I wish I could leave zero stars. I did a pick up order yesterday and spent $1000 on products. When I get home I find an item is missing. Thinking this could be an easy fix, I call the store. Not only do they refuse to refund me or even just have the item shipped (I currently live an hour away) they basically accuse me of trying to steal. They need to contact asset protection and etc. Again, I spent $1000 and just ordered an additional $250 worth of products. This could have been resolved by just making it right. I will never step foot in this store again, coming from someone who goes to Sephora and spends money at least once a month. I will be sticking to Nordstrom and Ulta from here on out. read more

It is very sad when brick and mortar versions of Sephora cannot be pleasant experiences. I know that Coronado has theft issues and the stores within struggle, but I want to be able to walk into a Sephora and sample products before I buy. I've been to this store many times and leave with nothing more often than not for 2 reasons. One, they rarely have stock of what I find I like in person. Two, the sample situation at this store is disgusting. There is smears and goo all over the place. I wouldn't even want to try the samples for fear of some hygiene problems. The disarray cannot possibly be due to lack of personnel because they consistently ask if I need assistance finding something literally every time I turn around. The only reason I go into this store anymore is to purchase products I already have and need refills but don't want to wait to be shipped, otherwise I shop online. It's a bit frustrating this is the only Sephora in Albuquerque much less New Mexico. This location is always sold out of products. With the selection they do have, it is very limited due to theft. Your best bet is shopping online if you live in NM. Staff is not friendly or attentive when walking in the store, being in the store nor leaving the store. Wow, after reading several reviews here, I'm sad to say, I'm not alone in my VERY NEGATIVE impression of this Sephora store. Walked into the store where there were 4or5 females right there in front with their middle school age clique attitudes. You know the look; they look at you as if to say," what are YOU doing here?!" The blonde who gave me the rudest STARE, was trying to hide laughing, didn't do a great job at it. I stared right back at her heavily makeup caked face. One woman came forward & helped us. The rest of them seemed only interested in making fun of & trying to intimidate CUSTOMERS with their childish judgemental stares. They behave as if they've been living in a cave all their life, IMO. Sephora's. I have been shopping at Sephoras since I became make up addicted in 2008, from a Sephora's in Times Square. I just take it for granted that the store is in a city I travel to. And I love going there. I was out of something, and Sephora's carried it. Without Sephora's, sometimes I have no idea how I'd manage to travel where I do. It has everything I need, and all the make up I could want. Again, I could blow a near entire paycheck in this store, and only buy a few high end items. The staff here are very nice. They were helpful indeed. I finally got my insider's Card corrected, and they gave me a new one. Insider's card...I have 595 points on it, but I didn't trade the points in, as of yet. This Sephora's has an entire display devoted (you can't miss it, it's in the main walking aisle) to Urban Decay. I mean, it's in your face. How I left without buying the eyeliner I want is beyond me, but I refrained cause I don't need to buy anymore from Albuquerque. My eyelash extensions are huge (Thanks, Albuquerque eyelash girl) and I almost bought mascara to make them bigger , which I also need, but didn't ask. It is so hard to refrain from buying when I am in need, er want, of make up. Since I got my eyelash extensions there's products I need. I know Sephora's has them. And Sephora's has it, and these ladies know their stuff. This is a good store in a good location. I do find that since I got big huge lashes, I get bombarded with sales people in store like this, which is fine with me. More attention. I have always wanted to go to Sephora ever since I fell in love with Aqua De Gio (one of their men's colognes), and I have to say they do not disappoint. The associates were welcoming and willing to help with anything we needed. The location and presentation was immaculate too. I went to the gym. I needed to go to the mall to return some shoes. I didn't have a lot of make up on. My clothes were clean and I had showered at the gym. After I returned my shoes I decided to stop into Sephora because I'm not that great at being a girl to be honest. I had 500$ cash in my purse (I'm a bartender) I went in with the intention of just having someone match some foundation or give me any advice the could offer. I was greeted at the door but that was it. I walked around and asked 2 different employees if I could get some help and was brushed off nor was anyone sent my way. I waited and waited I decided since I was there I would get a sample of perfume for my mom. They did that quick and after that was left to wander around the store. I left pretty quickly after that. I have never felt so embarrassed and alienated in my life. I will never return to this Sephora nor will I ever recommend anyone to. I love this location. I frequent often and I'm constantly met with helpful and friendly staff. I had (Melanie or Melissa) help me with my too faced foundation and concealer match. She was personable and seemed so happy to help. I've also had a great experience with a gentlemen at this location who I'm sorry I cannot remember his name but he is always so helpful, always willing to give samples. I love this location. I love their skin care selection - if they are out of something they offer solutions instead of just passing me off and telling me their shipment date. This French retailer just opened September 12, 2008 in the aging Coronado Mall in Albuquerque's Uptown retail district. Finally New Mexico gets a Sephora Store. It used to be you could only shop Sephora online or in larger cities like Phoenix, Denver, or Las Vegas. Now just head uptown ABQ. You will find bright lights, more cosmetics and fragrances that you could ever imagine. Prepare to give the nose a workout smelling all those perfumes. On a positive side you will get to rest your eyes on some beautiful women. Ahhhh......how they love this stuff. Staff were friendly. Lot's of stuff to test. Good free samples at checkout. Went to sephora today to make an exchange. My husband accidentally threw away the receipt for my purchase, but felt i was good because i had placed my order on line. All they had to do was look me up. That's what they say, right. Sales associate at the time went to look me up on her system and couldn't find me, said she could see my information but not where I made the purchase. Left to go home, searched on my computer and boom, there it was. Ya'll want to borrow my computer! Not the Sephora in JC Penny, that Sephora is good and the service is good just hope they have what you want cuz if you go to the other shop (near Sears), forget it!!! I got addressed as Hey Lady by some oaf who was standing around around w/his coworker. Ah Ha!! some attention only to be rebuffed when asked for help finding something. Not even an effort!!! Oaf just stood there, looking away! Let's just say I've been to a few Sephoras in a few cities across the US in my day. But honestly, the workers here are some of the best. They are quick to give you samples to compare several brands before you buy and are always happy to take the time and teach you how to properly apply a product. In some Sephora stores I feel like I am watched like a hawk when I just go in there to freshen up my makeup/hairspray, but they don't care here. No pressure. When I check out I always forget my frequent buyer card, but that's no problem here. They always offer to look up my email in lieu of presenting an actual card; I didn't even know this was an option as they never offered to try at other stores! They also give you random free samples when you check out - I haven't seen that at another Sephora before! All in all, yaay for this store. read more

Went to find a new hair conditioner...was looking at products when a short hair older employee came and asked if I wanted help. Normally I say no here but I thought it might be a good idea since I wasn't sure which conditioner I wanted. I was specific "looking for a good new conditioner for my hair that is a bit thick and dry". She pointed out a hair spray oil? I again said no...not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for conditioner. She then picked up a hair mask? I said no, not even the product I asked for...again. I usually make a stop at Coronado Center when I am in ABQ two to three times a year. When I go in I am reminded, that the cashiers are rude. The people at the front are always welcoming, but the cashiers are not the friendliest. At my recent visit I became Rouge level for the rewards and I had to ask if I had leveled up. Wow. I got asked 4 times if I needed help in this store. I nearly fainted, I am not used to that attention here in Nuevo Mexico. I saw a lot of stuff in here that I wanted. The difference from my last review is that the employees no longer talk "smack" about their customers; this is mostly due to the fact that they hardly even acknowledge them. This is a smaller Sephora but it has all your basics. The staff all seemed to have very heavy makeup looks the day I was there, borderline clown/drag makeup if I'm brutally honest...but I guess when you get the stuff for free... It did make me question their advice a little! Haha maybe it was a special event? I was looking to be helped out with choosing a new foundation but the lady who was in that aisle asked if I was "still ok" and didn't really seem too interested in actually helping me at all. Sounds like a regular day at Sephora: I went to this Sephora because the Confidence in a Foundation by IT Cosmetics was recently released and was advertised as available at this location. Because I am in between foundation shades, I went to Sephora to have a shade matched on my skin. When I could finally locate an employee to help me, she said there was a thirty minute wait and she didn't seem to care that I was hovering over the IT Cosmetics gondola. She didn't offer an alternative or ask questions about what shade I would usually wear. She just blew me off, saying the wait for a match was 30 minutes. Then, I went to the register to see if they could check on a certain shade that seemed closest to what I was looking for. Rather than looking in the drawer or looking at their online stock, she said they didn't get all the foundations shipped to them. I explained the Sephora website listed it available. All she said was "sorry". I've been to Sephora stores all over and the Coronado store isn't immune from crappy employees or services. I left pretty frustrated because I needed to buy a couple things in addition to this foundation. They don't care, so they lost a costumer! read more

So I love Spehora and the girls here usually helpful I don't ever need thier help being a make up adduct but today I went for skin care products and I needed help with finding a product. So the woman who works in this area came to help me and was very short and annoyed I was asking questions and I felt like it was beneath her to help me. I asked for samples and she replyed didn't you get the bag I gave you...puzzled I said no but I'd love one. I continued to ask questions and she was so bugged with me. I just wanted to know about a product I got with my points she said I don't know in this rude attitude. Then I asked for a sample and she said can you just wait!! I'm trying to do everything here!! I was the only one there. I stayed kind and happy the whole time. I decided to tell the other girl working there. She said oh no she's the nicest person ever. The staff at this location were so incredibly helpful. They were able to answer all my questions about products and made great recommendations-- I love everything I came home with! I shop at Sephora very often. However I was very disappointed with my visit to your store recently. There has never been a time when I'm in a Sephora and not been greeted or asked if I needed assistance. On this visit.. I walked in and there were a cluster off employees talking among each other... no one asked me if I needed help.. I circled the store 3 times to find the product I needed.. then when I asked for a sample of the new beauty blender foundation I felt like I was bothering her.. she didn't even greet me back when I smiled asked if I can have a sample of the new foundation. She never spoke a word to me during this whole time. I thanked her and proceeded to pay for my items. The person that rung me up did not even ask if I was helped by anyone.. I couldn't tell her the name of the person that helped me because she never gave me a name or spoke to me.. this makes me want to go into a retail store even less. For reasons as such..I am even more determined to shop online and avoid going into a store to get treated like this. Horrible! Someone should enlighten the unknowledgeable staff as to how it really works. Returns are not welcome, online purchases are completely separate from in-store purchases and they have no problem telling you that when you're returning something however when you're purchasing something they will tell you just about anything. My online return was lost, I called after not hearing anything for 3 months & Jordan said it should have been handled in a timely manner and my return had been tossed out. She said I should have read the Sephora return policy as it is clearly stated there. I will never go to another Sephora or have any dealings with Sephora again after tonight. So, this Friday is my birthday, but my Dad is in town so we decided to celebrate early by going out to The Cheesecake Factory. My birthday present was a $50 gift card to Sephora (my now ex-favorite store), so we decided after dinner to go to the establishment. We took the car from the Cheesecake Factory so we didn't have to walk a long way to make a quick purchase at Sephora When we got there I started to browse like a normal trip, however I had a question about bronzers. My Dad,wanting to help,went and asked a worker if she could help me. He came back and told me that I needed to make an appointment. Confused about needing to make an appointment to ask a question I made the comment "To ask a question?" The lady was right there and heard my comment. Her response, which seemed a little snide, was "I can help you if it's a quick question." So I asked her my question which was "What is the difference in bronzer colors?" The look she had the entire time I was elaborating on my question was condescending. She told me it was due to light to darker skin colors and that I should stick with the light colors. I thanked her and went on my way to finish my shopping. I get to the register to check out and immediately I am told they do not accept JcPenney's Sephora Gift Cards. That was shocking and a little disappointing. So my Dad and I thanked her and left the store without making a purchase to go to the JcPenney's Sephora to make my purchase. JcPenney's is on the other side of the mall past the Cheesecake Factory, so taking the car was all for naught except now we would have to walk back all the way to Sephora after. We finally get to JcPenney's and go to the Sephora located there. All the items I wanted were OUT OF STOCK. Again my dad, wanting to help, went and asked the lady at the register if they possibly had them in stock in the back. She told him no and told him that I would have to order them online. I had reached my breaking point by this time and told her, quite rudely I'll admit (I was mad and shouldn't have taken it out on her) that I would just go home and order online. So we left the store and walked all the way back to the other Sephora to get to our car and go back to my place. Not making the connection, I hop online to order the products I'd been trying to obtain all night. Guess what? The Sephora website, like the store (again I should've made the connection), doesn't accept JcPenney Gift Cards. So I had to go to the JcPenney's website to FINALLY make my purchases. So instead of getting my products tonight, like I hoped and was excited for, I now have to wait until February 2nd - 6th. This is very disheartening to me because I was excited to get products from my (ex)favorite store for my birthday, but now have to wait until next month. This will be the last purchase I ever make from Sephora. This is also disheartening because I was a VIB with Sephora and worked hard with many purchases to reach that status. Really really disappointing :/ I am sephora rouge reward point holder, which means that I love sephora so much that I like to do a lot shopping here. Never have had an issue with them before until now. The service was rude, uninformative and when I asked for more information they would just give me a yes or no...No explanation. The first women that helped had no advice or information about a hydrating mask. I asked about a brand and she showed it to me and just stood, no explanation about the product what so ever. I asked for a sample and gives me a look like "really?", as if I'm bothering her or as if I just come for samples to cheat them. Which obviously I don't go there for just samples because then I wouldn't have any rewards lady! So then I ask for help again and express how the service I had was not very pleasant. Which they do send someone.. The second lady came off nice, she recommended Glam glow which I told her I wasn't a fan of. She then goes on a productive product screen and looks for information on the products. Frustrated because I could easily do that home on my computer, I asked her "have you used any of these products other than Glam glow? " she responds by yes I have been working for this many years and this and that with attitude. My mouth dropped, I wasn't trying to be rude, just wanted to know what else she liked . I told her how disappointed I was in her and the other service I got, which she apologized for. At least she felt bad and she tried to make it up by giving me samples. But I really didn't want samples of things that I had no interest in. So I declined and it put me in a sour mood that I didn't want to experience another disapproving service. So I left. I went to Sephora in Phoenix at the Village and purchased hundreds of $$ of products because I got service. Every time I try to use my home town ABQ Sephora, no service. I'll have to wait in line to get a color match on foundation (a product overlooked in the PHX store). Lots of ladies who work for Sephora walking around but they can't help.
