We needed a day of coordinator but what we got was so much more. My fiance (now husband) and I thought we had everything taken care of with the exception of the final details. We had already booked the DJ, hair & makeup, the venue, had our invitations sent out.... what more was there to do??? How little we knew.... Alexa's organization and expertise blew us away. We filled out a number of online surveys so that she could make sure that she had every last detail taken care of. Everything from the rehearsal dinner, to the order that our family members would walk down the aisle, to who we wanted photos with (and who we didn't), toast speeches, what songs we wanted played and when, EVERYTHING was addressed and on the day of our wedding, she made sure that neither one of us had to worry about a thing. She attended so many of our meetings with our venue (even though we had a coordinator at the venue) and had an answer for us every time a minor dilemma or problem surfaced. Alexa also provided a number of helpful suggestions for seating charts, cards, first dance moment, re-use of floral arrangements to save money and so much more. I could tell you about how intuitive she is or how quick she was to respond (which is probably my biggest pet peeve when working with people). Or how on my wedding day, she was invaluable and handled everything with class, ease and a level of professionalism that is rarely seen. As our one year anniversary approaches, we are excitedly returning to Phoenix *and* we are excitedly going to meet up with our new, dear friends Cicely & Rebecca. A little back story, my husband and I have been together for 19 years now. As two guys, we once didn't even have the right to marry, and even today, as you can imagine, many people still are disapproving or are uncomfortable or whatnot. Anyhow, keep that in your back pocket. Back in 2016, we had a random work trip to Phoenix. We decided to spend a night at the Biltmore, since we are huge Frank Lloyd Wright fans. We decided to get married there! It was the perfect spot. The wonderful Biltmore folks introduced us to Cicely and Rebecca (and two other planning firms), whom we met via Skype from our home back in NYC. Unlike the other planners, they wanted to get to know us and our story, unlike other planners who seemed to tick off a list of "what do you want at your wedding reception." We hit it off so PERFECTLY on the first call. It seemed to be meant to be how smart and talented and sweet they were. While we had nice meetings with the other planners, Life Design set the bar so much higher. From that point on, they did everything so perfectly. They were responsive at all hours of the day, they came up with creative ideas that always fit within our budget, and they provided sound advice on where to spend more money or less money to get our overall effect. They created such an impressive plan for us that we were excited every step of the way to see it play out. Since we didn't tell anyone that we were getting married after all these years, they worked with their recommended vendors to come up with a brilliant plan to send out a small book with the story of our lives as our "save the date." So in December of 2016, our family and friends got a box with a book in the mail. It was a huge hit with us and with everyone in our lives. Our invitations had such sophistication and class. They helped introduce us to incredibly talented and open minded and hard working vendors who never once caused us worry or concern. As we gave them the very complicated task of figuring out a memorable welcome reception within a reasonable budget, they worked and worked and worked and came up with a brilliant outdoor event at the Hermosa Inn, which included so many creative touches that our guests loved, including tacos cooked over cauldrons, a fun s'more station over a cauldron, and the beauty of the Southwest. What an event! Most importantly, I will be immodest and say our wedding was insanely awesome. They came up with a design that fit our aesthetic and the great setting of the Biltmore. Our guests were blown away by how beautiful and sophisticated everything was. They came up with beautiful details in terms of linens, furniture, table markers, signage, and everything else. Cicely and Rebecca worked their butts off. On the weekend of our wedding, our friends were amazed that we were relaxing by the pool with them because Cicely and Rebecca and their magical team took care of everything and we had nothing to worry about. We can't say a single negative thing, and we have nothing but the highest recommendation for these brilliant women. We love that they made our wedding so gorgeous and so artistic and so high-end. We love that they worked carefully with our needs. We love that they were so attentive and hard working. We love that they are so caring and open-minded. Wow. Just wow. Thank you.

From the beginning, Emily asked for our food preferences and made sure we had exactly the foods we asked for. She even suggested a theme for our food to "bring Mexico to us", since we had to cancel our Mexico destination wedding. The food was ABSOLUTELY amazing! We chose to do 3 food stations in lieu of a traditional sit down dinner. The stations were: Mexican, Italian, and Mediterranean. The Mexican station had a chef preparing carnitas & fish street tacos. The Italian station had a chef twirling the pesto pasta onto forks, individual lasagna cups (groom request), and gluten free meatballs. The Mediterranean/charcuterie station had a large assortment of cheeses, hummus, chicken skewers, and grilled veggies. She certainly blew it out of the park with the food! My wife is gluten free and we had several other special dietary requests from our guests. Emily made sure to incorporate as much food as possible to accommodate those food allergies. For example, she had gluten free crackers on the Mediterranean station in addition to pita bread for those without allergies. The Mexican station had the option of flour or corn tortillas. The Italian station had gluten free meatballs. 4 out of 5 passed hors devours were gluten free as well (caprese skewers, stuffed mushrooms, bacon wrapped scallops, gluten free crab cakes). In addition, she ensured the cake was gluten free as well! By the way, the baker she uses for her cakes is FABULOUS! All the guests were raving about the food! Emily also coordinated all the rentals and vendors for the event since the wedding took place at a private residence. During that process, she was SUPER patient with changes that occurred throughout the process. She also accommodated a change/addition to the tables & linens after both had already been ordered...Thank you Emily! We will definitely be using Emily's Events for catering in the future! Only feedback we will provide is: If you use her as a wedding coordinator, make sure you add her Wedding Coordinator package. Although she was gracious enough to help out, when we needed her...we had a friend step in on the day of the event to make sure the last minute details were perfect. It probably would've been better (and worth the extra $) to have her coordinate everything. Since we didn't pay for this service, she was not at the rehearsal & rehearsal dinner, which would have been quite helpful. We hope this helps someone else in their decision making processes.

We all know that traveling as a woman can be a little nerve-racking. Having Girl About Town changed that for me. It was like I was flying into a support system. She checked on us throughout our trip and even when we landed back at home. I felt like I had a local person that I could contact at any point if I needed anything. The weeks leading up to our trip, Vic and I spoke many different times. She made sure I knew everything that they offered to make our trip one of a kind. She pointed us to local restaurants that I had no idea existed even in the last three time I've visited New Orleans. On top of the beautiful decorations, amazing charcuterie board, games, and special treats. She came back to the Airbnb after we left for home and cleaned the whole place. What a blessing especially since we had to leave at 8 AM and wanted to enjoy our last night. I would also like to say Skyer and Vic made sure we had a stand to hang the decor on because the whole building was brick.
