Long story short I took my daughter off allergy medicine for testing. She got horribly sick only to get to the appt to be told we were only testing for amoxicillin and not environment allergies. My daughter didn't handle the test great and was crying and screaming (like any child would). Dr came in and stopped the test in mid test. Said it was bad business and he wouldn't have her crying there. Then he looked at her and said she didn't have asthma. He didn't run any tests. We then had an appt with chkd allergy who told me they should have never tested her for amoxicillin because it wouldn't come up in an allergy test. They then tested her for asthma and she has full blown asthma. I'm not sure how the first dr just assumed she didn't. Never going back and I wouldn't suggest going to this practice!

Initial impression was good…read more Easy to find with plenty of parking out front. My first visit went easily - I waited probably 15 minutes. I had to fill out four pages of paperwork while they copied my ID and insurance card but that went fairly quickly. The inside is clean and well staffed at the reception area with friendly staff. I saw Dr. Gessler who was very kind and proficient. I liked him. He prescribed me an ointment for a bump in my nose and said come back in two weeks to see how it's doing. All in all - clean, efficient, short wait, friendly staff and doctors, that's enough for me!

I was shocked Dr. Koenig does not see ill patients but rather directs one to an ER or clinic. I went to a Sentara clinic 2x but was still ill 3 weeks later, both COVID & flu negative. Got an appt with Dr. Koenig about another issue & he told me that he was prescribing 4 meds. Only 2 were rec'd by pharmacy. I've now called 3x and been told by 3 different people to go to an ER or clinic. AND I'VE BEEN ILL 6 WEEKS WITH NO IMPROVEMENT.

They gave my daughter too much peanut treatment for her "challenge". As her face is getting puffy and I am trying not to lose my cool, I asked sarcastically if they were going to give her meds?? Dr. Moss goes, "do you have Benadryl in your purse?" I looked at him in disbelief and quickly got my Benadryl and gave her two children's Benadryl. After 30 minutes, she STILL wasn't getting better. I went to the nurses station and let them know she wasn't getting any better. They gave her an adult Zyrtec and told me just be patient. As I am fuming, they don't even come to check on her until I opened the door wide open and flared at each person who walked by. This is not the only issue. They were fantastic before covid. NOW, we have YET to have an appointment go ON TIME. They are LATE every time with HORRIBLE service. Every person is disgruntled or seem as if they don't want to be there. Their customer service went to hell. I do not plan on going back and looking at options to report to the military. If they go back to how they were, that would be great but the last year has been a nightmare with them.

So after a few visits it's safe I say this office is equally bad as the Virginia Beach office…read more Unfortunately I have to remind myself there's probably going to be some "mess" experienced when I have to come here...They don't communicate schedule changes/appointment changes, and sometimes seem to randomly change things at will all the while not keeping patients in the loop. For example, for most of my visits to this location and all to the Virginia Beach office my injections need ten minutes to sit out before administering, so I expect it/it's not a big deal...this office randomly changes it to fifteen minutes AND wants me to call now before I come in. Mind you they're never swamped when I come and seemingly well staffed. There have been times when my medications have not arrived (delayed shipping/etc) and they didn't call or let me know prior to my appointments thus, wasting my time driving here and little no apologies. If I didn't have to use this location I wouldn't, if my doctor wasn't so caring and amazing I would've switched to another office lot ago. The one star is for the nurse that normally does my injections is a sweetheart and at my most recent visit the nurse that was giving me attitude and need up being my injector and dropped the attitude after she called me back.

My assumption was that the new doctor would keep the appointment I had scheduled. When time started to get close & I didn't hear from the practice, I called. They treated me like a new patient & gave me an appointment months out with a different person than Dr Belete's letter indicated. I told them about the letter & the appointments person acted as if it meant nothing. That's when I started my search for a new Pulmonologist, which I found. This office had always been bad about canceling appointments & then giving an appointment months later. So I was never up to date on my care. I did also have a bad experience with one of their doctors in 2016 when my late Uncle was hospitalized at Beach General. He pulled me out of the room & showed me the scans that indicated badly advanced lung cancer. I told him I didn't want to tell my Uncle then, knowing he would immediately give up. He told me No & marched into my Uncle's room & gave him the news quite abruptly, although I was the next of kin and had Power of Attorney. The Pulmonologist told my Uncle he had a choice to go to one of their Hospice Houses or to Hospice at my house, which he did. It was a terrible experience because of his lack of bedside manner. Due to the staff attitude & my experience with their doctor who was attending Pulmonologist at Beach General when my Uncle was hospitalized, I would no longer recommend this practice.

The nurse Anity? (not sure the spelling because she would not take time to spell it) was rude and…read moreunprofessional. I was calling to speak to Edith, another nurse. She told me Edith is too busy to speak with me ever! I was in human resources for over 30 years. It is very concerning to have someone like that treating patients. The doctors maybe good, but their staff is severely lacking.
