I called on a Saturday and usually most places are extremely busy and booked for weeks out. The receptionist was able to schedule me today since there was an cancellation. I come in and the place is beautiful, clean and quiet. You can tell they take pride in their presentation and they had customers coming in and out which let me know people were pleased. Jessica was the one who did my facial, I decided to get the dermabrasion to help with some scarring and discoloration I was having. Jessica was extremely profesional and knowledgable about what was best for my skin. She took her time and actually made this session so relaxing that I actually went to sleep, LOL! It was so peaceful and the rooms are set up to make you feel rested and comfortable. The sessions are about an hour and you can instantly see the improvements. Like most places they try to sell you products but here that did not happen. Their honesty and professionalism will make me a recurring costumer. Over the years, TWB had become a space where I felt safe, particularly because my experiences there had always been with women. I've had traumatic experiences in the past that have led me to intentionally seek out women-only spaces whenever possible, which is why this interaction affected me so strongly. With the additional context, I recognize that my original characterization was stronger than warranted and understand now that the questions were part of the business's standard process. In hindsight, I think there was a misunderstanding on both sides of the encounter. I've been cut before, bleeding, pain for days...and I have confidence I won't be dealing with that this time. They do hurt a bit still and are pretty sore but I feel like it's not near as bad as I've experienced. I'm hoping next time the tech will be a bit more gentler as she was tugging pretty hard and I got scared for a second so next time I will just ask to go easier.
