This place is living off it's reputation. It is the most expensive assisted living in town. When I moved my dad in, his AC units didn't work, it took over a month for them to get a professional in to fix them and they still didn't work. He had a portable AC unit placed in his apartment, in a place he couldn't get to control it, as he's in a wheelchair.
His door would not automatically lock when it closed. It took four requests and two thefts of $300 to get it fixed. My father also had my deceased mother's iPhone and iPad stolen from his apartment. All were reported to Jeff, the executive director, and nothing was done. Nothing reported to police, until I called them in myself.
The dining area light in the apartment may or may not come on when you flick the switch. If you use the microwave oven, it will throw the breaker. Last time in my dad's apartment, it also took out to wall outlets. The AC units, even though they didn't cool the apartment, leaked- twice.
The accounts payable person, Peggy, was very rude to me each time I paid my dad's bill. When someone hands you a check for $9,000, the least you can do is say "thank you". Jeff never returned my phone calls or voicemails.
They could never keep all three elevators working at the same time. Something rather important when you have a building full of elderly people, with mobility issues, trying to get to the one dinning room in the middle of the building, on the second floor.
It is really quite ridiculous for these things to be happening for the excessive amount of rent you pay.
The one plus of the place are the care staff, especially Beka, Christina, Domonique, Laura, Jackie and Juju, they took great care of my folks! (My mom was in and out due to health issues, she passed there).
