This station is simple and does the job. Trains come and get you. I highly suggest you get there at least 30 minutes before your train arrives. You will have to walk up two flights of stairs or take an elevator to get to the train tracks. From there you will take a different set of stairs or elevator to get you to the track. But, if you follow the guidelines on when to arrive, you should have no problem and should be on time. One thing about this station is that there is not a real good area to protect you from the elements. There is one enclosed area that has 2-3 heating elements but, the entrance and exit to the area is open so if it is windy it will not protect you from that. There is minimal seating available. It just is not a bells and whistle type of station. But, it does what it needs to do. It is fairly clean, and there is enough parking available. It is easy to get to and a great station for those around who want to avoid taking their car into Philly to catch a train. read more

One of the worst experiences I've ever had with public transportation. First of how hard is it to fix an elevator so that you're disabled passengers can actually get up and down the track. Second off how hard is it for your conductors to announce the trains? My boyfriend and I miss our train because we didn't know that the number will be different than the ticket that we bought. We ended up having to take septa down to 30th St. and paying additional cost. Get your act together, Philly. read more

I went to drop off my girlfriend at the Paoli station today. What an awful experience. The train was pulling in but we could not get on the train as used to be the case. It is now required that you go up two flights and over the tracks and around and down to a narrow platform in the middle of the tracks. As a result we missed her train for which we had arrived in plenty of time to get. The old station was great, the new one is awful. I researched the cost of this new ugly station and was surprised to find that it cost $48 Million! (sombody made some money on that one) I would be really annoyed if I were a disabled person or in a wheel chair having to navigate that 3D maze. The old station made sense and was far better. I will never get on or off at this stop again. read more

A small train station. The SEPTA regional rail and Amtrak stop here. The regional rail line is the Paoli/Thorndale. Amtrak would be the Keystone service and possibly others. There are heat lamps on the platform because it's outdoors. read more

Free overnight parking on the weekends? You bet. The only downside of this lot, is its size, although I have always lucked out with finding a space. Thins out after 5:30pm on the weekdays and super easy to find spaces before 11am on the weekend. Pretty safe and easily located off 30 business. $1/day if during the week. A small store during the commute for a paper and/or coffee. read more

Parking is still a royal PITA but haven't seen any homeless people in quite some time and they have recently remodeled the bathrooms, which was a nice improvement. There is also a little coffee store attached to the train station that is worth stopping by if you are not a Starbucks fan or don't feel like walking across the parking lot. read more

You can wait inside during normal business hours and the the Armtrak Staff and Speta staff are nice and friendly. If you going to 30th Street Station, take Amtrak. Much faster than the regional rail for Speta. Obviosuly, you pay a little bit more but you only have one life to live. read more

Coffee shop - only open in the mornings and early afternoon (thus never whenI am there.) Parking lot is big but fills up EARLY with commuters. A few benches outside to wait for the train when the station is closed. It's OK. Just Meh. read more

I love the Paoli Train Station. Why? When I have to catch Amtrak to New York City for work, the Paoli station saves me from having to catch it in Philly. It's a long ride, but it's quiet and it saves me the time and trouble of having to go to 30th Street. There are bathrooms, a place to buy coffee and ticket windows for both Septa and Amtrak. The parking lot isn't huge but when I catch the early train to NYC it's not an issue for me. read more

I'm from the other side of PA and as such, I've had little opportunity to ride SEPTA. It's had its fair share and then some of complaints, but SEPTA appears to take you where you want to go. I was connecting between Amtrak and SEPTA here, and the trains on this line appear to operate frequently enough, even on a Sunday. I had about 45 minutes in between trains which was well spent at the adjacent Starbucks. read more

Nice but... Looks like an old military cargo plane pax terminal, with its cinder block walls painted Cold-War vintage "banana yuck" color, the hard and impersonal hardwood benches, the dirty bathroom, and the ever so-small parking lot. Totally utilitarian, but at least it is a cover and a warm place on a rainy day. And the fact that it is an Amtrak station is a plus for the suburbs. read more

Had a very pleasant but brief time here starting my journey to 30th Street Station and southward to Florida by plane. The gentleman at the ticket office answered my questions quickly and accurately. it was quite busy at that time. (around 7:15 a.m.) I actually didn't get much of a look at the station because I was able to catch an earlier train than I had planned to take, so I was on my way very soon after I bought my ticket. Parking looked very limited. My sister and I parked on the street nearby so she wouldn't get stuck in the station's traffic. Will try it again next time I visit as the drive in from the airport was awful. read more

Been going through Paoli for just about 2 years now, and I like it! The station is rather small and you need to use the above-ground pathway to switch sides of the platform, but the place is still pretty good. Septa trains run with relative frequency, and Amtrak connectivity is a blessing. 6.50 (5.52 with Student Advantage) is a steal for the quiet, comfort, and time savings that Amtrak brings to the journey between Paoli and Philadelphia. The small coffee shop is run by a wonderful lady who makes some very good coffee and chai, and is a pleasure to talk to. Stop by next time you're coming through. As for the station itself, the bathrooms are rather grimy and the vending machines overpriced. But it still gets the job done! read more

Next stop PAOLI! This regional rail goes from Thorndale to Center City with tons of stops along the way. It's certainly not the speediest train but it's relatively reliable, and generally clean. Meanwhile, Amtrak also stops in Paoli making it a very convenient train station. The Paoli Train Station is certainly not the nicest along this Main Line stretch but it works. There are benches in the station and outside alongside the tracks. There are a decent amount of trash cans to help reduce littering, which deserves a round of applause. Restrooms are inside, so if you need to go, go. The R5 won't have any amenities. Buy your tickets inside to save some green ($). Also, you can only buy tickets onboard with cash, which leaves you with less options. Parking is hit or miss. Somedays I find parking immediately, while on other days I end up trekking to Devon to get on the train there. Remember to bring 4 quarters to throw in the machine located on the platform to pay for your parking. read more

A funny story and a déjà vu moment: when I stepped into this station after moving down to Philadelphia, I had a feeling of deja vu. It turns out that I had visited this station many years before when I was interviewing for my first job with a computer company in the Paoli area. Getting off the train into this small, country train station convinced me, at the time, that Paoli was the last place on earth I wanted to work and live at. The irony is that I ended up in Pennsylvania many years later, looking for a rustic life in the country. C'est la vie. read more

There should be a no star option I hate septa. They changed the times didn't update the app and I missed my train. I've Caught the train for 4 years and they now just want to change the time for the 6:59! It's unbelievable. Septa is always late and they still make you pay even when there a half and hour late! read more

Come one, come all! Public Transit Commuters transit galore. Melting pot for Malvern/Paoli workers commuting to and from the city of brotherly love. Also serves as Amtrak stop. Waiting area is very large however I wish it had a cute little coffee house like Wayne or Wynnewood. Can't get everything and can't complain since there is a Starbucks in spitting distance. read more

The Paoli station is in such dire need of a make over it's not funny. The platforms are deteriorating, there is no automated train status/arrival placards (other than a occasion PA announcement which never seems to be right) of train status and the parking / metering is archaic. The place is falling apart! Granted they are dumping some money into redoing the bathrooms at the station but I'm sure that was forced repair as opposed to up one of customer service. SEPTA runs the station and as they battle yet another employee strike there services are eroding around them... If your going to once again put your hand out for more money how bout you start showing some better capital investments? read more

Would not reccomend if you need to park. Wish I realized that before I purchased a monthly pass. They do have a great schedule, if you can aviod parking. read more
