I was in the market for fancy lotion. I knew I was in the right place because the 'lotion' was called 'moisturizer.' I really got the hint when I saw the price point. This isn't Jergens, folks. Thankfully, in addition to a picture and price point, the inventory came with copy. I could read flowery language that made me feel good about the purchase I was to make. I mean that sincerely. If you're going to drop coin on a luxury, you should know what you're getting. I felt as though I was reasonably informed enough to know what I was getting. I had originally purchased tickets for a collaborative event between Tijon and a local boutique to celebrate my friend's birthday. Unfortunately, we never received the last-minute cancellation notice from the organizer. So there we were--standing outside a closed boutique with no sign or update--unsure what to do next. We called Tijon to see if they knew anything, and that's when we spoke with Meredith, one of the owners. After hearing what happened, she immediately invited us to her shop and said she'd still host the perfume portion for us. Even though her store was already closed for the evening, she went above and beyond to make sure we didn't leave disappointed. Meredith welcomed us so warmly and created an incredible, personalized perfume-making experience--without rushing us for a single second. There was a huge variety of essential oils and scent blends to choose from, and she guided us just enough to help us create something beautiful (and not a "hot mess"!). We even got to make a full-sized bottle of our custom perfume, which I wasn't expecting! The bottles are a great size, the sprayers work perfectly, and my scent lasts a long time.
