It is basically across the street from Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. My most recent visit here was on August 4, 2026. The outside of the place looks like most other medical practices in the area. The building is one story. On all the visits I have been here, I have not had any issues with parking availability, even when it was at a busier time. Be careful when entering and exiting from the door facing First Colonial Rd. as there is a big step to come in and out of there. Once inside, there was a good amount of seating available, though it can be tight when it's busy in there. The visits are for both office visits and shots only visits. After asking for an allergy specialist referral from my PCP, I was referred to this place. My first visit here was on April 16, 2026. The front desk isn't hard to find when you come in. The left window is for checking into getting shots only and the right window is for those that are coming in for an office visit. Overall, my interactions with the staff overall have been excellent. The doctor that I was assigned here and am currently seeing to this day is Dr. Craig Koenig. The only thing I knew about allergies were that they have been bad for me quite a while, which is why I was calling it hell-ergies. On every office visit, you'll have to fill out a general info questionnaire. The first visit will also entail the general med checks, such as weight and blood pressure. After that, it was time to go to a patient room and meet the doctor. The encounter with Dr. Koenig was great. As a part of the first visit, I did take the full allergy testing, which would help down the line knowing what my allergies were, and they were known that same day. After that was done, he went over the process for allergy shots. There were a few options. The first one is the traditional once a week shot to get to the maintenance level, which can take up to 30 weeks or so or go with the rush immunotherapy, where multiple shots are done at a time to get to the maintenance level faster. In the end, I decided to go with the rush immunotherapy. Since there could be issues with rush (clustering) immunotherapy, I was prescribed Epipens in case it is needed. About a month later in May, the immunotherapy clustering process began. Since it's the clustering, it is part of an office visit rather than just a visit for shots. The process would be to have 8 to 12 shots at a time with each clustering visit. They would be spaced out to two shots every 30 minutes. These would occur a week apart. Up until the fourth time, I had no major reactions to the shots. On that fourth round of updosing, I started breaking out in hives and was turning red. They did inject epinephrine a few times to get it under control, but I did not experience any anaphylaxis. I was there for about six hours or so, but everything was done well with care and concern too. There was a definite genuine concern for my health when the outbreak happened. This is what makes this a great place for allergy shots. After this incident, we went to single weekly shots, but it only took six weeks to make it to maintenance level after that, so it was still much faster than doing it once a week. Since being on the maintenance dosing, I haven't had any issues or reactions except for the usual rash for about a day after the shots. I've noticed the after effects have been less with each shot now, and hopefully it stays that way. I'll be back in October 2026 for a follow up after having the shots now for several months. One thing to note is that some days the wait for the shots can be longer as the ones administering the shots are the nurses also working the office visit appointments too. Overall, I have had great experiences here with all of the staff and the process of getting the shots. I have felt the immediate relief too. I used to clog up in the nose when going outside, but that has not been the case since being on the allergy shots. If you're looking for a place for allergy shots or testing, this place is worth coming to.

The location is in a more northern part of the main hospital since I last had surgery there, sitting directly north of the Emergency Room. Coming from the north, enter at the first Hospital entrance off Kempsville Road. A tricky part of reaching the drive through entrance at the front of the building is that one has to enter the fenced Ambulatory Surgery parking lot on the left to reach the drive around. There isn't a sign which makes it confusing, especially if you have to be there at 0:dark30 in the morning. Parking is plentiful, especially in the early morning when most surgeons operate. A large clean waiting room, complete with a coffee station, is available for patients and those waiting with them. Near the coffee station is a row of cushion backed small tables where one can sit & work while they wait. Check-in and front desk personnel are extremely pleasant and friendly. The patient's family or friends are given a number so they can check the patient's progress on a digital board while they go through the pre-op & surgery process. After a patient is prepped, the family member or friend is called back to wait until the patient is taken back to the operating room. During that time both anesthesia & the surgeon come into the patient's cubicle for a final check in & questions. Everyone was friendly and cheerful, including those at the medical station in the midst of the pre-op & recovery cubicles. After surgery the waiting person is called back to sit with the patient during the postoperative instructions. This was the only glitch in what otherwise would have been a perfect review. The nurse, who we had not seen before, read through the postoperative instructions very quickly from the printed instructions as if he were in a hurry to get us out the door. In my opinion this should not be rushed. Time should be allowed for the patient to have all their cognitive processes restored after anesthesia so they can digest the information & ask questions. He also wouldn't allow her to have anything but ice chips instead of offering a small drink, such as Ginger Ale, as I've always experienced in the past. Sentara Leigh Ambulatory Surgery Center is a wonderful choice for outpatient procedures. I would highly recommend.

Everyone is so caring and friendly, from check in, to Nurses and Anesthesiologist. They all make you feel like they really care about you The waiting area is very clean and nicely decorated. There is a coffee station available for anyone waiting for you and a screen that updates as you move from pre op to recovery. Both procedures went very well. The only problem was the time you have to arrive. First surgery arrival was 6:00 AM, second arrival time was 5:30 AM. I am not an early riser and being retired, I do not get up early and I am not a fan of the Surgeons early morning schedules.

I get shots for my Psoriatic Arthritis and my Friend gets an infusion for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Our treatments are once a month and going in is like visiting a friend. Keeping up with all the patients getting different medicines and the paperwork/computer work that goes along with each patient takes a very well organized Nurse to handle what can be a very busy place at times. Following a number of my neurological issues, she's always been completely accurate in her diagnoses. Even with a family history of one of my problems, she still did complete testing to make certain testing to rule out other problems that could cause the same symptoms. So it was with much disappointment, at my appointment yesterday, I learned that she is retiring March '27. Thorough as always she talked me through the choice of two area physicians who specialized in my primary issue. In addition she discussed again a procedure I have always refused. I did agree to go for a consultation to see if the procedure would benefit my main current issue, She diagnosed a problem I had been having and the medication used to treat it. She also ordered an MRI of my back since it had been four years since the last, Dr. Cao is such a wonderful Neurologist. It's a sad thing that not just me, but the entire medical community will lose her to retirement.

This CVP Surgery Center is located in Norfolk. For reference, I think they are within a mile of…read morethe Military Highway Light Rail Station. It is located on Corporate Blvd. and the road connects with Military Highway and Curlew Rd (which is the road that the light rail follows). The final visit was on June 2, 2026. When coming up to the place at first, it was hard to find the entrance as the GPS was giving the wrong way to get there, but we did eventually make it. There was plenty of parking available, including quite a few handicap spaces too. The building isn't hard to find when you see the CVP Surgery Center sign. When you come inside, the place was very clean and well maintained. It was nice and bright too, so it was an overall great atmosphere to be in. They do tend to get busy, so at times, the seating can become limited, as I experienced that on the June 2, 2026 surgery mom had (it was a later arrival time than the first one). I was curious as to what the CVP stood for. The prior name was Virginia Eye Consultants. CVP stands for CEI Vision Partners, which was originally connected with the Cincinnati Eye Institute. The company name now is Eyecare Partners LLC. My mom was the one to have the cataract surgeries in both eyes. The right eye was done on May 5, 2026, and the left eye was done on June 5, 2026 by Dr. Scoper. The scheduled time for the first surgery was to be there at 6:15 am when they open the doors (doors open at 6:10 am). The process outlined next is the same each time you come in. You go to the counter after entering and sign in with your name and who is doing the surgery. After that, you remain in the waiting room until you get called to one of the intake booths. They go over everything that you would have already gotten from the first encounter at their other facility nearby. Of course there were signatures needed and such. Once all of that was done, it was time to wait again in the waiting room. One of the staff will come out and call the patient by name to come with them to go back for pre-surgery prep. The driver that is with the patient doesn't go with them. Instead, they get called back separately once they are set up on the monitors and such. Once they were ready to take her back for the surgery, I had to go back to the waiting room until it was done. In both instances, it was much quicker than I thought it would be. In both cases, it was less than an hour (closer to 30-45 min max). They call you back when it's done. Once everything is settled, they brought her out on a wheelchair to the car due to the waning effects of the anesthesia during the process. After the first week of each of the surgeries, mom did have a few blurs and such, but everything that happened, was noted as possible temporary post-op symptoms. After a few weeks done from each eye, everything stabilized and has been normal since. The great part is that she doesn't have to use glasses for the most part now except when reading up close. Overall, this part of the process was great. The staff were very friendly and answered any questions that we had before and after each surgery. They also do a telehealth call the day after to follow up on how the surgery went and what symptoms or issues you might have. If I need cataract surgery in the future, I would definitely look into having it done at this business.

On the day of surgery, I was so impressed with the facility and the staff. Great parking lot, wonderful staff members greeted us and their smiles eased my nervousness. The staff is top-notch and they know their stuff. I was taken back right on time. I could not take pictures of the operating room but it looked like a cool sci-fi novel cover. The technology that they have is crazy futuristic. CVP Surgery is the place to get any eye surgery, they spent some serious dollars obtaining the latest technology available. Anyhoo, the surgery went so fast that I felt like I had barely sat down when a hand on my shoulder told me everything went very well. The difference is literally fog vs clear skies. I can read without readers now. My prescription changed for the better in a very dramatic way. Dr. Scoper is an amazing surgeon and his staff are the best of the best. The tech who did my X-ray was really friendly and patient with me. She saw I was having a hard time standing still due to the pain in my legs for the X-rays, so she got me a stool to sit in, which made it easier for me to be still for the images. I appreciated that!! The waiting area inside was clean and had plenty of seating. The front desk staff was nice also!! There was a nice view of the water and the surrounding area. There's a parking garage connected to the building. The 1st 2 hours is free. I'd come back to this diagnostic center again! Check them out!!

Taking up the 8th floor of that building is their spacious waiting room, quality facilities & friendly personnel. It's a much easier Sentara location for the diagnostics they offer because of the adjoining parking garage with easy access to the elevator. Step out of the elevator onto the 8th floor and you will immediately find, to the right, the Diagnostic Center entrance doors. There is no weather or long walking lot issues to bother you. The only negative is that the results don't usually come through on your MyChart App until the next day. They send Blood Work across the street to the hospital for processing. Blood Work done at the hospitals, such as Leigh, are sometimes available on MyChart shortly after returning home. It's pretty amazing. The Building is located on the south side of Brambleton Avenue. Turn left on Colley, right on Southampton then right on Riverview. The parking garage is on the back side of the building (from Brambleton). Don't forget to get you parking ticket validated so it's free.

After I signed myself out of the hospital I immediately reached out to her through their new portal & messages left at her Town Center office. There was no response, which was very odd. Normally she answers immediately. When my friend had an appointment with her she told her of my dilemma. That day I received a call setting up a Telehealth visit for yesterday. There were answers. The new portal sends all messages to a central person at TPMG rather than directly to the provider. The practice's personnel had been working to try to learn & adjust to the new system. She apologized profusely. I'm not sure the TPMG medical group's new system is as effective in reaching the provider as the last. It was calming & reassuring after the hospital experience to get answers & medication adjustments from Dr Joshi. She returned one medication doubled by the hospital to her original doseage. An explanation was given to me about why the hospital said to greatly increase my protein from foods. Even better she gave me a standing order for regular bloodwork so this type of emergency wouldn't happen again. I'm certainly happy to have been referred to Dr Joshi after all my other specialists had given up on solving this chronic problem. Just please no more being forced to go to the ER!!!!

It's usually caused by a kidney disorder but in my case the cause is vitamin D and or Calcium. Blood work is done every 3 months or so to monitor my PTH, Vitamin D and Calcium.
