Came in this morning for an Anastasia pomade for my eyebrows and came out with a new foundation, primer, setting powder and a new foundation brush. I had an artist by the name of Vicky Alonso help me with pairing my skin with their new technology and she was filled with compliments. Although I am very insecure with my skin she let me know how beautiful it was and lashes and structure all was great without makeup, so buying items for a little enhancement couldn't hurt! Soo grabbed MILK products the foundation, primer and setting powder. This was 10a this morning and it is now 4p and it still looks as if I just applied it. She understood my skin type, my being of a darker tone and catered to what I asked. She also taught me how to apply and use, as well as tried different products to compare. I shop at Sephora once in a blue moon. I'm not much of a makeup person. However I do take a peep inside every once in a while. I always use to feel like their employees were desperate for sells and would pick and choose who they wanted to help. That all changed when I met LaLa. She is an AMAZING makeup artist. She was sweet, she knew her stuff and she was not pushy. She made recommendations and now I'll ONLY shop when she's around. She completely changed my Sephora experience Sephora can be overwhelming for some individuals. There is -makeup *face *cheek *eye *lip *brushes & applicators * accessories -skin care products *moisturizers *cleansers *treatments *masks *eye care * lip treatments *sun care - fragrance *men *women - bath & body - nail - hair - tools & brushes - men section They have a wide selection of brands and prices do vary. Like I said for people like me it's a bit overwhelming however staff members such as LaLa made it so easy for me. read more

Unfriendly employees... Not employee (meaning a few) giving us dirty looks while we were in the store. Some of the employees were nicer. (The younger ones). The store is a little dirty. This Sephora seriously needs to re- train just about all there staff. It was made to feel like you were committing a crime for looking at something! And omg don't accidentally smell something they will pounce on you. Your instinct is to want to smell the products. Especially this one worker she sounded like a nagging mother don't this / oh no not that , thing is she wasn't hounding anyone else around. Let's not forget the front desk when you pay, wow no energy , no hello, dull, they all seemed like half asleep begging to go home. I miss the staff before Covid it was way better customer service and happy employees willing and eager to help. Now seems like they hired just about anyone. Since it's in the Third Street Promenade, it's no surprise that there's a lot of people throughout the store. It's definitely hard to find someone to assist you. I came here because I had a 15% off coupon about to expire. My Clinque makeup remover wasn't stocked on the shelf. After waiting around with no one readily available, I had to grab it from the drawer. The cashier was the friendliest person in the store, which is why I didn't give this location 2 stars. He moved quickly and addressed me by name after seeing my VIB info, which is always a nice. He also reminded me how many points I had left. I wouldn't recommend this location if you need tips on what to get and where to find it. read more

I enjoyed visiting this Sephora yesterday. Great selection of products, large location, friendly employees. I was greeted and helped by more than one employee which was nice and helped me choose items to purchase. The one reason why I only give this location 3/5 stars is because of the location! It's on the far north side of 3rd Street Promenade, and I basically think of it this way: The farther north you go on the strip, the worse and worse the selection of stores gets. It's on the end where there aren't too many similar/good stores around it (in my opinion), and I always park at the parking structure on Broadway and 3rd/4th which is basically at the complete opposite end of this Sephora. If it were located more towards the center, or the South end of 3rd Street Promenade, I would definitely give it a higher rating! Since Sephora was the only store I was targeting at the mall, I felt like the walk from one end to the other was a bit much for me. read more

I'm so glad I can browse through the product without people asking me if I need help every couple feet. This store is huge and easy to find things in. Love this Sephora!! Popped in to pick up Smashbox eye lid primer and accidentally bought the Smashbox under eye primer. What a great mistake. Love it! There are so many products to chose from and try. I love that I can bring my dogs in to the store as well. They aren't as crazy about Sephora as I am, but they love the attention their long flowing hair gets...LOL. p.s. Totally in love with my Urban Decay eye shadow I bought on my last visit. Admittedly, I walked into this Sephora boutique along the Third Street Promenade with zero intention to buy; rather, to peruse the selections on offer. Unsurprisingly, I made a small purchase, thanks to the arrival of the new Jo Malone "shop" I was introduced to by a gentleman named, Julian. I have to say he was proactive with his fragrance presentation; guiding me along the new and must-have fragrance options. I wasn't surprised by his natural and effortless ways of leading me toward a purchase ~ but then, I realized he is the one employee who had been with Sephora for like over a decade when it was two blocks south of its' current location. He knows it all; spot on with customer care and experience. My last purchase at Sephora was before its' latest remodeling closure, but Julian's customer service consistency this afternoon has reignited my loyalty to this location. I'm glad to have returned to Sephora as a customer and I will return again and again with greater frequency and repeat business. It was his time and efforts today that will easily justify future purchases at any price-point. Because of him, I purchased a travel candle as a "tester" for my home and I'm enjoying it so! I consider this to be a smaller Sephora, but it's the most convenient location for me. They usually do have what I'm looking for, but it can be crowded. Sometimes I am not sure how they do the climate control here, because it's always pretty warm in here. My biggest complaint about this Sephora is the ventilation. Unless I go on a slow weekday, the fumes in here are out of control. It's like a giant mixing pot of all the men's and women's fragrances ever made. With the prices they charge, couldn't they have the phone answering call recorded by a professional or at least some staffer who could speak clearly?! Phone call disconnected or person hung up. My only prior experience with Sephora was in New York; my family took me there. Very nice visit. Sephora has a wonderful selection of makeup, perfumes and beauty products. I like that they carry high end brands in addition to their own reasonably priced brand. I also like the variety of skin care items. We ran in to look at the Hello Kitty, Harujuku and Tokidoki items. I liked the variety and selection. In general I would never use department store testers, and Sephora is no different. The testers here looked disgusting and really made the displays look unappealing. I came in here to exchange my foundation, that I bought online, for the correct color. I'm usually a self-served customer, but when it comes to make-up, I may need a little assistance. Most Sephoras I've gone to are pretty good with their customer service. They usually greet, offer some assistance or let you know that if you do need any help, feel free to ask them. With all of my experiences at this specific location, a few employees have made eye contact with me, but no one has yet to offer me their help. Whether it looks like a customer will buy something or not, isn't it your job to help a sista (or brother) out? A little "Hi, welcome to Sephora" doesn't hurt if you're busy. Those who has never gone through this experience - GOOD FOR YOU! Any who, with a few tries & the help of my boyfriend, I was able to find the correct Guerlain foundation to match my skin. I'm a New Yorker. The Sephoras I'm used to are the near at 86th, 14th and 34th. Meaning-- a whole load of tourist women, girls, teens and tweens putting a crap load of stuff on their faces from the samples and employees more worried about what's probably stolen then helping the costumers. Being on the westside finally, I needed a pitstop for my essentials cause I forgot to pack them. After coming into this shop, which had a mild amount of women in it, I loved that it had a good amount of other brand names other than Sephora, much akin to its much larger NYC chains. What made me even more happy were the employees that care about selling the products. Upon check out, I was kindly given samples and additional information. The lady (Mary) at the counter even gave me my birthday present for the year because it was december and my bday had passed! I actually really love this location and I'll probably stop by here if I'm in the area. Also most lipsticks and liners are intact. Tissues nearby. Woot! read more

I am writing a review for Tanya's service. First time ever (and I am a regular) that someone finally gives me what I need and nails it. Every time I go, somebody experiments on my skin trying to get the right foundation, right primer, and moisturizer, and they just can't figure it out. Tanya this time got me the right shade in a heart beat and suggested 2 amazing primers that nobody had suggested before. She knows her stuff and knew my skin type. She was very friendly, confident, and professional. I have very sensitive skin, very fair and naturally blushed but I have a yellow undertone (not pink). She suggested a yellow tinted primer from Bare Minerals and it neutralized my pink instantly. I was amazed. Everyone else had suggested a green tint primer but it didn't work. read more

Popped in here to pick out a shade for a new brow liner and the person who helped me was very friendly and helpful! I gave her an idea of what I was looking for and she directed me to her personal preference item and gave constructive feedback on what I was currently wearing on my brows. She also swatched the shade she picked on her arm and applied it on my brows so I could see how it looked before purchasing. It was a pleasant experience and I'd be happy to come back if I need help picking the right shade or other makeup advice from the experts. I came in today and the ladies were lovely to me and my friend, very attentive. But of course there's always that one bad apple that has to ruin it. It's our first time in Sephora since the pandemic hit, we were told the new rules and regulations. My friend forgot you can't touch the testers. She grabbed one to read the label more closely and a male employee (had bleached blonde hair older man) snatched it from her and scolded her saying there's no testing (she didn't test anything she just forgot she couldn't touch it) and took it away. She was left there stunned and anxious ready to leave. Thankfully we had a lovely woman come and offer to spray the tester for her. We ended buying the cologne thanks to the woman's wonderful costumer service. I wish I had gotten her name but honestly all the ladies were awesome. Love this store, hate when they decide to employ RUDE ladies to run the cash register. Sephora is beauty paradise! Think of any beauty product that you want... they likely have it and more! I was a bit shocked, as I popped in here yesterday looking for a specific mascara. My entire time there, no one asked if I needed any help. I looked around to find staff to ask... but it was exceptionally bare - where was everyone hiding? It's just after Christmas, too, and most stores are still catering to post-holiday shoppers... but not Sephora. Didn't see anyone floating around for the 15 minutes I was there. I lost the review card I was given when in-store but needed to find a way to boast about my customer experience from my visit to Sephora in SM yesterday! Everyone was very happy to help but the woman who did my facial was exceptional! I explained how the texture of my face is going through a very dramatic [and hopefully temporary] change and she diligently went through the store finding the products that would not only maximize my facial, but could be longterm skincare solutions. She really took her time to provide me a quality facial and was extremely knowledgeable in the products as well as general skin care and remedies. I was introduced to Sephora by my daughter who is a make up Hollic. She stops by there religiously to buy new products and now she got me addicted. I walked in and was quickly greeted by the associates who handed me a bag so that I can put my products in as I shop around. I had several questions and wanted to get matched for foundation. I reached out to one of the associates who was around and she sent me to the studio where they tested my skin so they can find out which product works best for me. I do feel like royalty when I walk into the store. Their sephora line is also really good quality at very low prices. I enjoy the lip stain from there and I have several colors of it at the moment. My friends always ask me where I get my make up and my lipsticks. They have a 30 day return policy and they guarantee their products so even if it's open they will take it back. I will definitely be back. Are usually park in the metered parking on Wilshire so it's a very short walk from there. read more

During checkout, my phone number associated with my account was apparently had a different member with the same number. I told the cashier that I have more points than 28 points. The sale associate next to her overheard our conversation and walked over. She gave me a nasty attitude like.. no, that's what it says. Instead of being helpful, she was being a total B and gave me an attitude. Another associate came by and just gave a blank look like I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. Finally the cashier asked for my email and she then verify that I was right. Without apologizing, everyone just walked away. What kind of customer service and attitude am I receiving here? There are a ton of online store with better pricing and I don't have to deal with these attitude. Have you ever been bullied in Sephora by a sales rep??? I have! I actually had the worst customer service/experience in the skin care department!!! I was actually bullied in the store with the skin sales person named Cary. I went into Sephora mid-day on a Wednesday when there were virtually no customers in the store. I was referred to Cary in the skincare department to suggest a moisturizer. He was arrogant, slow, distant and clearly did not want to help. He bullied me into giving my my personal email address and phone number, before allowing me to sample a product. He demanded for the information before helping me and said if he did not have my personal information, he could not allow me to try the product. I told him I was not comfortable giving him my personal information, and then he said this was "Sephora's new Policy and "oh well", shrugged his shoulders and said I could leave. I can't quite believe Sephora is hiring sales reps to "bully" customers. It was a horrible experience. It is very clear that Cary would prefer to stand around an empty store than help a customer that was sincerely looking a good recommendation for a moisturizer. I have had very good experiences in nearby department stores on the Promenade such as Bloomingdales and Nordstroms that carry a wide selection and do not demand personal phone numbers and emails when allowing a customer to sample a product. I am sure I am not the only one that was bullied and had poor customer service from Cary, as he had a very careless detached attitude that could not be bothered in helping a customer.
