Quail Park at Shannon Ranch - 1-Bedroom Living Room

    Quail Park at Shannon Ranch

This place is living off it's reputation. It is the most expensive assisted living in town. When…read moreI moved my dad in, his AC units didn't work, it took over a month for them to get a professional in to fix them and they still didn't work. He had a portable AC unit placed in his apartment, in a place he couldn't get to control it, as he's in a wheelchair. His door would not automatically lock when it closed. It took four requests and two thefts of $300 to get it fixed. My father also had my deceased mother's iPhone and iPad stolen from his apartment. All were reported to Jeff, the executive director, and nothing was done. Nothing reported to police, until I called them in myself. The dining area light in the apartment may or may not come on when you flick the switch. If you use the microwave oven, it will throw the breaker. Last time in my dad's apartment, it also took out to wall outlets. The AC units, even though they didn't cool the apartment, leaked- twice. The accounts payable person, Peggy, was very rude to me each time I paid my dad's bill. When someone hands you a check for $9,000, the least you can do is say "thank you". Jeff never returned my phone calls or voicemails. They could never keep all three elevators working at the same time. Something rather important when you have a building full of elderly people, with mobility issues, trying to get to the one dinning room in the middle of the building, on the second floor. It is really quite ridiculous for these things to be happening for the excessive amount of rent you pay. The one plus of the place are the care staff, especially Beka, Christina, Domonique, Laura, Jackie and Juju, they took great care of my folks! (My mom was in and out due to health issues, she passed there). If you're looking for assisted living for your loved one, keep looking.

We chose The Harvest in Fowler, California, which was convenient to me, since I live in Fowler. This was the best decision we could've made. The Harvest was always clean and well kept. Most of the employees were long term, which says a lot about management and the owners. I cannot say enough in support of everyone, from Alex, the administrator, to Rosa, Nancy, Lilian, Rebecca, Melissa, Corina, Marivel and Loretta, just to name a few. Everyone was very patient, caring, kind and really went out of their way to give our mom and all the other residents the best care. And they always made me feel very welcome and sincerely cared about. Our mom recently passed away, and Alex and many others attended her funeral and came to my home after. That meant so much to my sisters and me. We are so grateful they were there when we needed them. Thank you all so much. The family Alice Bulbulian

I was caring for my mom for months prior to and following when she was placed on hospice, but it was becoming too much for me continue doing (if you're a caregiver reading this, you know that caregiving can be overwhelming). Her hospice provider recommended The Harvest in Fowler, which was very convenient for us because I live in Kingsburg. In addition to standard assisted living, The Harvest also has a certain number of rooms that are classified as hospice care. Alex, the Administrator, was able to give me a tour the same day that I got in contact with him, and I was very impressed with their facilities and services. They had an opening for a hospice room and we were able to get my mom moved in by the end of the same week. Although her time there was limited, my mom was in reasonable condition when she first moved in and really enjoyed interacting with some of the other residents as well as the staff. All of the other residents that I met were very happy with the meals, the staff, and all of the activities and amenities that are provided at The Harvest. My mom had her own room and bathroom, and even though her room was slightly smaller than her room in her apartment, we were able to fit most of her main belongings in there and decorate it to make it feel like home. While my mom was there, my son and I visited very frequently and the staff there made us feel very welcome whenever we were there. Alex and all of the staff at The Harvest are very professional and well-trained, and the staff were very compassionate and patient when caring for my mom. I highly recommend The Harvest if you are looking for a place in the Central Valley to care for your loved one.

Honestly, my friend was of sound mind, but was physically unable to care for himself. The kind, friendly caregivers were very not there enough to meets his needs. My loved one is suffering from dementia and needs almost constant care and attention. The resident caregivers are there for her needs and have made adjustments as needs to keep her safe and as happy as she can be. Life throws us curves. If you are looking for someone to care for you or a loved one, it's not the best situation. I can say the last four years have been difficult for me as one making sure our family member is as comfortable as can be. Of that time, the days spent at Victoria's Care Home have been the best they can be for both the resident and those whose minds have been put more at ease after experiencing the high level of personalized care
