No amount of online shopping--especially for makeup--can replace the value of going in person to a Sephora location. When I'm spending my hard-earned money, it's important to me to feel attended to and to have an enjoyable, personalized experience. While there were a few employees who could benefit from additional training in etiquette and customer care, there were also standout team members who clearly care about their customers and are genuinely passionate about what they do. It's always a mixed bag with this store. I have received absolutely amazing customer service and I have received subpar customer service. My best interaction was bringing my mom in for some makeup. She typically shops for her products at the mall and stores like Sephora have never enticed her to discover what they have to offer. The customer service on this visit was phenomenal. They walked around with her after listening to her preferences and had her try different things. She'll definitely be coming back. However, I've also had experiences where customer service has been embarassing, with individuals acting like they shouldn't be bothered to help. My favorite is when they help you, but act like they have a million things on their list that are more important than, I dunno, making a sale? Either way, it's the closest Sephora to me so I'm there often. I just know that customer service will not always be fantastic, but they're usually prompt and typically not unfriendly. read more

Literally the worst Sephora. I often feel incredibly uncomfortable in Sephora's but this one is the worst and it has been horrible for years. The employees will follow you around or at least this is my experience. They follow me around. They are constantly trying to get me to talk to them and just regularly making me feel uncomfortable and they are often very, very rude. The few times I have asked for help they don't care to do their job. They're rude about it and almost always the color matches off. They also have way too many employees in the store at one the fully licensed Sephora that has everything and so it is busy but the amount of employees that are in there take up most of the space. After my last experience, I always say this, but I don't think I'll ever go back to the store. I'm just going to buy everything online. As a queer and Mexican person I want to feel safe shopping in a store and not like the employees are following me around like a criminal. read more

This is kind of funny review but I am slightly irritated. I took my nephew to get some face stuff for his teenage skin. The first girl who helped us around the store to find some of her favourite was so amazing. She knew her stuff and recommended the best products for my nephew with great explanations of why each one was important. We spent quite a bit of money in the store so when we got to the counter of course we asked for some samples and the idiot gave my nephew some butt cream and some eye cream. Like who gives that rubbish to a 13 year old boy? Where's the cologne and men's skin care products. So weird. read more

I am totally digging this Sephora store at Promenade at Briargate shopping mall. It's probably one of the best and most well kept and fully stocked Sephora stores I've ever shopped at. From friendly, helpful sales associates to very clean and well stocked shelves with lots to choose from. I don't think I have ever seen such a well managed and put together store in my life! It's actually very impressive and refreshing-- because it's easy to find items. And if they happen to run out of something you need they will ship it for free to your house. Now how convenient is that? I've found everything I needed at this Sephora lately which makes my cosmetics shopping a breeze. I've found Argan Oil from J Marin skin care line and many beautiful chalk shadows from a new cosmetics line called Milk which is a cruelty free brand. Last month I also found a beautiful stick perfume I never thought existed until I found it at Sephora and it's one of my favorites now. It's definitely a 2 thumbs way way up for Sephora! read more

As some have already mentioned, non-existent customer service for older clientele. I am in my mid-50s with income to spend and was completely ignored by at least 4 different associates. No greeting when I came in; no "thanks for coming in" when I left. I walked around the store for at least 45 minutes just to see if anyone would offer to help me. Not one associate offered to help, but I watched as time and time again, associates walked by me as if I were invisible but did offer to help other, younger individuals, and no, they were not busy. Sephora is missing out on a huge demographic by choosing to ignore older individuals. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I scheduled a makeup service with Charly this past weekend for my engagement photos. Charly asked a lot of questions to figure out my skin care routine, what look I wanted, and the vibe of the photo shoot. She took her time getting the correct shade for my foundation and concealer. I have acne that I struggle to cover up but she covered it up flawlessly. My makeup stayed in place for the entire shoot and it was even sprinkling on us. Overall, I highly recommend Charly for any makeup service. read more

Sadly disappointed in this Sephora location - and this past weekend was the straw that broke the camel's back :( I'd made an appointment online for a noon session on Easter Sunday; this was for my professional headshots later that day. I attempted to call prior to the appointment to ensure they'd be open, but I could never reach a live person. There was no info online saying they'd be closed and I got several text messages confirming my appointment. I show up 10 mins prior and the store doors are locked; all the lights were on, however, and there was no sign indicating they were closed for Easter. I try calling the store again and never reach a live person despite multiple attempts and different phone-tree options. I wait until 5 after 12 and still nothing. I have to rush home in order to do my own makeup before my photoshoot. Awful business practice, Sephora Briargate. Their stock of Dior makeup is also very "hit or miss." I've stopped by on at least 2 separate occasions where they didn't have the lip gloss needed. The employees have been luke-warm at best, but nice enough to earn 2 stars. I just love the staff here and no matter who helps me they are above and beyond! They give me great advice and show me products that are exactly what I'm looking for and I love all the rewards that you get for purchases, your birthday, etc...which are absolutely perfect for travel and that little backup makeup bag you need for work or in your purse. They have really done a great job of gradually re-opening during Covid and being mindful of social distancing and safety precautions and I just can't say enough good things about this place! read more

They don't open until 11 on the weekends. Why? What kind of business model is that? I'm sitting outside waiting for them to open and watching them have to let every single employee in personally. This Sephora is a mess. Honestly, everything in Colorado Springs is insanely subpar to Denver. I'd recommend taking the time to go to Park Meadows instead of here. Everything you can get in the Springs is inferior to what you can get in Denver. Love Sephora but for some reason these employees don't want you to buy anything. Almost every employee came up to me and asked if I needed something and while I was talking to them they would take a previous item out of my basket and try to put it away. I would tell them "pls put that back in here for multiple things" and they said "we will put it up at the register". This happened with 4 DIFFERENT EMPLOYEES. One of the other things I was looking for was a face mask by Peter Thomas Roth. I was out of one of them. I had bought the vault for myself for Christmas the year before. The employee that came up to me at the time asked if she could help "I held the basket away" I told her what I was looking for and she told me "why on earth would you use that!?" Like what the heck is going on in this location. I get to the register to check out and none of the 8 items they had taken from me were there. They had been put away. It seems that every time I go into this location they profile me, proceed to follow me around and assume I'm stealing. As I was going to test a sample the manager comes up and rudely tells me I need assistance and when I let her know I'm fine she proceeds to stay in the exact same spot and stare at me. I went in the other day, not a single worker greeted me or helped me. I needed help trying to find the right shade. I didn't know how it worked especially since during covid they wouldn't let you try the testers. But since no one was there to help me I just used the testers anyways. It was in the middle of the week around 11 so it was super slow. It was just really rude that no one even looked my way. All I got was a have a good day on my way out. If you have fair skin, ask for Audrey. She can walk you around the store and point out the best colors and products for that skin tone. She helped me out immensely today (it was my first time in a Sephora and I wanted to overhaul my makeup)! I really hope she's still working there the next time I go back. Many of the other employees are dark or have olive complections and they tend to recommend colors they like, but that don't necessarily look amazing on fair skin. If there had been a survey at the bottom of my receipt I would have raved about Audrey. This will have to do. I'm a Rouge member that visits this Sephora pretty frequently and after two years of going in about once a month or more I can tell you the customer service in this location is so hit or miss. I'm in pretty often that I recognize most of the regular staff. There are two girls that are ALWAYS so extremely amazing and helpful, one of them is Bri and the other girl is short and has darker skin, but I can't remember her name. I usually visit this location because it has a larger skin care selection that the JCP Sephora. I've been followed around in this store while in my work uniform and "watched" while there was only one other customer in the store. I've had associates roll their eyes at me when I've returned product that didn't work for me. I even went in asking for skin care advice for a new face wash, because the one I had been using by Peter Thomas Roth was discontinued, and a lady just put a $50 cleanser in my hand and walked away. When I asked if I could try it out first before I dropped a bunch of money on something I've never tried before I was met with hesitation and she acted like I was bothering her. I also was pushed into purchasing a a particular brand while I was checking out another brand, but then when I looked at the associates name tag, I noticed she was a brand representative, so beware of those people. On the other hand, I've had also had really good experiences getting help with color matching and not feeling pressured to buy anything until I got to try the samples I received. I've had the two ladies previously mentioned, Bri, and the other young lady, help me on multiple occasion and they have been so informative and never pushy. When I was struggling to find a new foundation after the one I had been using didn't match me anymore, both of them took the time to figure out what I was looking for and and what would work for my skin. I've gotten great foundation, powder, facial oil, eye shadow palette and lip color recommendations from the both of them and I was very happy with the customer service I received. It's just so hard to know if I'm going to be left alone on a day when I want to browse at this location, while I'm looking to spend some extra money I have left over, or if I do need help if I'm going to get it or be treated as a nuisance. I really only go into this store anymore to be able to swatch or look at Sephora exclusives in person (KVD, Fresh, etc), and I would say I probably do 80% of my shopping on Sephora's website where I don't have to worry about dealing with the people that work in the store. Some times I even drive all the way up to Park Meadows Mall, because at least when I go in that location I know I will be left alone when I just want to browse. I am a loyal customer to Sephora, which can be validated by my rouge membership, but if it weren't for brands like KVD and Fresh I probably would've switched all of my shopping I do here to Ulta. I've started buying all my Too Face, Tarte, ABH, etc products from Ulta 1. because the loyalty program is 1000x better. I saved $20 on my ABH Modern Ren palette, because of the points I had stocked up. You actually feel like you are being rewarded as a customer, and the hair and skin care events are excellent 2. Ulta carries a bigger selection of hair products 3. because at least at the briargate Ulta I never have to be worry for how I'm going to be treated. It's almost the same two ladies in the high end of the store and they are excellent 100% of the time. read more

Every time I've been in this store, the help has been completely absent. Even when there are many employees in the store - most often not assisting anyone else - no one ever offers to help me. The one time an employee did help me, she did so reluctantly. I don't wear much makeup, and I'm not usually wearing any when I come into the store, and I've almost always needed help picking, and I've always had to ask. Even when I checkout, the employees talk among themselves, and never acknowledge me. I gotta say, this Sephora has a FANTASTIC manager. Jen was amazing. She saved my life! Okay, maybe not my life, but definitely my eyes. Let me explain... I went in on Wednesday to buy a specific eye serum that has turned out to be the only eye serum I can use without my eyes watering and itching and turning red like I've been hanging out in a hot box. Needless to say, this was an emergency trip to Sephora. I went in, got my serum and then went to grab some Laura Mercier make up while I was there. The gal stocking the Laura Mercier was super friendly and gave me some samples of a lip gloss I haven't tried yet, and also a sample of a scrub that I've bought in the past, and loved. She then helped me find the perfect shade of cover up and concealer and gave me some good tips on how to maximize the benefit of the product I was buying. I made my way to the check-out and uber friendly cashier chatted with me about the weather and my purchases and made sure I got my beauty points and all that jazz. And here comes the awful part... On Friday night I finally went to open up my beautiful little black striped bag with the delightful treasures inside... and lo and behold, I can't find the eye serum!!!! AAAAAAHHHHH No no no no!!!! I ripped the bag apart. I shredded the red tissue paper everything was wrapped in, just hoping it was hiding in there somewhere. But, nope. Thinking I was going to be treated like a loser and a liar I hesitatingly called the store Saturday morning and Jen answered the phone. I explained the situation and she promised to look into it and call me back. I fretted all day over it, and then finally I received a call back. Jen had personally looked up all of my purchase history and investigated the matter. She found that I indeed paid for the eye serum and also discovered that it had been left at the counter the day I bought it. She set it aside for me and told me I could come get it whenever I was able. Yippeee!!!! I rushed right over and the gentleman that was there was again very friendly and helpful. No problems whatsoever. Thank you JEN!!! I am an extremely happy customer. You have earned my business for all my future makeup purchases!!! You and your team went above and beyond. This Sephora location has the friendliest employees out of any Sephora I have ever been to. I was greeted at the door upon arrival and asked what I was looking for in the store today. I was there for a 45 min makeover for my engagement photos that were being taken that day. BB was my beauty specialist and did a fantastic job making me feel my very best! Dropped a pretty penny here. You always will. If it's price you're concerned about, buy online. But if you want to check out your products and get good customer service, you're good here. It's a Sephora. There will be a few good deals, but for the most part it's going to be pricey. But you'll get good quality for what you buy. Customer service here was good. I feel bad this is the first review of this store, but I am just going to tell it how it is. I love Sephora and have shopped at Sephoras around the world...London, Prague, Seoul, NYC... I have always been treated well and felt the staff to be helpful and knowledgeable about the products. This store lacks those qualities. No one is super rude, but they are not knowledgeable or helpful. Conversations go something like this: Me: Do you have any hair mousse you would recommend? Staff Member: I don't think we have hair mousse. Me: Really? I think I have seen some here before. (She found one and left me. I found another and ended up buying that one.) Me: What are the products you have available for Beauty Insider points? Staff Member: They are in there. (pointing at the box at the front register) Me: What are they? (no response from the girl at the register, so I opted out) I have had more of these types of conversations, but I will spare you. I don't expect staff members to know everything, but I wish they would put in some effort to answer my questions instead of leaving me hanging. On another visit, I was given a VIB card. I was happy to have the new card, but wanted to make sure I would be able to keep the one thousand Beauty Insider points I had on my regular card. It's a lot of points! The staff member assured me she would transfer them. Well, it is a good thing I didn't throw the original card out because she didn't transfer any of my points so I had no points on the VIB card! In addition, it always takes awhile for anyone to ask me if I need help and they also never give me any free samples. I find that odd because I have always been given samples at Sephora and I always drop one hundred dollars or more, so I think I qualify. Do I need to ask for samples at this store? Anyway, I have decided to avoid this store from now on. I do like the service I get at the mini Sephora in JCP on Powers, so I will try to shop there. While they did point me in the direction of good products, there was no offer to do my color iq (I've been in this sephora many times and I've never been asked), or help me find a suitable color...or even to try out product on me! I felt like I was interrupting makeup artist social hour. It was Friday afternoon at 3...it was dead. I'm sure if I'd asked I would've been told I needed to make an appt. This location Dr. Jart selection is horrible compared to other Sephora's I've been to (Houston, San Antonio, Reno). They keep reducing supplies. The Sephora 'point' perk selections are always out of stock or really low. I love Sephora, but will not drive up from south Colorado Springs to Briargate again. The ladies and gents are always friendly, incredibly helpful, and never hesitate to give me information on products and even hand me samples to try before I invest.
