Was in from out of town, this was one of the only places open after 2:00 on Sunday. We were seated right away. There was lots of seating inside, booths and tables were available. The menu was very large with lots of choices. We received salsa and chips. A thick white queso was available for purchase. It was very good along with the salsa. We chose a double chicken fajita. We both received a set up of beans, rice, pico, sour cream, guacamole. Then out came a very large platter of fajita meat with onions, peppers, tomatoes. We each received three tortillas rolled up in foil. It was very good. A different kind of small cut up chicken than what I'm used to, but it was cooked very well and plenty of flavor. Hungry while in Guthrie, Ok. I opened maps and located Senior Lopez Mexican food. The Menu is huge with multiple food options. Offering multiple kids meal options which all four kids enjoyed! Honestly, my food was mediocre, but worthy of eating. Senior Lopez has a large drink menu as well. Much more than Margarita's however they offer multiple tasty margarita flavors. Was in the area and decided to check out Señor Lopez for lunch. We were seated quickly and brought chips and salsa. Salsa was a smooth red salsa with just a bit of heat to it. I personally would like it a bit spicier but overall this was an impressive salsa for a restaurant. Serve was attentive to our needs and checked on us regularly. I ordered the chili Colorado with cheese sauce and double rice. The meat and cheese combination was AWESOME and the serving was huge. I filled three small tortillas with the meat/cheese combo and rice and still had over half my meal left. I ended up taking it home to eat later. I've only ever eaten here via DoorDash but out of the places on DoorDash this is definitely one of the best. The Burrito California is huge! Me and my mom split it and still had enough for both of us to have seconds. I wish it had shredded chicken but it comes packed with everything! Top it with salsa and it's a party! The large chips and salsa is like a huge 32oz cup vs a small salsa just being a little container maybe 4 oz or so. The regular order of queso and guac come in a smaller 4 oz container also. I wasn't a huge fan of the guac but once you add salt and pepper it's a little better. We also had the fajita nachos my mom wasn't a fan but I loved my nachos deluxe. I wish it was more evenly split between toppings to chips and meat ratio but it was a ton of chips and chicken so definitely order extra queso if you get this. I definitely like the chicken more than the beef but so if it has chicken I'd go for it. The beef is kind of bland. For a while there we thought Senor Lopez might've lost its magic due to so many staff changes and the resulting waning quality of service over the last 1.5 years or so. We're glad to see that things have gone full circle and servers are once again friendly and on the ball! The food quality has stayed consistent and extremely reasonably priced for such great taste! The tasty chips, fresh salsa and de-licious cheese dip are our favorite things, the the main dishes are excellent as well. The chicken Chile relleno, wow, and the tacos Mexicanos (pork) is delectable. The pork is so tender, slight fatty and tasty and the plenteous cilantro and onions on top...I get it almost every visit. Food was great service was rough. We were there for a big event day on Guthrie. Seating was quick, but service went down after that. We had a hard time getting silverware, hard time getting drinks, hard time getting refills... There was an obvious language barrier which made us wish my son in law was there to help! The food quality is exactly what you'd expect. It doesn't set itself apart in any way, but handles everything well. Ok-- so for a local Mexican restaurant I can forgive the level of service received. It did take a while for any greeter / server to get to our table after being seated. The greeter dropped off chips and salsa, then we waited a while longer to order any drinks. To be fair the dining room was packed, but none of the servers seemed overwhelmed. The salsa was the worst part of this meal. It tasted of tinned (canned) tomatoes and had no flavor. Very disappointing for a Mexican restaurant in oklahoma. However, the rest of the meal was quite tasty. The queso was amazing and definitely worth ordering. I had the fajita chicken burrito with rice and beans. It was delicious! We decided to visit here Sunday night after a full day of traveling and then coming home to work on the garden. The place is super cute, well lit and decorated really nice. Our host sat us and we were greeted by our waiter right away. We were given a basket of complementary chips and salsa. The salsa had to be homemade. It had a great taste in there were big chunks of tomato inside! I ordered this amazing dish. It was a pineapple fajitas!!!! Who would've thought to add pineapple to a Mexican dish? Note: I'm Celiac and need gluten-free options and my reviews reflect that. If you are Celiac, you're likely taking a chance here because their knowledge of gluten allergies or intolerance is not as good. The manager came out and tried to help but didn't seem terribly knowledgeable. To their credit, so far I'm fine a few hours after eating here and they did accommodate my requests to warm the corn tortillas on a separate surface. We started with frozen margaritas and wow, they are big! We thought they might not have much alcohol, but a few of us had a pretty good buzz after one drink so be careful if driving. We also started with the white Queso which got great reviews from the family. The food overall was solid and we felt it was pretty good. The price is very reasonable as there were 6 of us and with drinks we spent ~$100. They said their enchiladas were safe for gluten-free but ended up going with the top shelf enchiladas that were ribeye. Some of the pieces were a little too charred but not bad. Most of the family finished with Sopaipillas, and they got just ok reviews overall. They were alright for a free sopaipilla. This place is Guthrie's version of what we affectionately call "trashy Mexican food." Word to the wise: the XL margarita is not a job for one individual. It requires 2 drinkers at minimum! A small fish tank might be jealous of the XL margarita glass....just sayin. Greasy, cheap, fast, and delicious with ginormous portions is the name of the game here. The cold white dip is my jam and I would eat only that if I didn't also love the chorizo street tacos. We always leave with 2 or 3 meals worth of leftovers per person and enjoy every bite. The larger tables (4+) are packed in pretty tightly, but the 4 tops are reasonably comfortable. We consistently encounter a language barrier with serving staff, and the draft beer ends up being mildly cool (the glass is chilled but the keg clearly isn't), thus the minus one star. read more

This is by far the best Mexican Restaurant in Guthrie. Fantastic food, great chips and salsa, drinks are cheap but really good, and the queso is amazing. My go to is the enchiladas ranchero which is three cheese enchiladas topped with pork, grilled peppers and onions, and red sauce. Makes amazing leftovers, and I always look forward to them. The Chile Relleno is one of the better ones I have had. It's very tender and full of flavor. My wife's favorite is the Pollo Con Queso. The drinks are very cheap for what you get. I typically get a Michelada, but their margarita's are also great. I would be careful of the size that you get though as a large is VERY big, and they have even a bigger size in the monster. The only reason this is a 4 star instead of a 5 star is that they servers can sometimes be a little hard to understand and has lead a few times to miscommunication on what we actually wanted. Not a huge deal, and they are quick to fix it, but can be slightly frustrating. They make the food very quick and even if it's super busy, they should have you in in no time! read more

I thought the food was fantastic. It reminded me of Mexican food on the west coast. I grew up in California and this is the first Mexican restaurant I've eaten at since 2017 that has the same flavor and style I grew up on. I ordered the chili verde and some Al la cart tacos. Fantastic and the price isn't outrageous either. The salsa is delicious and not overly spicy at all. I've had a hard time adjusting to Midwest Tex mex style Mexican so this is perfect "Baja Cali Mexican" as my Okie husband would say LOL I'm so happy I found a local Mexican restaurant I can order food from on the regular.
