Some of the products here are excellent- particularly the skin care, Urban Decay and Makeup Forever. Their house line, Sephora, has, IMHO: -Excellent eyeshadow that lasts a long time, -bad lipgloss that is not highly pigmented and is expensive -great nail polish that is long wearing. - great bath products and skin creams I would stick with the eyeshadows, skin creams, bath products, and nail polishes in Sephora line. I haven't tried the foundations or eyeliners or mascaras. The one in Green Hills is way better than the one in Cool Springs. The Green Hills store is larger. It has Makeup Forever products- renowned by drag queens for not coming off. They also have an extremely large false eyelash selection in Makeup Forever. Some of my favorites are Lorac, Urban Decay, and Benefit. The skin care selection is the best. At Green Hills they give you 2-3 free samples like they are supposed to when you buy something. At Cool Springs, they never give you the three free samples they are supposed to give you when you buy something. I don't know why; they are sitting right there at the counter. I shopped there four times in a month and they never gave them to me. Finally I said "ugh" and just started going to the Green Hills one, or on the website, where you get to pick what samples they send you- especially with Sephora's prices. read more

Employees seem more interested in giggling with one another & doing their own makeup in front of the mirrors than helping any customers. Trying to get their attention away from their own reflection is like pulling teeth. read more

I always have a good experience at sephora. I love that they guarantee their products so if you end up not liking the color you bought you can return it. However, be careful at the JCP store. I asked the lady if I didn't like the eye shaddow pallet if I could return it to the green hills store. She told me I could. However, when I tried to return it I found this was not the case. However, the manager at the Green Hills store was very nice and foudn a way to credit back my card. The employee I had before the manager was not so nice though. read more

The customer service is great, and the CSR's really spend time helping you find whatever you need. I usually have some preconceived notion of what I want, but the CSR's always sell me what looks best on me. I like how the store is clean and bright. I love shopping on line at sephora.com, but the store is a better experience. However, I went today and spent $200 and didn't get my Beauty Rewards gift. :( I will have to call customer service. This store is great, pretty large store well lit and makeup, perfume, bath supplies are everywhere. I was greeted at the front door who I brushed off and thought I could find what I was looking for myself. This turned out not to be the case and I had to go find someone to assist me. The salesperson was very nice, I was looking for Urban Decay eye shadow potion, it was semi-hidden in the display area, and the actual package wasn't restocked so she had to get it for me from the case. Very friendly and apologized. I then asked for some advice on facial cream and I got the right girl, she took me over and spent a good ten minutes talking pro's and cons about different products and I left happy. Cons, it can be hard to find what you are looking for, the line to checkout is long and they don't have a lot of people running the register. Also the whole store smells like perfume and it begins to wear on you after awhile. Pros, they have a large selection of hard to find brands for us ladies, and a lot of guy's skincare products. If I had someone special I'd totally check here when shopping for a unique present. Also their sales people are friendly. read more

I had only just gotten really into makeup and beauty products about a year ago. Before that, honestly most Sephoras and the employees were intimidating. Not here! Julie was SO sweet and fun to work with. She color matched my friend and I with their software and worked to find us both foundations for our skin types. i love sephora. i'd rather spend tons of money here than on clothes, jewelry, food...good thing i don't have to buy oxygen. i agree with some of the other reviews regarding service though, it's very hit and miss. fortunately for me, most of the time, i don't need help, i have my skin care regime i've stuck to for the past 10 years. most of the time, i only need help regarding make-up. my most recent trip here, i was looking to spend my VIB rogue status gift card, i could have only bought the new urban decay naked 3 pallet, but, noooooo, i decided i wanted more! in the store's defense, it was really crowded (2 weeks before Christmas), and there were many who appeared to be in more need of help than me. anyhow, after narrowly escaping an panic attack from the crowd, i smiled at a nice young chap, and asked him if he could help me with a foundation. he set me up with a sweet girl who used their skin id matching thing (some weird computerized wand they put on your skin and the computer then tells you what shades from various brands you should wear). they were able to point me to several brands that don't torture, maim, and kill sweet animals for their final product. the rep for this brand happened to be in the store on this day too, and she was an incredible help. we chatted about poverty issues and how they impact women in the world. --did you know, josie maran (the line i bought products from) pays their female workers who gather the materials in field for them not just fair wages (for that country), but fair american wages! supporting women in need is greatly on my heart and a part of who i am, so i will probably stick with this brand from now on. p.s. check this out: http://www.josiemarancosmetics.com/luxury-with-a-conscience.html seriously. support women and nature. read more

I walked into the Sephora in Green Hills in search of a particular line. After browsing the front of the store for a good five minutes I had to hunt an employee down for assistance. I asked if they carried the line and was immediately told "no" as the employee turned and walked the other way. I stood for a second not sure what had just happened. Not only did the employee rudely respond to my question but offered no help in finding a similar line or even asking what product I was looking for. It was just a simple brow pencil of all things, I'm sure Sephora would have a couple great choices. I was amazed at the rudeness of the employee and lack of help in finding a product. I always shop there but may make the effort to head out to Ulta where the staff has always been willing to help with any question or product. read more

I needed my makeup done plus just wanted to try new stuff I usually go to MAC but I have wanted a change. The reviews about the staff made me worried this would be unpleasant and I have had rude or unhelpful staff at other beauty stores but that was not the case here. I am not the cliental for anywhere at green hills I am not rich, no fashion sense, pink hair with a tote bag as a purse. I walked in and was pleasantly greeted by different staff. Kelsey (hope I am remembering that right) did my makeup and she did an AMAZING job. Exactly what I was looking for I didn't feel uncomfortable she easy to talk to and seemed sincere. I ended up getting foundation, bright blush and eye makeup (to go with my hair) OCC lipgloss (the best colors need to go back and buy them all.) It ended up costing less that I expected and I wish I would have bought everything she used now that I think about it. I got my samples, which I didn't even ask for (only mentioning because some people complained they didn't.) I will mention this was in the middle of the week during the day so maybe that is why I got great customer service? But honestly while I was getting my makeup done Kelsey helped other customers without leaving me and I constantly saw sales people helping customers so seems like good customer service to me. Even though I tend to be more of an online shopper for beauty I always love coming to this store. The associates have always been super helpful to me. Even though I already know quite a bit about makeup they still have helped me out immensely. Whether it be with finding the perfect foundation, new blushes, skincare, haircare, or perfume I've never left disappointed or felt pressured to buy anything. Each associate seemed knowledge about their areas, which I've been impressed with. I've had good one on one time with a lot them and always appreciate it. The associate Kelsey especially has helped me a lot with finding new looks and products and is always super friendly. The only time I've had trouble is when the store is busy and they're spread thin, which happens sometimes with the mall when it's on weekends, near holidays, and especially during their sales events. But I've learned to avoid those days if I can and it's kept things easier/more personal. read more

Sephora as a whole has amazing products. The service at the Greenhills store was atrocious. I wouldn't recommend this store to a stranger. They treat their customers without proper recommendation. I felt uncomfortable in that environment. I left all of the product that I picked up because no one took the time to talk to me nor did they take the time to get to know me. Forget "cosmetics store," I'd call this a cosmetics camp. My pre-teen girls could've happily spent a week scouring, sampling, and skipping through the store...good cheap fun on a hot summer day. We sprayed perfume, glossed lips, and lined lashes. I love the different lines the store carries (many of which you can't find at the department stores), but I settled for purchases from the Sephora line, which offers a great selection at a great price. I left with a lipstick, which is the reason we strolled into the store in the first place, but also walked out with liquid eye liner, face cleanser, a Sephora beauty insider card (because we'll definitely be back) and smiling, lip gloss-laden daughters. read more

While the makeup and skincare selections are fantastic, to say the staff is rude is an understatement. They smile and say "Hi" when you walk in but the pleasantness ends there. I've had Heidi with the red hair outright ignore me and my questions when I wasn't the person in my party actually purchasing something(they were legitimate questions too, I'm no stranger to makeup). I had a male employee talk to me about new fragrances and when I seemed not so enamored with one of the fragrances he sprayed, he literally turned and walked away from me mid-conversation. He did not speak one word to me after that. Numerous other employees talk down to you when you ask any type of question. I've since taken to buying all my sephora products online. read more

This is one of my most favorite stores in the world. I don't know why I didn't leave a review before. I stopped by here last night and as always feel wonderful when leaving. I have never ever had a bad experience. The entire staff is so wonderful. I laughed last night because when I went in, within 20 minutes, I had 4 salespeople come up to me to greet me. It was kinda unnerving at first but then I though well at least it's better than being ignored. Besides, how did they know that I haven't already been greeted by someone else already? That being said, let's just say they are a great group of people who just want to help you out. They have a huge selection of items to choose from no matter what your shopping for. My favorite thing is the point system. I love racking up the points. At each end of the year, I have so many points that I can use them toward stocking stuffers for my friends. read more
