Always great customer service here. Recently came back to purchase a few 50 lb bags of Palm Springs gold sand (DG). The staff handling the front desk were courteous and the staff member helping load up my car was super efficient too. In the past, they were able to help me with a large order of cement blocks for a retaining wall. I'd recommend coming by in person to walk the property to see the materials and if you aren't 100% sure what want/need. Will definitely be back for future landscaping needs. read more

Sepulveda cares about Homeowners!! I feel compelled to write this review. I went to their business to buy rock in bulk for my backyard. I am not a contractor and don't know much about this process. I picked out the rock and bought a scoop at the front desk. I took the ticket to the yard area and the fork lift driver brought a bag. He weighed the bag and it showed 2356lbs. He told me he would have to pour some in but not all of it as it was too much. I showed him that the sticker and receipt that shows 1400lbs. So I suggested we subtract 1400 from 2356 to determine how much needs to remain in the bag. He agreed and we did so and I left. I ended up needing another scoop so I went back and bought another. A different yard worker brought the bag from before. I commented that the bag only had 900 or so lbs left and was not a full scoop. He seemed confused as he said it was one scoop. I offered to get clarity at the front office and did. The lady in the office confirmed the scoop was 1400 lbs and told the yard staff to add rock until it weighed 1400. We went back to the loading area to do so when another worker told them not to. He told me that the bag was one scoop and they could not add more. What do I know?! I'm being told different things so I ask "ok so what do we do to resolve this because I'm being told two different things?" He says he'll go talk to the front and I go with him. He tells the office lady the same thing and she says she has always understood it to be 1400 lbs. He says the label doesn't matter walks out of the office. I'm left confused and ask what the decision is and who decides. The font lady is upset and says that she doesn't think its right that the label says 1400 and for me to only get 900. Another male office staff says he always thought it was 1400 as well but does not know. I state "well if he's the boss and make the final call then fine". The lady says he is a yard supervisor but reiterates that she doesn't think its fair. At this point a woman who I think is an office supervisor comes to talk to me and educates me that the label is an approximation of a tractor scoop and varies. She acknowledges the confusion and understands that I was told something different than that. She tries to find the yard supervisor who I guess has still walked off. She makes the decision to add the weight to the scoop as resolution, keeping in mind that going forward, the weight will be half of the bag for one scoop and a full bag for two scoops - regardless of weight. I got the impression that the supervisor was not happy with the office lady but I want to make it clear that the situation was resolved very much how it should have been. Lady in the office (I don't know your name) . . . Thank you!!! You advocated for me and said out loud what I was thinking. You were helping and looking out for me. You didn't say anything I wasn't already thinking. I appreciate you. I am not a contractor. I'm a homeowner doing a small project (big for me) and that place is intimidating but you made me feel like I matter. Supervisor (again sorry I don't know your name). You were also amazing. You split the difference by helping me understand but making sure I didn't feel cheated. Its a few hundred lbs of rock but you keep a customer. No I get how this works. Yard supervisor. . . you were probably right the whole time but you gotta understand the other side of the equation. I wasn't trying to "get something by" your business. I also had no idea who was in charge. Walking off was not great but I get that your job is running the yard not customer facing. Sure. . . the office lady may have been a bit rough around the edges but I am in a rock yard not a fancy hotel. I get that as a supervisor (I am in management) you don't want staff saying things that might seems disparaging to you own business but I didn't get that from her. She just has a lot of empathy for the little guy. That was my takeaway anyway. I'll be coming back knowing you guys care about every customer. read more

They gave us an estimate to partially refill pavers with pea gravel when we went to bid a job... We were told 20 scoops by the initial estimate, then 66 before we went to do the job. We ordered 25 just in case and went against their recommendation. We ended up only using about 5 total scoops and they're basically telling us "it's our problem" and they won't allow us to return it unless it's in bags. Unfortunately they didn't deliver in any bags so we're stuck making 4 dump runs to pick it all up. read more

I could not have been more pleased with our service at Sepulveda. My husband and I wanted to find some affordable flagstones for a front yard walkway. We went on two different occasions to purchase rocks for a landscape project. On our first visit, we looked at all the selections to get ideas and start narrowing down the details for the project. We purchased some stones to get us started. Our second trip was to buy everything we needed to install drought tolerant landscaping in our huge front yard. We had two completely different experiences on those trips, so I can tell you that they can be very nice and helpful, but only if you're spending a lot of money. As for the selection, it is awesome -- a little overwhelming to the novice, frankly. They have whatever you could dream of in the way of rocks. If you order lots like we did, they'll arrange delivery. They were very nice and helpful about this and we only had to wait a few days for our rocks to arrive. The driver was timely polite and pretty helpful. I could kind of tell that he didn't want to be overly helpful. We paid for an hour of "placement" service, but he got out of there in under 20 minutes, leaving me to disassemble a crate and move the medium boulders. Some of them ended up in places we did not want them because they were simply too large to move. My husband and I were able to shove them off the crate and they ended up staying where they landed. The expansive selection and good prices will bring us back next year when we start re-doing the back yard. I'll just have to order everything at once to get the nicer service. read more

If I could give no stars I would've. Horrible pricing and over charge for simple materials. $71 (plus tax) per cubic yard for brown wood chips I can at another vendor for $20 less per yard. No contractor pricing to offset cost to customer so our mark up increases. To top it all off they wanted $93 to deliver 1/4 mile from their location. Hope you bid your jobs high because this provider will eat through your capital. No stars! read more

Do NOT come here..Talk about no customer Service. Here we are tying to support local businesses but of course they are the worse. I would have given them no stars, but the system would not allow it. My husband I went to buy material for a new walkway. We were walked outside to the area where the flagstone was and where told what we needed to do. Once we decide what we wanted we flagged down one o f the forklift driver down and told him we were ready, he said he would brining us a pallet to place the stone in. He said he would help another customer and come back to us. He then went and helped another customer as he was the only forklift guy out helping or for that matter the only person that really helped us beside the guy in the office. I would say we were there waiting for about 30 minutes. The supervisor came out to tell us to take pictures of the stones we wanted because they had to close. We did wait close? We have been waiting for a pallet. He did you can come back tomorrow. We went early this morning Saturday, to Resource Building Materials in Chino who went above and beyond to help us. I priced pavers at Home Depot and Lowe's then visited Sepulveda Bldg Materials and saved $150.00 on pavers that were even 1/2" thicker. I bought the paver base and sand as well and I'm sure that was less than the retail stores. Sepulveda was a pleasure to deal with and very professional. I will certainly use them again. read more

My wife and I went to Sepulveda Building Materials on Waterman Ave. in San Bernardino on Saturday, Oct 27. to look for stone veneer siding and Sepulveda has a large selection to chose from. Problem is there is no customer service. The bald guy behind the counter acted like we were bothering him when asked about estimates for our job and whenever the phone rang he would stop in midsentence with us and answer. He would talk on the phone for 7 minutes never even looking up at us. After the 2nd call we just left. I remember 20 years ago going to Sepulveda and receiving no service. Fool me twice, shame on me. We were ready to spend quite a bit of money! You just lost a customer. How stupid, especially in this economy! We have talked to a couple of people who have visited your store & they have received the same treatment, amazing that you are still in business. read more
