Well...just another reason I don't come to this mall...I only came here for a pick up order but of course they don't have curbside service...Great! So I get enough energy to hobble inside to the store only to find they're "having technical difficulties" and won't be open anytime soon. I tap on the door, hoping to get some insight from the wandering employee inside. She slowly walks towards the door and I explain that I'm only here for an online pickup. She stares blankly and offers nothing. I'm just short of crying from frustration when I find a chair to sit in right outside the store so I can rest my Cam boot, which is already aching from the short walk. The same employee opens the door and tells me they'll be open in 20-30 minutes. They finally open and of course the online order part of the store has no one in it- shocker! So another "perky" employee says "oh, yeah, go to the front register." Great. I get there and it's the same employee that didn't help me initially. I give her my name and all I get is attitude, eye rolling, the whole nine. She barrages me with a series of ridiculous questions, all of which I answer. I'm losing my patience as I look around the store. Same employee then asks me for my ID. Um, ya think you could have done that to begin with? I finally get my order and take another look around the store- because it's the LAST time I'm ever there. 3 stars for the products and variety, ZERO stars for customer service = 1.5 stars. read more

I love makeup. I love Sephora. I frequent other locations more often, I rarely visit this one. I have received help here a few times although not on this most recent visit. This location is larger than the stores located in JcPenney but smaller than the large location in Lynnhaven. There is so much here. It is like a candy store for the makeup lover. I really enjoy testing the products/shades on my hand before purchasing. Best benefit of SEPHORA for sure! I'm happy. read more

I wasn't impressed. This Sephora is small and cramped. They have some of the usual items like the section with the small travel-sized samples you can get in line for the cash registers which I love and some parts of the stuff I've come to love Sephora for. But they didn't have half the items I wanted to buy. For example, they only had a few items from specific brands I had come to buy things from (Amore Pacific and Ole Henricksen to be precise). I also wanted to buy a Clinique lip liner pencil I usually buy at Lynnhaven mall and they don't have the full line of Clinique - excuse me? Clinique is one of the biggest skincare brands that I know of, if they don't carry the full line of that, why is it even open? Yeah, I don't know either. I returned an online order and wanted to buy another item which was about $40 more. First, the gal couldn't figure out how to return it and allow me to credit the item, then I asked her THREE times if she needed my VIB card and even pulled it out and had it in my hand - she said no. When I get rung up - it's not anywhere on my receipt and I didn't get the usual "These are how many points you earned" on my receipt so I knew it wasn't on there. I complain, she continues to adamantly tell me that it was on the account - I don't know how because she wouldn't scan my card or look me up. They ended up telling me they could refund it (huge line behind me now it's been 20 minutes) or I can call it in. I said forget it, I'll call it in. I don't see that anywhere on the receipt and I don't see anywhere on the website to request missing points so I'm going to be pissed if I have to go back down there to get them after I was HOLDING the card in my hand and all the gal had to do was scan it. Bad experience overall. I get this is OK for quick stop and light shopping - they'll have the main major things - but isn't that what Sephora is all about is selling the in-depth beauty stuff other stores don't have? If they don't have that - I have no reason to shop there. I'll stick to the larger and more well-stocked Lynnhaven store with sales associates who are properly trained. read more

I was extremely happy that the opened a boutique store in MacArthur Center. Just so you know, "sephos" is greek word means beauty and the name Zipporah come from the beautiful wife of Moses from the Book of Exudos. The store looks incredibly fantastic. It's clean, neat and well displayed. Everything is on point starting the warm welcome greetings at the entrance till the cash register. They staffs are knowledgeable and professional. Chelsea Chelsea Chelsea!! When I tell you she worked magic during my latest makeover on 3/6..I mean Houdini! From start to finish she was the epitome of what I love about Sephora's culture. I am not an everyday makeup wearing girlie and have very oily, acne prone skin. She acknowledged my concerns and was pleasant and knowledgeable addressing them. She asked questions about what I wanted specifically, was patient as I peeked every other second, and even convinced me to add a little glitter! I hate glitter! She did such an amazing job, I received compliments before our session even ended and throughout the entire evening out. If you're in MacArthur Sephora please don't hesitate to ask for her by name! I've been here a few times. This location has friendlier staff than most others, but a limited selection. No Stila. No OCC. None of the nichey/artsy brands. But, they're oh-so-nice. This is one that I'm comfortable browsing, asking questions, and getting some kind of service done. And, as for getting a service, they're likely to ask you before you ask them. So come to this location, my timid compadres. Aside from selection, it's a significantly more pleasant shopping experience here than at many other Sephoras. So I am a BEAUTY JUNKIE!!!!!!!!!!! Been shopping at Sephora for a loooooooooong time, coast to coast. I'm glad that they have FINALLY decided to put Sephora back after its brief stint at this mall about 10 years ago. Now, if you are familiar with the Sephora's in bigger cities (Vegas, LA, Chicago, NY) you will find that this location is not as big. They lack many of the higher end brands but have some of the mid end brands that you hear about all the time (Urban Decay, Smashbox, Bite, Kat Von D, Laura Mercier etc.) and the store is much smaller on a whole. This location is even smaller than the Lynnhaven one. If you're looking for something specific, your best bet would be to find it online and then do a search to see if the item is at this store. I do far more online ordering from Sephora than I do in-store purchases because the selection is limited. Since you are able to return items from online in the store, I usually pop in here to do so or if I'm going to Lush from Nordstroms I'll pop in here just for FUNSIES because it's on the way. Very poor customer service. Though the inventory was sufficient, I had difficulty soliciting a staff member to assist me with finding a particular product. When I finally did get someone's attention, they quickly answered the phone and attended to the person on the phone while I waited. After several minutes, I finally put down my potential purchases and walked out while someone brightly told me to have a great night. read more

Really don't like this location. Every time I go, the employees are unfriendly and the store is chaotic. My most recent visit, an older female employee working at the store very rudely had me move out of the way while I was looking at something so that she could find a product for a client she was assisting. The wait time for a color match was unreal. I left the store for about 40 minutes to go shop elsewhere, came back, asked the same older female employee if I could have a color match. She was incredibly rude, again, and had someone else take care of me (she wasn't busy). Didn't give me he time of day. Luckily, after my 40 minutes spent shopping elsewhere, I was finally next on the list. 40 minutes for a COLOR MATCH. I love Sephora, but this store needs to get it together, whether it be by training kind and helpful employees or helping divide workload. The employee who wouldn't do my color match gave me to a very kind (thankfully) employee, Chelsea. She was very helpful and sweet and took care of me in a timely manner, which I appreciated. read more

Normally I'm stick to the lynnhaven mall location but I just happened to be in MacArthur mall so I browsed this location, I was interested in trying a new foundation and getting an updated color ID. Nette helped me find the perfect shade in a brand I was interested in along with giving me my color ID & a complimentary Color Id to try. She was extremely helpful, personable, and knowledgeable on products. She listened to my concerns and had great suggestions for other products and tools to try, great service overall, I'll be back! read more

I love Sephora, but I had a custom makeover yesterday including eyeliner, tight liner, and water liner. I think the sample the makeup artist used was tainted because today I have an infection in my lower lashline. My left lower eyelid is nearly swollen shut! I wish I would have thought of it yesterday, but it seems very unsanitary to use a sample eyeliner when who knows what germs were on it before sticking it in my eye!!!! At a minimum, it should be sharpened all the way down so all surfaces are fresh between uses. BAD FORM Sephora! read more

I've had a wonderful experience each time I go into this store. I didn't normally wear that much make-up but the store associate and make-up artist Anthony changed that! He instantly found the perfect foundation for me and gave me a make-over. I couldn't believe how meticulous he was putting on my makeup! I felt gorgeous! I had a ball a few weeks later so I came back and he pretty much "Cinderella-ed" me. I received so many compliments on my makeup at the ball! Went in there over the Halloween weekend. The employees were more concerned about their Halloween make up than customers. I was never greeted or approached which is really disappointing. They all had cell phones out & were taking pictures. I had such a fun time at Sephora with Ann! What a sweet, warm-hearted person! What began as a single question about a certain foundation turned into a complete makeover. I ended up buying the exact products that I initially came in to purchase, however, it was the non-monetary items that I walked out with that made my entire experience a truly enjoyable one! She taught me how to contour, highlight my natural features, properly use dip brow and gave me all sorts of helpful tips from application to which brush is good for which product. I left feeling like the bell of the ball, even if I would soon ruin her work of art later at the gym. :( Can't wait to return! Thank you Ann! read more

They have lots of great brands and they can be really helpful (if you get the right employee). One of the best Sephoras I've been to in terms of customer service. I always find the staff very helpful without pressuring me too much. They're also great at color matching or teaching you tricks with makeup. It's nice that the staff is knowledgeable and approachable in the store. If you can't find anything in store, they've always been happy to help me locate what I want online. The only issue I ever have with this store is that MacArthur can be crazy busy and they only have two registers. I've never waited in line more than a couple minutes though. read more

Sephora did it again. Excellent service!!! I was in the store on March 31, 2016. I was looking for a powder to add a little more coverage to my Clinique stay matte Sienna 29. Although they didn't have a Clinique product the young lady who assisted me was very helpful. I'm happy to say the "tarte" rich honey is a perfect match and I still have that matte look and I don't look as if I have on too much make up. No skin irritation. So yes I will be going back. Everytime I come in this Sephora the workers are so rude. They either do not help me like at all. Look at me crazy like I shouldn't be in there. Or either completely ignore me. On the one particular day, I would be in the aisle with someone else and they would greet that person and ask them if they needed help, and treat me like I'm invisible. Last night was the finale straw, I was in the Too Faced section of the store, and asked someone about a product, while he looked at me like I just made the product up out of nowhere and gave me a disgusted no. This is the finale time I ever shop at Sephora Mac Arthur Center. I will be taking my business to Lynnhaven where the people are nicer and they have a better selection. read more

Very nice staff. As a trans* person, sometimes people in cosmetic stores are very rude to me, or even refuse to help me. I am very pale, and when I go somewhere to get shaded for foundation, some people are rude enough to tell me to get a spray tan. I went there hoping to get some help with a foundation. I was greeted but I wasn't asked if I needed help. I walked around the store which is pretty small compared to others. I walked up to the checkout and there were at least ten employers gathered preoccupied with an technological problem. There were managers and cashiers.I stood there for at least four minutes waiting to get there attention. There wasn't even a line of customers they were just so engrossed in their own world. Finally I got someone and they told me they would get someone to help me. I waited and eventually just left. Get it together! You're loosing customers with your lack of customer service. read more

I don't know what it is with this location, it started out ok but now it is really melting down. It's smaller with less brands that the lynnhaven location, and the staff is mostly terrible. I've been in numerous times and unless I'm asking about an expensive product or wearing something other than blue jeans and a tshirt-I am completely ignored while I see other women being greeted and helped. This never happens at the Lynnhaven location! I've also worked in retail and the service industry and I feel customer service at the Macarthur location is nonexistent. I came in a few weeks ago to look for a new foundation. I had closed my eyes while the employee was putting on my makeup, and towards the end I opened and they were using their fingers ! Not a brush !!! Who knows when the last time they washed their hands was ! And the foundation was darker than my neck- it didn't match. I just thanked the employee and walked around some more.. I asked a different girl if she could help me choose a dip brow/ brow wiz color and she put every color up to my hair and eye brows twice , then said " hmm I don't know" and turned around and walked away.. So I found someone else and she chose a color for me very quickly ! I wish I would have found the 3rd employee first.. I probably would have been out of there sooner read more

So to start I'm SO picky when it comes to lipsticks, especially the nude ones! I like to switch it up when I go to get a new one because I'm always on the hunt for the best nude matte lipstick! Let me tell you, one of the sales girls named Jamaica, she was AMAZING! So sweet and helpful and absolutely hilarious! This was the worst experience I've ever had at any Sephora visit. The first time I visited, the store was a little bit busier so I tried to be understanding. I asked a specific question and the sales associate barely made eye contact and pointed me in a general direction. I also needed assistance finding multiple new makeup products, but didn't want to inconvenience the sales associate with my request. I came back a few days later, hoping that with less customers in the store that I would be able to talk with someone who would be able to help me get the new products. Once again, I was barely acknowledged by multiple sales associates. When I checked out with the couple staple products that I needed, unable to get the new products I was looking for, the cashier barely conversed with me and even forgot to ring up an item in her haste to get me out of the store. She also didn't apply my purchase to my Beauty Insider account; I had to call customer service to have it done retroactively. I've never had such an unpleasant experience in a Sephora in my multiple years of being a customer. It's surprising to me that Sephora still has business at this location. If you know what you're looking for and just need to stop in and grab it then you should be fine, but don't expect to receive any help. read more
