If I ever get a make over it would be here. I feel like most of their staff are pretty knowledgeable about their makeup and what works for my skin, even the male staff members too. I did by some of my benefit concealer and they will let you try on so many different foundation creams and setting powders too. Sephora carries many of their own brands and they are good too. They have reasonably priced makeup and beauty products in general and carry all of the latest products for so many different brands. They sell great brush kits, which I purchased for my niece and myself. It's such a good spot to try out makeup before you buy them too. read more

I went in today .. and I think this woman that worked there really needs to humble herself . My family and I were looking around and whoever this older lady with blonde hair was , was starting at me and acting like I'm a felon . No lady .. I was there to spend my money . Then she proceeded to walk past me for no reason but to i guess want to jump in my pocket .. hits my purse and then stands next to me . Then Mrs happy pants asks me if i needed anything like a woman who is troubled in her soul . First of all not with a face or attitude like hers . Rude staff. Very disappointed. Asked for a specific product that they have in stock according to their website which I understand that online might not be 100% accurate with inventory but said that the brand doesn't exist in Sephora and didn't even look at me when speaking. Incredibly crowded Sephora for such a small space. I could barely find room to look around. It was amazing how many people they could pack into a store on a weekday. They do have all of the popular products, and I found most of the them in stock for such a crowded day. The people working here were helpful and did make sure to greet the customers and ask if we needed help. They were definitely working hard today. read more

Store looks decently sized from the outside but my goodness! The aisles are narrow, there's prodcut displaced at the end of the aisles, not enough room to wait in line, you're bumping into people or you're in their "space"....the store is overall small and needs a major layout change immediately of moved to another part of the mall read more

I am a regular at sephora and I have been their customer for a really long time but this store in particular really disappointed me. I am used to of Sephora staff reaching out to me and asking questions to figure out how to help me but here the staff was no where to be foubd and the store was actually not busy. I have been to busier stores and staff always goes out of their way and to my surprise their was a lady looked like the manager of the store and even though she was filling up the stations and we had few eye contacts but she totally ignored me and didnt ask me if i needed any help. First few times I came to this location received amazing customer service, where staff would provide information about services offered, if you had points- what are good product samples etc. last few times service has been off, lack of information shared by staff- and what information shared delivered with a bit of attitude. Lithe product here but Sephora has an amazing online store and have had great experience with it. Will probably use the app and save myself a trip to this particular location in the future. **update** Had a "corrective" store experience here over the weekend amidst the crazed Veterans Day sales which included the sephora "discounts" depending on point status. As usual store is packed. It's earlier in the day though and earlier in the "sale" process. Staff is efficient, friendly, extremely helpful. I was shown a lovely eyeliner, lipstick, and eyeshadow kit in under two minutes that I liked. I also scheduled a perk since I knew that I'd be buying some skincare items and my purchase was more than $70. You can do it in the app- and they confirmed via text prior to my getting there. Lena is so helpful and knowledgeable about all skin care products and helps with the Perk generally. Just like most things - depends on when you go and who you talk to. They have an amazing line of product. Only downfall is generally the cost! However I'm hooked and will be back. read more

I came here on a Saturday afternoon a few weeks ago. It was very busy, as one would predict. All of the staff were assisting others. I figured it was a simple trip. I only needed help selecting an eyeliner in the right shade, maybe a bit of advice on which cleanser was best for my skin as I needed a new one. I went up to a manager who was free and asked for help. She was extremely rude. This is a manager, the face of the company! Literally huffed and rolled her eyes saying "this is what you get when you come on Saturday". She talked into her walkie talkie to see if someone could help. I told her it was of no bother, if I was going to be treated like such an inconvenience I would go to Nordstrom instead. I understood the situation and had no problem with waiting. But I will never tolerate such an attitude, especially from someone in management. The level of expertise has seemed to decline as well as of late. On a visit before this I was given bad advice and rushed through. This was on a weekday when it was not busy. I am a 38 year old woman and had an extremely glittery eyeshadow suggested by a male "artist". That would be appropriate maybe for a young girl going to a rave, not a seasoned professional with conservative taste. They were out of a medium brown Anastasia brow pencil I always get and I was told just to get taupe, close enough. Um, NO. It was so off it was laughable. Went to the Dior counter at Nordstrom and left feeling like a million bucks. It was literally like night and day, the level of artistry and care was so much higher. I am sad to say I will not be back to Sephora anytime soon as there are better places to get advice and good treatment- which is ultimately what makes me a customer. I'm giving an extra two stars only because there ARE some talented people there who really know what they are doing and care- you just have to seek them out and book them. The staff here is super awesome. I called and had them put a Fenty Galaxy palette on hold. I went to pick it up a few hours later and the worker immediately greeted me and kept asking if I needed help with anything which I appreciated. She showed me where their sample palette was so I could check it out first and it was awesome. After I checked out, I accidentally dropped the palette as I was walking out. The worker was super nice and told me to check it so I could exchange it if it was broken! It wasn't broken (thanks Rhianna)! She gave me some extra samples too. read more

Although greeted when I came in, so disappointed by this location right now. I came in to purchase a $30 concealer and needed to be color matched. The lady helped by me called a colorist on her walkie talkie. I stood there just about 15 min, waiting. Out of the 6 or 7 employees, no one came. I'm on my lunch break, so I had to leave. How terrible. I spend so much money here. There was one gentlemen helping a lady, that's it. I just can't believe the service, you are going to lose out customers this way. I'm now officially a Beauty Insider! What does that mean? I dunno! I presume it means that the more money I spend here, the more points I'll rack up. Ulta has a similar program, but here at Sephora it will be easier to rack up the points quickly because all their products are high end. However, not everything is pricey. I nab a 'Fiber Optic' glittery silver nail polish for $5.00. Yay, five points! They even wrapped it in tissue paper. CVS doesn't do that! And the name of the polish color I bought is Hamstead Court, which I've been to many times. I guess it was meant to be! While browsing, I absent mindedly sprayed myself with a flowery perfume. Later, a salesperson in Sur La Table complimented me on the scent. Now I want it, but I am back in DC, and probably will never know what I sprayed myself with since they probably sell over 100 fragrances. I have always heard hit or miss stories of makeup services at Sephora's but I decided to take the plunge and schedule an appointment for my engagement photos. I am SOOO glad that I did. Christina was my beautician and she was wonderful to work with. She asked me about my current routines and products and what kind of look I was hoping to accomplish with this appointment. For the photos, I wanted a very soft glam look. She pumped it up slightly so that it would capture well in photography. She nailed it! Throughout the process she showed me the products she was using and why she chose them. She took extra time to help show me tips and trick for applying false eyelashes since this is something I still struggle with at 31 years old. The whole time I was there other associates would come by and make comments about how great and beautiful I looked which was a HUGE confidence booster. I knew that the makeup application service is free with at least $50 purchase, but at no time did I feel pressured by my beautician. She did not even mention it, but that may be because I knew going in I was going to buy a few products she used to get me to that threshold. My fiancé was thrilled with the look and has already told me that I need to make another appointment when we plan a nice date night out! I've been a die-hard Sephora fan for almost two decades, but my obsession has waned of late. First off, they no longer carry green concealer (for correction of redness) which is a staple of makeup application. They have it at Morphe next door. They have it at Ulta up the street. They have it at any drugstore anywhere...but not at a nationwide makeup chain like Sephora? Ridiculous. They USED to have it at Sephora under their own brand - it was great. Second, they no longer do fragrance samples. This was a big draw for me as one needs to try a fragrance before committing to an entire bottle of the stuff. I did all my fragrance shopping here because of that. They'd get me hooked on the sample and then I'd gladly pay for the full-size (Tom Ford = GOAT). Now, I will have to buy the whole bottle, try it, and if I don't like it, return it so they can THROW IT AWAY and refund my money. How wasteful is that?!? The staff told me that they don't do fragrance samples anymore because of Covid. Um, A) what does Covid have to do with fragrance samples? and B) why can't you return to doing fragrance samples now that Covid restrictions have ebbed and we're all but back to normal? Makes no sense. Also, I spoke to Sephora HQ and they told me that this is an "individual store decision". So, maybe they just don't feel like having to make fragrance samples anymore? I get that, but making samples to rope customers into full-size purchases has always been the name of the game at Sephora. Don't like it? Don't work there. Now customers can be more wasteful and return full-sized products that they tried, only for them to be thrown into the landfill. Stupid. Sadly, I have a Sephora credit card that I only recently got after years of holding off. Why should I continue to give Sephora more of my money as they continue to give me less? No thanks. read more

Let me start out by saying that everyone who works here is incredible. I'm the kind of person who enjoys shopping, but I do get overwhelmed quickly- especially when I feel like I'm being smothered by every sales associate in the store. The ladies here are good at picking up those cues and can tell when you need help and when you're on a mission and know exactly what you're looking for. I came in with the intention of buying 3 products today, and I left with 3 products. Not once did I feel like they were trying to sell me a thousand other things. Well done, Sephora, well done. I did have a question re: one of the products I was looking for, and because the sales associate that I was initially talking to did not have any experience with the product, she directed me to another sales associate who was able to give me more information before showing me how to use the product on herself, and then on me. I recently went to this location to get the foundation match done. You take off all of your makeup (eye makeup is ok) and they place a sensor on three different areas of your face. The sensor finds your exact color match. Next, the associate tries on the foundations that the sensor matched you with and voila, perfect coverage!! That's what brought me here, but also the great selection of skin, hair, and body care. You can also find the latest fragrances and the staff is very nice. I love Sephora for all my beauty needs. They have a wide range of cosmetics, skin care, fragrance, beauty tools and hair products. I usually frequent the Sephora in Ann Arbor, however I needed to make a stop and this one was close to where I was traveling. I came in to pick up another bottle of perfume. The store was very messy and hard to navigate. As I was browsing through the different perfumes, the sales girl was very persistent. I explained numerous times that I did not need help, but she continued to interrupt the conversation I was having with my husband. How rude! This experience was frustrating, and ultimately I left the store without the products I needed. Sephora is great...just not the Troy location. read more

Every time I walk into Somerset North this place calls my name . If you can't find it here, you don't need it ! Great service , pick up a basket when you walk in the door and you are approached by the sales ladies for a soft sell. Only helpful if you ask. The selection is great, some name brands and some of their own label. The prices are OK if you know what your looking at and they have a great reward point system. Only complaint.... the check out register is in the rear of the store and you have to walk past all temptation again on the way out..... So look straight ahead and keep walking :- read more

I don't even want to think about how much money I spend here. I used to have a Sephora Beauty card (or whatever it's called). Now I am a V.I.B., which means I spend too much money here. ha! I am not mad at the V.I.B. status though. It came with several great coupons. I have to use them in 90 days, which feels like a bit of pressure. I'm pretty confident that I'll use them. Sephora carries just about everything I use for makeup and other beauty products. It can be a little overwhelming to choose a brand if you're not familiar. I tend to stick with the brands I trust. I think they do a pretty good job of keeping the popular items well stocked. Staff is always very nice and helpful. If you'd like to try something, just ask! They might even be able to give you a sample. With the beauty card, you earn points with every purchase. These add up for free samples that have different point values. I think they typically have about 3 or 4 different 100 point samples to choose from, and one "bigger" sample for either 300 or 500 points. I used to always pick something because I love trying new things. Then I realized I have all of these little samples everywhere that I don't need. There isn't a cap on earning points, so save them for something you really want! read more

Sephora is okay if you know exactly what you're looking for with no intention of returning or exchanging. Their policy is a joke. I had a worker match my skin tone for me for the Kat Von D collection, which is really great coverage foundation, in fact... it's too good sometimes! The issue was she matched my tone all wrong it was wayyyy too yellow for my skin but their lighting played with that so I won't 100% blame her. I took it back to exchange it for a different one from the same collection, this should have matched my skin but it was also too yellow, so I decided to switch products all together which I found the perfect match in tarte. Here's the problem with this system. YOU CAN ONLY EXCHANGE ONE ITEM EVERY 365 DAYS! So one time a year... it's so stupid! I found a loop hole around it thanks to an employee from a different location because why the hell am I going to hold into a 50$ foundation if it doesn't even match my skin?! The girls at this location are very rude and act like they're better and prettier than you. I walk in with my hair in a bun and sweat pants and no one even bothers to see if I need help finding anything. This mall had a lot of people like that, my bad for being comfortable -_-. For the girls who do go out of their way to help customers, thank you! You're all amazing. To the cashiers who act like their lives are so hard and hate actually doing their jobs, good luck in future jobs. Needless to say the biggest complaint is the return policy. Three days ago, I had my prom! I decided to have my makeup done at Sephora. The day was hectic so I showed up at 2:30 hoping that my beautician would be able to see me earlier than my appointment at 3:00pm. Miranda was so incredibly nice and she took me thirty minutes earlier than my appointment. We sat at the beauty station at the center of the store and went to work. She asked me questions to gain what kind of style I would like. At the end of the appointment I was so impressed with my look! I absolutely loved it! I only needed to make a 50 dollar purchase for my appointment . I ended up buying the Stila liquid lipstick, Fenty match stick, and Stila liquid eyeshadow . All of which were products Miranda used to accomplish my look. I ended up paying 75 dollars for the products and the makeup appointment. I HIGHLY recommended getting your makeup done here with MIRANDA! She's so nice and it's a great way of using over 100 dollars worth of products for half the price. At the end of the night my makeup still looked amazing and I didn't even need to touch up my lipstick. read more

To be honest I had a preconceived notions that the Sephora employees would be rude when doing my make up based on stories that I have heard so that made me nervous. However when I went yesterday to get my makeup done for prom I was welcomed in by the employees. The make up artist who did my make up, Sue, was super friendly. I had a custom makeover for 45 minutes and she spent extra time on me to make sure that I looked my best for prom. My make up turned out beautiful and I received many compliments from friends and family. Having that experience at the Sephora at Somerset made my night 10 times better. If you are able to get Sue as your artist I highly recommend her because she is very talented! read more

I came in at around 1030 am today, 1/2 hour after they opened. I walked in and wasn't acknowledged by the two staff members right by the door. I came in to purchase a new NARS foundation but when not one of the about six employees I saw even bothered to check if I needed anything or even say hi, I left. I went right downstairs to MAC where I had an amazing experience. It was a little more expensive but worth it for the customer service alone. I'll probably rethink spending any more money at Sephora just from this experience. read more

Sephora as a store gets 4 stars as a base. Great setup, easy to try, and easy to return. I recently tried to return something without a receipt, and without a wallet (I'm not too smart after a root canal). The cashier was able to locate my receipt through the Beauty Insider database and even offered to refund back onto the credit card I used! Datamining in all its glory! Since it was a present for my mom, which I thought she didn't want anymore, I just opted for the gift card. Of course, my mom did want to exchange it, so I got the item and went back in line. Except, I was on prescription pain killers, so I grabbed the wrong one. One of the cashiers helped me find the right one, and added another pretty, shiny thing to the order that my mom wanted... and also gave my mom a tutorial on winged eyeliner. Talk about customer service! One of the workers helped my mom clean up her under eye and gave her advice about concealer. Seeing my mom happy, makes me happy. And when my mom feels pretty and doted on, she's very happy. Since this store is in Somerset, they get busy. Long lines on the weekend, but if you're paying with credit, there's usually someone with a handheld machine to process your purchase to speed things up. The only con is that they don't have a real clearance area like other Sephora stores. Not a huge problem, but I am a huge clearance shopper. read more

I am a faithful Sephora fan. From the minute I walk into the store, my face lights up at the sight of shelves stacked with goodies that would make any product junkie squeal with delight. I am also very loyal. Once I enjoy a positive experience, I continue to give a store my business. So when I needed to buy a lipstick / gloss combination for a wedding I am in this weekend, I decided to go to Sephora after sampling a few shades at MAC in Macy's. I had to wait over 15 minutes for service - and that is because I found someone and asked her if she was helping anybody. For the holidays, the store wasn't packed AT ALL. It is what happened next that bothered me. One girl helped me and couldn't find a shade that looked good so she asked someone else. The second woman didn't even look at me or ask me what I wanted but gave me a snarky comment when I joked with her that since I'm already brown everywhere, I didn't want a brown lip color. But she pushed one at me anyway. Then she also passed me off to someone else. This woman was friendly but was clearly fed up that I didn't find on anything I like. I can say with ease that I am not a pushy customer. I do not have to be satisfied. A girl like me can find things herself, so when I ask for help, it's because I genuinely needed it. All three women left me alone and gave me sub-par service - probably looking for bigger fish to fry. The third woman left me with some lipstick to try on but I put it down after she walked away and left. I returned to MAC in Macy's and purchased a great lipstick and lip gloss. From now on, I will try to find the few sales associates that have always been so helpful and kind to me. I spend quite a bit of money at Sephora throughout the year on gifts and items for myself. The service I received today was haughty, rude, and sad considering it's the time of year when people just need help so they can get on their way. read more

Not only do they carry most of the makeup lines (including Dior), but Elizabeth the beauty consultant went out of her way to match my sister and cousin to their perfect foundation color, provided tons of samples, and gave us great tips for makeup application (including tips for contouring). Did not feel pressured to buy anything but the products spoke for themselves (make up forever and Laura mercier). Honestly I would steal her for my own wedding if I could. Go see her! read more

I'm a VIB Rouge with Sephora so needless to say I'm obsessed and have been to a great many stores, but this one is one of my favorites. I've been here twice while in town for weddings. Both times I had a makeup application and both MUA's did a fantastic job. They were SO attentive and really listened to the look I was going for and both times I was thrilled with my makeup. As a Rouge makeup applications are complimentary so I also appreciated that I never felt pressured to buy anything and that they were more than happy to make me up samples of products they used so I could try them again at home before committing. I even found two of my holy grail products (the Hourglass Illusion and Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette) thanks to the MUA. Definitely a great store if you want attentive, approachable, friendly service. read more

I love Sephora, I've been Rouge for 3 years but I absolutely hate this location and will only order online. I've received awful service every time I've been in here. Usually it's just zero service. I can be in a section with an employee right next to me & they won't talk to me. I had a gentleman offer to show me foundation & show me the shade he uses on my skin. One problem with this, I'm Caucasian & he's African American, so there's no way his shade would work for me. I've been color matched completely wrong on a couple occasions & their return/exchange policy is awful. I purchased the wrong item during VIB sale & wanted to exchange for the correct one. I was told no because it was during the sale despite bringing the receipt to show them I received it at a lower price & not expecting the sale discount on the new one. And expressing this multiple times. Despite spending $260 in one trip, when asking for a sample on something the girls were extremely rude & unwilling to help. Furthermore the attitude I received made me feel as if I was in the wrong for asking. I will only shop online & I have decided to overall stop supporting Sephora as much as I do completely due to experiences in this shop. These are only a couple of MANY experiences over a 4 year span. It wasn't one bad experience or a bad day or maybe a bad manager; the leadership overall & attitude of this place is awful. Conversely, Partridge Creek location is AWESOME. Although I work in this mall, I'd much rather make the drive to Partridge or pay shipping. That says a lot. read more
