I've been a loyal Sephora customer for years and have VIB Rouge status. Last night I dropped over $700 on makeup and skincare and the cashier had the audacity to tell me I was going to be charged a .05 bag fee for the larger Sephora bag that would have fit all my newly purchased items. I was a little shocked that Sephora wouldn't provide an adequate bag for my purchased products after I've spent a small fortune. On principal I wasn't going to do that so Instead, she crammed all of my products into a bunch of tiny bags. NOT good business Sephora, shame on you. read more

I want to Thank Carrie and Daniel at this location for helping my friend and I find what we needed. I asked Carrie for help with eyebrow shadow and not only did she point out what to get but offered to put it on me to show me. I am not kidding....I loved how she shaped my brows and taught me how to do it. I could see how she changed the makeup l already had on my face. I am terrible with makeup and she was so informative and I could tell she knew what she was talking about and not full of bs. Now Daniel, what a sweetheart. He helped my friend find liquid eyeliner and had such a good demonstration and knowledgable about the different types of liner he made me want to buy one and I wasn't even looking for eyeliner and I purchased it! lol Thank you to both of you AND.....especially you Carrie (hope I spelled your name right) for acknowledging us when we came into your store. This Sephora location is unimpressive due to the staff. I spend a lot of money at Sephora every year, I'm a rouge member and easily spend upwards of $1500 every year. The employees at this location are rude and follow you around like you're going to steal something. I love coming in and seeing what's new and swatching new products on my hand. I rarely leave Sephora without buying something. If I'm going to visit this location I won't do that anymore because they watch you like a hawk and make you feel uncomfortable. I've had to return a couple items this year as they did not work for me and I was unable to get them in sample size. One of them was recommended to me by an employee and it was awful (total wrong color for my skin tone, would only work on someone with a deep skin tone). Both returns I made the day after I bought them. Both staff members I returned to were SO rude. Very fake smile and talking to me like I was a child. I only come here if I need something since it's the closest to my house but will avoid this location if possible. read more

One thing that bothers me about this location is that they don't carry as many products as the downtown or even the Bellevue location. Whenever I go in, they seem to always be out of stock of everything I'm interested in, which is really annoying. The customer service is good in the sense that someone is always available and willing to help you. The downside is that the employees seem to know little or nothing about the products or makeup in general. All in all, it's a convenient location and you'll have no problem getting an employee to help you find something, but don't be surprised if they're out of it :( read more

Worst Sephora ever! I received an email from sephora giving me details of a 500-point reward, which caught my attention. When I arrived to this location, I do not see the items on display. So I showed my email to a staff and asked if they have it in the store. She told me that she'll check in the back. Standing around for nearly 20 minutes, I saw her walking around near the front of the store socializing. If she couldn't find it then let me know so that I can make my purchase decision instead of having to stand around waiting for her to come back. In addition to not stocking the latest items, this location also has very poor customer service. When I walked out the store, the staffer & I exchanged glances. Not once did she acknowledged me as I walked out the door. Disappointed in this location. read more

This store can get super crowded and busy but even with that the staff is always walking around asking if you need help. I have never had a problem finding someone to answer my questions. The staff is very knowledgeable about the products! Which is super nice when you don't know alot about the brands. I absolutely adore Sephora. I go to the ones downtown and at the U Village all the time. I especially love the OPI line only available at Sephora. I do love Sephora but this location is just ok. The people working in this store aren't nearly as friendly as other Sephora locations, and aren't as knowledgeable. Sephora stores carry a wide array of brands of make up, and although they are more expensive, the very knowledgeable staff who can help me understand all the different options and the newest items is great. I stop by this location if I'm ever at the mall to browse. They never have the things I need or want so I generally will order them online & get my items shipped for free. I sometimes will get gloss from here but most of the time, I don't walk out with too many items when I shop here. I've asked for help a few times to have someone attempt to recommend the right shade for me but I'm better off just doing it myself! Someone once did my makeup and I was three shades darker than my actual skin tone it was bad!!! Unlike the other Sephora's in the Seattle Metro area, this one has some decent customer service. It's employees don't follow you around, they're very helpful, and they understand makeup and how to apply it. But the store itself is what disappoints me. For starters, almost every single lipstick in the store has lint, dust, or some kind of debris on it. It's just gross. The eyeshadows are often difficult to swatch because of all the oils from peoples fingers. The last issue isn't necessarily only this store but all sephora's, they never have anything in stock! It's always gone, and quite frankly that ticks me off. They only seem to ever get 2-3 items at a time and of course they go quickly. But of course having said all of that, I am thrilled to have a sephora in the south end now, no more driving to Bellevue or downtown Seattle for my makeup kick. read more

I really wanted to give this place a 3.5, but I don't mind giving it a 4 just because the sales people aren't pushy whatsoever which is great because high end cosmetics aren't cheap! They are great with customer service, there's plenty of people to always help the customers out. The negative about the sales people are they seriously aren't very knowledgeable. I asked a sales person a question about the buxom lash liner and they had to read the box and told me, "I don't know much about this product.. I've never used it." - Which was an disappointment. Although, I believe people who work at the makeup counter at Nordstrom are much more knowledgeable about their products. Except this one time, I allowed someone to put makeup on me. She did my foundation which is a no,no because she definitely caked my face. I mean, you could see there were loads of foundation on my face. Ugh. This Sephora offered curbside pick up and I always use it when companies offer it especially when I'm always with my 2 yr old because it's convenient and I don't have to haul him into the store if don't have to. Anyways, I used curbside pick up and when I got there, they had informed me that they weren't offering it that day due to the weather. Living in seattle where it rains half the year, it didn't make sense. It was raining but not hard enough where it made sense to stop something due to the weather. If I didn't need my order that day, I would have just canceled it. So I hauled myself and my 2 yr old into the mall and knew right away that I regretted it when he wanted to run around the mall. I forced him into Sephora to grab my order. I talked to the employee who helped me about how ridiculous it was that they stopped curbside pick up due to the weather and he said "we don't usually do it but our umbrella broke" uh first of all, why do you only have one and second of all, you are located in a mall full of stores that sell umbrellas!!! I was baffled. Like common sense people! I grabbed my order and my 2 yr old who has now thrown a tantrum because we were leaving. I literally had to fight him into his car seat. I had a make over today and I really enjoyed it. I'm looking to upgrade my makeup so I figured this was the best way to go. Sabrina did a wonderful job. She walked me through everything she used and how she used it. Then she wrote e erythropoietin g down so I could give my list to my husband for Christmas. Of course I picked out my favorite things and got them that day so I could start using them. Also, I showed up an hour early just because I was in the area so I figured I may see if they could fit me in early and she did! The products she used were wonderful! Falsely accused of stealing. I was wearing leggings and a small purse .nothing about me look suspicious. What was supposed to be 10 mintues turned into 30 minutes of workers following me around the store asking if I needed help. I asked for a purfume from the Manger after such judgemental service from other employees and when I thought the rudeness would come to a end. The Manger simply said we don't have it and walked away. I realized the longer I was there the more attention I was getting in the store. The line outside the store was getting longer all because I was suspected of stealing. I will never come to this sephora again. . I never ever been treated like that before. I could understand if I had other bags or a big purse or jacket or something suspicious to give reason for this but I am shocked and disappointed to say that I was judged and followed around and repeatedly asked if I needed help every 5 steps I took in that store. Recently came in to stock up on perfume. I wish I caught it the woman's name that helped me..She was very knowledgeable and really helped me find the best scent! When i went to checkout, the male cashier was distracted by his Apple Watch that was getting Snapchat notifications. I had a ton of points to use at checkout for a free gift and he never asked me if I wanted to redeem any of them. I've been to several different Sephora locations... this one is my favorite. My mom and I went in on a Sunday afternoon, so naturally it was pretty busy. Surprisingly, because of how busy it was, the customer service we received was actually fantastic. We each had a few questions about primers, foundations, and concealers. The employees were more than happy to help and spent a lot of time talking about different products, applying makeup to our skin, and we even got a few free samples! I think we were there for a half hour and they didn't make us feel rushed. Because of their hard work and time, we now know exactly what products work best for us. These chicks know their makeup and they actually care about what you're looking for. Honestly, the best Sephora. (Shout out to Jessica, you are amazing!) Other compliments; cute layout, clean, fun, brighter than the other stores. So yes, check this place out. read more

Horrible experience. I had never been in a Sephora before, and I don't generally wear makeup, but I wanted to have some nice stuff for my upcoming wedding. After about 5-10 minutes of watching the staff help everyone else, I had to flag one of them down. When I did, she acted like I was bothering her. I tried to explain what I wanted, and she reached into the lipstick display next to her, grabbed the lightest color without even really looking at me, and said "here. This one will look nice" and started to walk away. I told her that I didn't really like nude lipstick colors, and she just sighed and stared at me while I stood there awkwardly, and finally turned around to pick out a color myself. She did return several minutes later, asked if I found one I liked, and shoved a sample wand at me so I could try it on. She came back a second time, and just stared at me again, not even offering an opinion. I was completely turned off. I bought the lipstick because I didn't want my trip to be in vain, but didn't get any of the other things I was looking to get. I guess I get to stick with my cheap drugstore makeup. Thanks, Sephora, for making me think that I'm unworthy to even step foot in your store. *Edit 5/16/2019* As an experiment, I went back to this Sephora today. This time wearing makeup and having my hair down. Took them 30 seconds to acknowledge me and asked if I needed help. I'll add a star because they can actually be helpful, but no more because apparently you have to look like you don't need help to get it. read more

I'm a Sephora VIB. I've been going to this Sephora periodically throughout the years because I work at the mall. In terms of customer service, it's a definite hit-or-miss for me whenever I walk in. It's never consistent. It did get a lot better through time though regarding employees who approach me who sincerely try and help me find what I need/answer any questions I have. However, I don't know if that's just due to having better employees or the fact that I am older and look more bammmmmb (I know now how to actually apply my make up) than I was 5 years ago... LOL. When I talk about being inconsistent, it means that there are times when I do not get greeted or get asked if I need any assistance. When I actually DO ask for help and take initiative - the employee just answers my question with like one word. They don't go above and beyond & try to recommend me other products or ask me any other questions... etc. Then there ARE times when it's the complete opposite! For example, I did come in a couple days ago to grab a few pick-me-up necessities aka my ABH's brow wiz & my Cover FX - Collect Click Color Corrector (holy cow, talk about tongue twister) & was voluntarily given a sample of Hourglasses' Veil Mineral Primer. Shout out to Kayln or Caitlyn (lol if I heard correctly) who helped me! You were awesome & very sweet. I appreciate it! Last summer, I remember I came in with a few of my friends and this really annoying girl kept following us like a hawk thinking we were going to steal or something. She never once asked if we needed help. I'm not an idiot - I work in retail and I know how it works when it comes to petty customers who steal. It was very judgmental on her part. Overall - the store is nice. I'm always in & out and they carry what I need for the most part. It's very clean and not huge like a maze compared to other Sephoras. I now usually come to this store as the girls have always been very kind and helpful when picking products. I've gotten general help with day to day products, special treatment with the VIB, and I even took advantage of a special promotion they did with a mini facial the girl was clearly trying to sell me on the products but she wasn't pushy. She was asking questions about what I currently used and explaining the products she was using on me and why they would be good. I think her name was Shelly. OBLIGATORY visits each time I go to the mall, is what I have to say about this place. It's a little bit of a bummer because this location DOES tend to sell out products faster than other Sephora's, but hey.... that just means they get good traffic right? So I can't really complain. On a REGULAR occasion, I'd probably give an average makeup store a three star, but I REALLY enjoy the southcenter location because the employees that work here NEVER PUSH YOU to buy things. They don't follow you, breathe down your neck, or force you to carry around one of those stupid mesh purchasing bags when you're really only in the store to buy one or two things because you ran out of it at home. Not to mention, the staff is super informative and aren't afraid to offer you suggestions on how to wear it, or what other products are like it or will go with it. So hooray! i don't know much about make-up. it seems more expensive than painting a car... but the same process: clean, sand down, primer, base coat, color, more color, clear coat. going here with my girlfriend makes me understand why it takes girls longer to get ready. and it also makes me grateful i can just blow my nose and walk out of the house. I do know this about Sephora tho - this location specifically... every time we go despite how busy it can get here (candy store of girls/women) there is someone always willing to help - and they are great help! very knowledgeable on old and new products, what works best with what skin type and skin tones. they always seem to know exactly what my girl is looking for when it all sounds like a foreign language to me. i gave one less star because more often than not there isn't enough cashiers which typically is the longest process. but that's due to staffing issues and not the employees themselves. read more

I'm a VIB Rouge member and although I try to stay far away from shopping in any stores of any sorts I sometimes need color matches. This is Sephora is my closest location to a brick and mortar store but I've visited several throughout the Northwest. Store is always clean and for the most part this seems like a better stocked store then most other Sephoras, but my issues with why I avoid shopping in actual physical stores is customer service. It's such a hit or miss. You can see it in the eyes of the employees right when you walk in. Now this isn't all it's just a pattern I've noticed the times I've been there. I don't walk into a make up store to color match my face with make up on...so like I said you can see the "she isn't going to buy anything" face. Or better yet "she's gonna steal something although she's has zero place to put it." (I don't carry purses in public so I can avoid the uncomfortable hawk people) But this past time I wasn't greeted but that's not a big deal since it's often crazy busy in the store. I knew what brand I was going to go for so I went and found it and within a few seconds a lovely employee was able get a great color match and then now I browse since I'm already in the store and the line is long. This is why I HATE and avoid the brick and mortar Sephoras. I'm not stealing just because I'm not in forever 21 clothes with a MK bag! Like legit this has happened to many times and I'm gonna finally let you guys know. I decided to find a new lipstick for spring so I'm sampling them and not once but twice and employee goes "excuse me" and I move thinking she's grabbing something to show a customer but they blatantly stand right in front of me so I'm like "guess I didn't need that one" and move on then it's just no more "can I help you" it's the associates just gawking with like visible sweat on their brow that I'm walking around the store. Idk, I'd love to say I love Sephora but it's hard and tiring going into the stores. When I worked in retail I was given the same "person a dresses like this so they give us this, person b dresses like this so they won't give us this". But i do often get satisfaction when checking out since I'm Rouge status and easily can drop a couple hundred and I'm always super friendly so I can make sure they are at ease by the time I leave. Like I said, I want to say I love Sephora and honestly they are not much different then any other high end make up/skin care place but this stuffs getting old and while the first associate was pleasant and nice and easy to work with while also being genuinely knowledgeable, it's the person who keeps blocking me and the jittery employees who besides assisting customers is facing the same product that I end up remembering why I avoid the store at all cost. read more

I come and spend a lot of money here. I have to look presentable for my job and I'm a girl and of course love makeup. So when I come wanting to buy a new set up of basics, foundation, eyeliner, concealer etc then I would appreciate some good service. I had to walk around the shore a few times to find someone who wasn't just acting like they were busy. I stopped a girl who I only saw her eyeing me but not once ask me if I needed help. I asked her to match me and all she did was give me the fakest smile and say I need to clean my brush first. She "matched" me for foundation and then walked away without saying can I help you find anything else etc. Isn't their job to sell? Suggest and make sales? I was so irritated by the since of bother I was feeling from the employee that I ended up leaving my basket and walking away. They are nothing compared to the Westlake location where they actually bother to help you. read more

Best customer service ever. Since the first time I walked through their door, they have helped me so much. They don't try to up-sell you to the super expensive products, they actually help you stay on budget while finding the things you need. Always able to find help, and everyone has so much product knowledge it is fantastic. I never really used to wear makeup so I didn't know how to match tones and all that, but they walked me through everything step by step with the products I was interested in so that I could learn to use them properly as I went. Some of the products are expensive yes, but you can have them show you cheaper options that still give you the benefits. Also, so many free samples! Ah!! read more

I went in to a Sephora store last week for the very first time and the associate who helped me was soooooooooo tremendously nice and very attentive. Great first impression of Sephora! She gave me a lot of samples to try so I know exactly what I want. She was awesome! ;) I went to Tacoma location today to get one of the mask that I sampled.... Since Tacoma is closer but their customer service was not great...at least the person who was at the facial care wasn't good, wasn't knowledgable either...but the staff at south center was great!! I buy my Bare Essentuals make up either here or at the namesake store. You can get a rewards card here for every purchase you make, you get points. After you build up enough points, you can redeem them for a travel size item that they offer that month. This store has all the big name makeup brands as well as skin care products of all kinds for the ladies and men. It's not a cheap store, so don't come here if you're looking for a bargain. You can go to a local convenience store for basic skin care and lower quality makeup. They have designer parfume for both men and women and plenty of people on staff to answer your questions about the products they sell. I will be back since I can get my travel size parfumes by BVLGARI here. read more

Let me preface this by saying I'm not old but...lol, I bought a restaurant a year and a half ago and in that time my husband and I developed grey hair and horrible circles under our eyes. So we started our Christmas shopping yesterday, i know it's a little late in the season but I'm busy. Richie Miller nonchalantly asked if I was finding everything I needed and if I needed help. "Nope just buying perfume for my 13yo, thanks though." ...... Wait!!! I stopped Richie and we talked about the circles under both my and my husbands eyes. He told me why it was happening, what I was using wrong and what I should do. Now at this point you may be thinking "SALESMAN!! DUH!!" No i don't think so. I walked out with an $18 pack of Shiseido Benefiance Pure Retinol Express Smoothing, a Christmas gift makeup set in a bag for $19 and a few samples. Richie had enthusiasm and knowledge about the topic. He has fun with his job, it's obvious. Richie is a SALESMAN, but one I don't mind selling to me. When I need anything else I will go see him. Final thought: This was after I bought some Murad at Nordstrom. I almost went to return it so I could buy it from Richie at Sephora but alas I am far too lazy to do that so next time:) read more

I thought the girls here were very nice and informative. I like that it's not a too large store, it's easy to find everything I need. It's fun to try the samples (with the provided sponges and q-tip things, not with my fingers, haha). There's not any pressure and its nice to just be able to browse. My new love is the Clinique Black honey lipgloss/balm that was very appealing on my lips (shock!) and one of the girls helped me out about the Tarte Amazonian clay blush and how bright it goes on, it has to be applied lightly. Now I know! Love frequenting this store since moving here from CA. read more
