Loads of empty spaces. Anyways, I stopped by to see if they had what I was looking for. There was a good amount of people working when I walked in and had to flag someone down to ask for help. If you haven't been inside a Sephora or heard of one you must be living under a rock. A Mecca for pretty much all things beauty. I needed some bodywash and lotion but couldn't find where the products were placed. Walked around a bit and finally had to ask someone where they were. I don't know if she was new but she too didn't know where it was located. We both walked around for a bit until she asked someone else where it could have been. Found it but they only had a small selections on what was there. It's a great concept of having pretty much everything in one place but sucks that what you want they didn't have...lol... So 100% I do not consider myself to be a make up girly. I wear makeup maybe a couple times a week. But I had run out of my Fenty foundation and wanted to come by here to see about a replacement. As a dark skinned, chocolate woman, my skin color can fluctuate a little bit throughout the year based on sun exposure, so I wasn't exactly sure of what shade I should get. One of the clerks said that someone could help me with color matching. Enter Grace, literally the best beauty consultant I have worked with an over a decade. I literally have never had anyone care or question what I was doing and I've been to multiple Sephora's throughout Southern California. Apparently, the Fenty comes on my skin a bit orange and she recommended a totally different brand that I've never heard of. It was literally my skin color without a weird tone. I had no idea that makeup could look so good and so natural. I have pretty clear skin, but shade matching is always been a challenge and she nailed it. Best experience at a beauty store ever! I don't live anywhere near Santa Monica, but I come around this area maybe once a month and when I need make up again, I will definitely swing by this store, but if Grace isn't working, I will probably leave. read more

I got a full-face makeover 7/24/26 from Maria F - I've done these before and they're always a good investment because I find new products and learn new techniques. You can learn a lot from videos, but it's always a good idea to update your look with a pro from time to time. Maria did a FANTASTIC job - I not only found a much better foundation for my complexion, but she showed me how to do my brows much better, and I got to try false eyelashes for the first time. I told her I needed a professional look for a new LinkedIn headshot and she delivered! It looked polished and professional and she really made my eyes pop! Even my husband was impressed. My Beauty Service experience at Sephora was not what I expected. Sephora needs more people who can all skin tones when it comes to makeup. I was given a foundation that was too light, and when I comment on it she mentioned that the bronzer would help. She ended up correcting it but it wasn't giving. I asked for a natural look and I look like I'm going to prom in the early 2000s. I left feeling disappointed and not satisfied with the final look. read more

The customer service sucks here. The store wasn't packed or that busy and there were many sales associates milling around. It took about 20 minutes for one to ask me if I was finding everything ok. Aside from that, they just walked around a lot or talked to each other. I bother to come here because it's so convenient. But damn, it makes me think I should go somewhere else. read more

Never really had an problems with this Sephora, although I do find my self regretting buying products in person because they can be sitting there for a long time and when I open the product at home I look up the batch number and it's really old or the expiration on the product is expiring within the next 6 months or the product has started to separate so I stick to getting products online to avoid this. But I noticed this with products at this Sephora especially if the brand is higher end like Dior. I did have a great experience getting a perfect color match for the Haus labs foundation which was awesome! Very average experience. Parking is typical for the area: street parking is common. When I walked in, no one immediately greeted me or asked if I needed help. I asked if this location was giving out samples and they said no, sadly. I'm sure it's because of COVID but another Sephora store I went to, did give samples. So... ‍ (For those of you don't know, Sephora allows patrons to have 3 samples of items in the store! You can't do products that aren't easily packable, like lipsticks, eyeliner, gels, etc. It's perfect for foundations, sunscreens, and moisturizers. It's a small plastic jar of the item. I booked with Krystal and was extremely happy with her personable and high quality service. We talked about what I could do differently and the second time on the day of, it was even better! I didn't even know I could have my makeup done at the store but it was great and I could book an appointment early in the morning before the actual store opens, so was happy to not be limited to store hours. I walked into sephora specifically to pick up the Anastasia dip brow. I immediately reached out to one of the staff members to guide me to the right direction. She ended up walking me all the way to the Anastasia aisle. I asked her which shade I should go for and she said the dark brown and asked if I wanted someone to come and help me try it on. I said yes so she reached out to one of the other associates who was very nice and made small talk with my little one. I think he was starting to open up to her. Haha. She was honest and told me that she may not be the best one for the job so she called over this gorgeous studio associate Christine. She is the BEST. She placed the product on my brow and taught me how to use it. I then asked her about a waterproof eye liner. She recommended one that was gel, waterproof mechanical liner. I tried it on and really loved it. She was patient and understanding and answered all my questions. She asked me if ever wore red lipstick but I told her I didn't feel comfortable with red since it was super bright. She brought over the sephora lip stain and applied it on. Almost everyone in the store noticed it and complemented me on it so of course I bought it. Haha She taught me a few makeup techniques about applying makeup which she didn't have to buy she was awesome. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER!! the Manager at this location Sage Knight was so incredibly rude to me. I tried to return a brand new item and did not have a receipt (used a gift card) and she was so unhelpful, basically accused me of not even purchasing the item there, and was extremely hostile towards me. This Sephora ALWAYS has exceptional customer service!!! From the moment we walked through the door until we walked out, we had an amazing time!!!! We came by on Monday around 5:00 pm. We walked right in after the friendly associate told us the rules in a very elegant way (Sephora Long Beach should take notes, lol). My friend is not into beauty but she wants me to teach her things, so we went around and I was giving her my personal feedback (I used to be a professional make up artist). After a few minutes, I realized one of the customers was following us around and picking some of the things I was talking about (TOTALLY made my day!!!!). Today a very pretty boy was helping me and his lip stick looked so on point I had to pull him aside and make him tell me his secret. Great location and always very busy, even when I arrived right before closing. The employees do not hover, which is what I like about this place. When we needed help, there was an employee ready to help. Gio, one of the employees, was very patient and professional when I came in to inquire about concealers. She color matched my skin tone and gave me advice. There was one negative incident at the end of my visit. The cashier wouldn't bag my tiny product until I asked. The 5 stars is for the employee named Maritza. My SO and I have been stopping by Sephora on a weekly basis for a specific fragrance and it hasn't been in the store for quite some time. Since we go to the Santa Monica Place routinely, we didn't feel the need to really order the fragrance and just decided to stop by every time we go on our walk at the promenade and just purchase it when we see it in the store. Long checkout lines with only one checker while they talked to each other. Someone finally came up and suggested products that were completely wrong for my needs and complexion, even after I explained what I wanted she didn't seem to know the inventory. Also, they nudge you toward the most expensive version of whatever you're looking for. Don't forget the added charge for a bag after you've spent $150+.
