My mom and I used this company to service an issue we had with our gate. Please keep in mind that this experience was my impression based on phone calls I overheard and updates from my mom on the situation. Professionalism: the lady they have working in their office could probably do with some customer service etiquette training. The service person also cancelled 3x before coming out to fix the gate with no explanation of service charges or an estimate before finishing the work. I told my mom going forward please get everything in writing from all people providing services, but I believe most professionals would give you a break down of services to be rendered so you don't get charged 314 dollars for changing the batteries in an automatic gate. We got charged for a service call, labor, and parts. Usually you only get charged for a service charge if you decide not to go forward with the work. Communication: my mom had to get in touch with the lady in their office several times in order to get a quote with part numbers and weirdly the numbers on the verbal and email estimates kept changing, leading us to believe they're not really charging based on anything written down. I think it's super unprofessional to not follow up with an invoice or estimate rendered but that's our fault for chasing them down, we should have just left it alone. Accusation: I overheard the woman on the phone say that my mom didn't want to pay the bill we were given and my mom explained the service person didn't take payment at the time of service like other people in other industries have done. The woman argued with my mom about the bill when my mom asked if she was going make changes to the invoice and send her an updated invoice. My mom explained the service person gave her nothing but the carbon for the 314 dollar estimate. I feel that this situation was very confusing with poor communication and service and a lack of professionalism and poise on the company representatives part. I understand that everyone has bad days and if the owner would like to chat about our experience I am happy to discuss it with him or her but I currently do not recommend this company as I feel they didn't hit the level of service the other reviews had left. I read reviews religiously and look at them as opportunities for business owners to know what's happening in their business, but I don't leave them without serious consideration. Unfortunately the customer rep was so unhelpful I am leaving this Google review. Thanks for reading. Update: Spoke to the owner, didn't feel he handled it professionally. They respond very quickly and do the job right. I have always been happy with them. I don't know if they are too expensive or not, but I don't have to worry that our gates won't get fixed and fixed correctly. read more

Overpriced!! Called in sentry to come and diagnose our gate issue as it wouldn't open all the way. The tech came, changed the battery and gave us a bill of $312 for approx $25 battery.The work was done under 5 minutes. Hire them if you want to be over charged else shop somewhere else. read more

They are punctual, professional and reasonably priced. The precision of the work that they performed was amazing. I had a damaged entry gate receiver replaced and the replacement that the installed fits better than the original equipment. They also left the worksite cleaner than it was when they arrived. read more

Funny response from the owner. After overpaying I I called two other gate repair shops in town to see what they charge for all the same services listed previously. Both of their prices were around 300 - 350 including service charges... you want to stand by your high price, that is fine but don't try coming at me. read more

Leo came out and did a GREAT gate repair. He explained what was wrong with the gate and fixed it so that it worked much better than before it broke. He did precise work and was on time and very pleasant. I would definitely work with Sentry and Leo again. Based upon their outstanding work on each job - by really good, qualified, multi-crafted, and all-round helpful people - I write this to confirm my specific, excellent experience. From this work, it is my experienced opinion that the people at Sentry know their gate system products and can confidently work to get good equipment installed and functioning as we desired. We had a very positive experience with Sentry. We needed to change out a deadbolt lock for a keypad on a gate, and though it was a small job, they did a very good job, even coming back to address a minor concern. It was fairly pricey for something relatively small, but I appreciated the honesty from them (I interacted with Greg) ahead of time that it was going to be that way, even saying they'd understand if we said no. We dealt with multiple other fence companies prior to Sentry. They all treated us as if our job was beneath them to accomplish (including one that wouldn't even return a follow-up call). Spent over $8,000 on a new fence and these guys did a terrible job. There are huge gaps between the pickets and I can now see into my nieghbors yard and pool. Had to argue with Greg (the owner) to make him honor his original estimate. DO NOT USE these guys. It took them over a month to complete the job, because the crew that was working on the job were working on other jobs at the same time, so there was never 8 hours of work going on at my fence job. read more

Solid service and very competitive prices. Called them around 10:00 a.m. to get an estimate over the phone to replace four torsion springs for my garage door (one spring had broken). The owner was able to schedule the repair for the same day. Even with a brief delay to source some specific parts, Sentry completed the repair by 3:00 p.m. that day. The final cost was about 20% more than the estimate, but I was notified in advance of this increase and it was due to needing springs cut to a specific length for my custom, wooden garage door.
