I love this Sephora! I do try to avoid going to this Sephora because I always end up leaving with more goodies than planned. It's hard not to when they have EVERYTHING. Growing up a makeup obsessed kid, this location healed my soul... I would spend HOURS here without even trying. This was my absolute favorite location as it was the only one nearby that carried Clé De Peau (now CDP is not sold at any U.S. Sephoras) & Pat McGrath makeup line! If you know, you know. Today, I came to pick up some makeup that I've finally hit pan on. I'm glad that everything I was looking for was in stock, in the shades I needed. All the sales associates were super knowledgeable on the products the store carries & are very helpful. Tori, a Haus Labs associate, assisted me with finding my shade in the foundation, as well as helping me find a blush shade that would complement my skin complexion best. Since I got $75+ worth of makeup from Haus Labs today, I was gifted an eyeshadow palette from the brand, which comes with 3 shimmer shades & 3 matte shadows. Super excited to use it! Top line: Excellent make-up artists who excel despite terrible management. They excel not only in their craft, but also in communication and customer relations -- something management could learn from. It was a rollercoaster of an experience, but Frankie's incredible skill made it worth it, even in stressful circumstances. Full story: I had a full-face appointment scheduled with Sephora (via the website) that I later rescheduled over the phone to be 45 minutes earlier (at 3:45pm). I received a confirmation email reflecting the new time. When I arrived around 3:40pm to the correct area, there was no one there. A helpful staff member (Jennifer) noticed my confusion and helped me check in. Shortly after this, Jennifer let me know about a mix-up: my appointment was still 4:30pm in the system, not 3:45pm. Jennifer communicated this really kindly, and I showed her pictures of the confirmation email along with a record of the call I had with Sephora 2 days prior. Jennifer was really kind and did a great job trying to find the right people to help me with this, never once showing me any hostility. She did everything she could, looping in other staff members when she could. As time went on, I became worried about being late for the event I was attending. I went to ask for an update, and was directed to a store manager, Aiden. This is where things took a turn for the worse. As I was walking over to Aiden, other staff members tried to help, and Aiden wouldn't listen to any of them, and they eventually walked away. She was very unfriendly to me from the very beginning of the conversation, even before I had a chance to explain. Cold and authoritative, she made me feel like I was the one at fault. She even went so far as to check the time and say, "If your appointment was at 3:45pm, and it's 4:18pm now, where were you?" - implying that I had been too late! I had been sitting over in the beauty studio that entire time. At this point, Jennifer came over to try and help me explain. This was when things got Really weird, and very unprofessional: Aiden forcefully talked over Jennifer with aggressive body language and wouldn't let her help me. Apparently Jennifer had essentially been told to "stay in her lane." Taking initiative to help customers and other team members is something valuable, and, whether Jennifer was "supposed to" do this or not, it helped me have a better experience. Aiden was, by far, the worst part of this. As she was borderline fighting with Jennifer, I interrupted to let her know that I liked Jennifer better - a little childish on my part - but the open confrontation was making me really uncomfortable. In what world should a customer have to play peacemaker between staff members? Aiden stormed off, and I was relieved to not have to deal with her anymore. A few minutes later, a different store manager came over to help. I re-explained the situation to her, and she was a lot more professional. However, there was still a really weird vibe, and she also told me that Jennifer wasn't supposed to be helping me. Why is a manager making it my business to know the internal politics of her store? Also, how are things so poorly managed despite having TWO managers? At the end of the day, this all speak to poor management and organization. Mistakes were made in multiple areas (for example, the confirmation email I received actually said it was 3:45pm for the following day -- something I missed, and something the scheduler on the phone also missed), but it seemed like almost all of the blame was being cast on Jennifer, who was just trying to help. The scheduling error was not her fault. There were communication break downs in multiple areas, which, again, is ultimately a failure in management. Smooth logistics and organization are the primary reasons for managers... right? Any of Jennifer's mistakes and other "insubordination" should not be my business. She was helpful to me. I spoke with a few other staff members (I don't remember their names) who Jennifer pulled in to help, and they were also very kind to me. Everyone in this store is kind and professional... except management. Frankie remained incredibly calm and unaffected by the store drama and politics. Something Aiden could learn from: remaining professional under stress. This has been my favorite Sephora location for over a year now, and I walk extra far to get there. The staff there has helped me pick out several great products that I wouldn't have bought otherwise. Sadly, I probably won't go there for a while: because of Aiden. My hope is that she will either change her attitude or perhaps explore other opportunities that might suit her temperament more appropriately. When I called this location, I explained my situation ( I was a hot mess) and they told me to come in. As soon as I walked in and said who I was. Still searching for Gucci cosmetics and after the terrible experience at Saks, I decided to check out Sephora. After a bit of wandering around, I discovered they had everything I was looking for in-stock. I had traveled around RI looking for the ever difficult to find Gucci Beauty collection and finally, there it was. ....and I bought nothing. Despite not being busy, having plenty of sales associates available and being beautifully spacious, not a single person welcomed me in or asked me if I needed help. It's one thing to not be noticed, it's another thing to be ignored. When I walked in no one said a word, but when the woman behind me stepped in, two different associates welcomed her and immediately asked if she was looking for something. While I was looking around, several associates passed me while I was solo in the aisle, and not a single one said a word. And while I was colour testing the Gucci powder, another sales associate came down the aisle to tidy something and immediately asked another customer in the opposite aisle if they needed help. Yeah, no thanks. It takes a lot to disgust me but Sephora, you did it. Employees are always so helpful whenever I come into this place and I really appreciate that. Was just stopping by since I was window shopping that evening. I went to the prudential center to go to the Mac store since it was raining and it was an indoor branch. I got the lipstick I wanted and then stopped by the papyrus card place to grab something for friends and then decided that I still don't want to go home so I stopped by Sephora on the other side of the building. I had an awful experience at this location. I was trying out perfumes when an employee approached and asked if I needed any help. When I said I was just browsing, she made a remark along the lines of "You've been in this area for a while," stood very close to me without mask on, and seemed to suggest that I should either leave or offer an explanation for browsing their products. Her manner made me feel really unwelcome, and I couldn't help but notice that there were white customers who was also trying out the perfumes in the same area, but the employee didn't approach them to question their presence. I like shopping alone, I ask for help when needed, so I wasn't assisted by anyone while shopping; however I was offered assistance and a basket for the items I was holding. Went into Sephora for a 60-minute makeup session with Maria M and was extremely pleased and impressed by her expertise and advice. First of all - I had to change my originally scheduled appointment and there was nothing available on line that I could switch to - but when I called the store directly, I spoke to Maria M - and she helped reschedule my appointment. I had recently lightened my hair and my makeup wasn't looking right anymore - so I needed advice. I'm also on zoom calls quite frequently and wasn't really liking the way I looked on the calls - too made up - too done. I wanted something more natural. The Sephora at the Prudential Center gave me a wonderful shopping experience. I recently had my makeup bag stolen from me, so I was in need of everything under the sun. As soon as I had a question, I got ahold of Gladys, who gave me wonderful assistance in finding the product(s) for me and an overall lovely conversation. Multiple times throughout my time there, I had help from employees who were instantly knowledgeable about my needs and willing to assist. It's one of those places where you can go up to a representative and say: "Hi, I'm looking for this. This is a terrific Sephora. The customer service is crazy good. I came in to buy a travel sized facial moisturizer. The one I packed made my skin bright red. The skincare sales person recommended a product that would calm my skin down but it only came in a very large (and expensive) size. When I told her that I only needed it for a few days and then I would go back to my regular products at home, she made 2 samples of the moisturizer for me. Totally terrific! Sephora is great if you know what you want and just want to buy and leave. Otherwise, the collection is overwhelming. Took a friend to her first Sephora; it was my first visit to this location. We were overstimulated. As the others have said, this crowds are scary and annoying. And we too noticed, as others have, that the employees have makeup that we would NOT want to emulate. If I test makeup here, I do it on my hand or arm, never on my face. I've seen the 'tweens head to the samples after lunch in the food court, rub their unwashed fingers into samples, and put it on their faces. and I know NEVER to share makeup in the first place. So we were aghast when an employee put eyeliner on my friend, then put the same eyeliner on her own eyes without even sharpening the pencil. She must get eye infections every other day! She also told my friend to put liner on the inside of her eyelid--who does that? Oh yeah...people who don't mind having a stye every week or so! I like the one-stop shopping, but for testing new products I'll head to the pushy department store counter for cleaner products. As cliche as the saying is, being in Sephora for me is like being a 'kid in a candy store'. Seriously. I have converted from being a strictly online Sephora shopper. I forgot how fun it is to actually visit the store. First of all, it can be a bit overwhelming- especially if it's crowded. However somehow through all the chaos you still find someone to help you. The customer service here is fantastic- Sephora obviously knows what they're doing when they hire people- they are all knowledgeable in different fields. Here is what my situation went like: I walked into Sephora looking for a good reliable foundation and a few skincare products- including a new moisturizer. First I approached a nice blonde girl who started talking to me about the foundations, and then handed me over to another girl who was the "skincare expert" and could help me pick out some products. Now, I too know a thing or too about esthetics and skincare, and I could tell this girl knew what she was talking about (she also mentioned she worked at a dermatologist office as well). She picked out a great exfoliator for me, told me it would last me 8 months, and also helped me pick out a great moisturizer that wasn't too expensive (in fact she stressed that the cost isn't always the indicator of the quality) THEN, she passed me to another lovely girl who was apparently the "makeup expert" and helped me pick out a great HD foundation, then she brought me to her makeup chair, put it on me with my consent, and basically ultimately gave me a full makeover. The foundation was perfect, and she didn't pressure me to buy anything else but did grab any other products I wanted for me so all I had to do was sit there and she came back with a basket full of goodies. THEN I got a few free gifts at the checkout- one for being a Beauty Insider member (and they are great gifts- I got a Laura Mercier primer), and one for uh.. I guess purchasing a lot of makeup? I dunno. Basically going there is seriously like being in a toystore as a kid as another Yelper mentioned. You will leave with a lighter wallet, sure- but everything here is high quality- especially the staff's knowledge and customer service. I am absolutely shocked. I have never been treated so poorly by someone who is hired to help you. My friend and I went in to get color matched and we asked someone to help us. She treated us like we had never used make up before and also rudely pointed out all of our flaws. It was as if she thought by pointing out acne and dark spots it would make us buy more products. Sephora rocks!!!! I had bought a facial toning device about 10 months ago that I had kept putting off trying. Then I read that it could cause broken capillaries in people prone to that, and might not interact so well with Botox. I just got a treatment dive for broken capillaries, plus I use Botox, so I was worried. Plus I thought I had probably been foolish to buy it in the first place. And it was expensive ! So I decided to see if I could return it . I was afraid the people there would think I was a jerk for trying to return something after such a long time , but the cashier was very nice, and I got my money back! I think that is awesome . Great location and lots of staff here to help you out while you're shopping. I noticed that this location is a lot busier than some of the other locations I've been to but considering the amount of people in the area that the store is in it's no surprise. I met a couple of really good sales people and they had a lot of good advice on how to get the most out of their products. One thing I did notice is that they didn't have a self service scanner so you can verify the prices on their items but one of the women who I dealt with had some type of a hand held device and was able to look up the prices for me with that and even was able to figure out the price that I was going to be paying with my Sephora Rouge discount. All of the other locations that I have shopped at so far have scanners mounted on the wall so you can at least get the full retail prices of their items but not this one. They have a kiosk set up there to pay at if you're using a credit card so you don't necessarily have to stand in line at the registers. They have products here that the location that is closer to my house no longer carries so I think that from now on I will definitely shop here. The sales clerks that I dealt with were all really nice and complimented me on my Rouge status. For those of you who don't know they have a loyalty program that is tiered and you can go from Beauty Insider to VIB to VIB Rouge. The more you buy there in a calendar year the higher your status. You get points for every dollar you spend and you get rewards and benefits based on your status. The higher your status, the more benefits you get. They had everything pretty well stocked and the store was neat and clean. But the best thing that I liked here was the staff. They were more helpful than any staff in any location that I've ever been to and they were the best. read more

Thinking the Prudential would have the best employees representing Sephora in Boston due to the clientele I have tried multiple times to gain knowledge and assistance on products. Still to this day I have yet to receive any genuine care or proper help. Most every time I walk in no one gives me the time of day, so I leave. This Sephora is MASSIVE. They carry SO many brands that even most other freestanding Sephoras don't have in store (Guerlain, Tom Ford, Kevyn Aucoin, to name only a few). Any time I've come in the employees have been helpful when I approached them with a question. I'm taking off a star because there's been numerous times I will ask an employee a question and they give me the wrong answer (ie: the other day I asked if they had the new Natasha Denona palette in stock and TWO employees told me that they "definitely don't have it", but then I walk up to pay and it's literally on my way to the register on an end cap). Also, if you go during a busy time of day/weekend be prepared to be bumped into numerous times by clueless shoppers. read more

Love Sephora, but absolutely disappointed with this location and their customer service. I would agree with others that it is a hit or miss whether anyone will help you. Today, however, I was left incredulous at the rude, asinine way the cashier talked to me when I tried to make a return. I just missed the 60 day return (it was 61 days, which is no big deal to me as I would use the store credit to buy more things anyway) but the cashier, RENI, is TERRIBLE. She barely understands how to use a computer and because she was unable to find my purchase she accused me of buying this over a year ago. She then tried to say that I had used over half the bottle of foundation so I would not be able to return it (but tell me how can you make a subjective estimation of that when the bottle is not even see through?) Though I can respect their company policies, she was a complete jerk and was accusatory from the start. Not my fault if you can't use a computer. Perhaps we should tone down your eyeshadow so you can see better. Sorrynotsorry that I'm still #salty. Anyway, I will end it by saying there was a lovely employee who did assist her and actually knew how to talk to customers (and use a computer). So thank you to her for assisting with the exchange. They staff there is so rude. I went in about 30 minutes before closing and was just browsing for a specific contour stick. The girl told me they close in 5-10 minutes and said the register is in the front. I said I was just looking for something and was going to check out in a few minutes. They have a great selection of make up, skin care, fragrances, even hair care, all Sephoras do, at least the ones I've been to. I've been to this one a few times, received excellent service except for my most recent visit. I just wanted to test some perfume, with the intention of purchasing it if I liked it. The woman who greeted me seemed ok, I told her I was just there for a particular perfume and she sent me to where it was. But there were no test strips, just kleenex to spray it on. I asked her for a test strip and she said they were out. Then I asked if they had the perfume I wanted in stock, I didn't see bottles, just a tester bottle. When she produced a tester bottle of another, I put down the bottle that was in my hand ( that I was going to buy) so I could spray the other one and she promptly grabbed it and put it away! As if I was going to steal it or something. Once I got everything back and was headed to checkout, she hands me some test strips!!! I wanted to find my perfect shade with foundation so I had my friend to ask how I could my perfect shade to an employee which he was just talking to another of his co worker and seemed mad how we were just asking for help. He was rude from the moment we asked. He kept asking what foundation we were looking for, and I told him I don't know anything that could really match my shade.
