I am 10 years old and spent this summer at Camp Scully, and it was a massive disappointment. If you…read morewant your kid to sit around doing literal nothing with broken equipment all day, this is the place for you. Here is what a "typical day" actually looks like: * The "Do Nothing" Woods Trip: They march you into the woods to sit there and do nothing. The "challenge course" features a broken giant timber seesaw and a dangerous stand-up swing that almost launches you directly into a tree trunk. You have to be on high alert instead of having fun. * Useless Sports Areas: The Gaga pit has no ball. The Nine Square court has a completely deflated ball. The basketball court has a half-blown-up ball that won't bounce, and they constantly run out of kickballs because the field is close enough to the lake where you can kick it over the fence with no netting to stop them from rolling in. * Awful Supervision: They brag about "extreme supervision," but older kids constantly wander in and completely take over the Gaga pit when they are supposed to be somewhere else. They also do that with basketball games and Gaga, counselors do nothing to stop it. * Miserable Scheduling: Mondays start with a swim test where they make you sit in the blazing hot sun for an hour with zero shade or activities while they slowly test groups one by one. * Closed Activities: Archery 1 was open exactly once all summer. Archery 2 is always closed because counselors don't want to walk that far back into the woods. The only good parts of the entire day are the weekly kayaking and the Snack Shack. Everything else is broken, boring, or lazy. I am moving to a YMCA travel camp next year and cannot wait to leave this place behind. Save your money.

The girls bathroom would have poop on the floor and period blood on the seats and often times only one stall would be open even with the 20 girls waiting!

So Sunday night I couldn't sleep of course thinking about my child who has never been anywhere but home, so I drive up there Monday morning and I was told I could not see my child ( it's not recommended ) ok cool I get it home sickness, so I left. Called there Tuesday was told my child was doing fine. Weds I get a call from my child saying he wants to come home. He did not seem happy or in a good mood at all. Which is weird because if my child was having a good time, he would never call me so I knew something was up. He told me he was crying himself to sleep and every time I called up there It was not brought to my attention. His back is all bit up with bug bites. Just a real traumatizing and horrible experience for his first time at Sleepaway camp. Not to mention they push the God stuff a little too hard on the kids. It kind of reminded me actually of a cult. I'm so upset my child had such a awful experience, his first time going to a sleep away camp.
