Our family will always have a special place in our hearts for Serendipity. Even a year after leaving, my daughter still talks about her teachers, her friends, and all the things she learned there - which speaks volumes about the impact they had. The teachers are incredibly warm and caring, and it truly feels like more than just a preschool. The environment is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, with creative monthly themes that make learning fun and engaging. They even have live animals, including a bunny and reptiles, which my daughter absolutely loved. She especially enjoyed the baking activities and still uses skills she learned there in her everyday life. We also really appreciated the communication with weekly progress reports keeping us informed and the monthly photo albums were such a joy to go through together, helping her re-live and talk about everything she experienced. The holiday pageant was another highlight! So well-organized and heartfelt, just like everything they do. We were blown away! Most importantly, they prepared our daughter so well for "big girl school" (TK), giving her confidence and a strong foundation. When our son first arrived at Serendipity, he was a very energetic young boy with a short attention span and could be quite a challenging student at times. Over the past two years, through both the Butterfly and Rabbit classes, we have watched him grow and flourish in ways we could never have imagined. The teachers have been absolutely incredible. Not once did they complain about our son or make us feel that he was "too much." Instead, they consistently used their experience, patience, skills, and expertise to understand him, support him, and help him develop into the confident, capable young boy he is today. Thanks to their guidance and dedication, he has made tremendous progress both emotionally and academically. The growth we have seen in his confidence, ability to focus, social skills, and love of learning has been remarkable. As he now prepares to graduate and move on to kindergarten, we are so grateful for the role Serendipity has played in his journey. the same kid is crying outside literally every single day in a week and yet these teachers won't take him inside and instead are very unconcerned that this business exists within a neighborhood. In preparation for Kindergarten, this January, my daughter and I have toured and met early with the major Catholic private schools in the area; and I am really happy to hear all of them having a very positive experience with the children that have come from Serendipity. During our tours, my daughter and I, were able to juxtapose these schools' curricula to Serendipity's and it is not only similar but also very complete in the material children are being exposed to before kindergarten. Franchesca is the most wonderful teacher/owner of this amazing pre school. My daughter and both of her cousins attend 2 years at Serendipity and it was the best two years of their young lives. We can't say enough good things about our son's time at Serendipity. In the beginning our son was shy and timid and by the end he was asking to go everyday. Go to another preschool. This one has an ok academic program, but the director is not very friendly. Seems very rigid and cold. Very formal, not the idea I had in mind for a preschool. Serendipity is also very expensive. There are preschool programs through the Monterey Parks and Rec that are wonderful. There are 3 or 4 great preschool programs for 1/3 of the price of Serendipity! Save your money and take your child to one of the parks and rec programs. They'll get a great education and your wallet won't take such a hit! read more

My daughter attended serendipity for two years. I cannot say enough about this establishment! From the moment you walk in you are reminded of a preschool you probably attended yourself as a child. It's just magical. The staff is so kind and welcoming and really focused on your children and the curriculum. I looked into at least 4 other preschool's in the area and non could hold a candle to what serendipity offers academically. The teachers have all been there for many many years and they love their jobs. The owner Francesca is wonderful. From her greeting the children each day to releasing them to you personally at pick up to running into her out and about in town,she always has a smile and a hug. We treasure the time my son went to this school. I enrolled him here free we became dissatisfied with the daycare at Presidio after many of the good teachers left. As reluctant I was to switch schools, finding Serendipity was such great luck when they had an opening for my son. I had also checked out another daycare down the street but felt like this was more structured and a better fit for my son and what he was used to. His first day was great, he fit right in and everyone made him feel welcome. He met some great friends and looked forward to school every day. I really appreciated the daily written progress reports my son got and felt like I was up to date with his learning every step of the way. He would come home with something new and fun to tell me every day or a new song he learned. The teachers are so warm and friendly. I was really sad when he graduated preschool! After moving on from Serendipity my son has gone on to be one of the top students in his class and I believe the strong foundation he got at Serendipity before moving into kindergarten helped prepare him. It may not be the best fit for every child and it really depends on your child, but for us it worked out very well and I often recommend this school to parents new in town. Serendipity is our #1, and will always be :) The experience we had there was amazing! Both my girls (now 6th grade and 2nd grade) went there there and still talk about it to this day. They always tell me how they wished they could go back! The staff at the school is so welcoming, caring, and thoughtful. The activities and learning at that school is truly on another level. My girls loved the baking projects, looked forward to all the fun holiday celebrations, not to mention the best Christmas program ever! The teachers are so wonderful with the children, and are very knowledgeable about the children's wants and needs. It feels more like family than just a preschool. We've experienced other local childcare and pre-school situations - and this by far is THE BEST. The teachers are exceptional and respectful, the directors are organized, the class size is small, and most importantly the children LEARN. Schedule flexibility - pick your days, part-time morning and afternoon options. School layout provides a stimulating learning environment. Teachers also evaluate the children twice a year and provide feedback on academic achievement and emotional maturity. They have a dedicated art teacher on staff. CONS: Full-time tuition is probably on the higher-end of other local preschools in comparison. My son is currently enrolled. He has really become enthusiastic about learning letters, numbers, words and concepts. read more

My 4 year old attended this school and loved it. They have part time and full time availability. The school's environment is adorable and the teachers are very loving and obviously want what is best for the children. Its a good balance of play based learning and structured learning. Serendipity is an absolutely wonderful and magical place! Both of my boys attended Serendipity and they both loved it and flourished during their time there. Every month a there is new theme for learning and all the decor changes! The theme transcends into play, learning, arts and crafts and even little treats that kids get to make themselves. New letters from the alphabet assigned every month to guide "show and tell" meant my boys were at home continuing to practice their letters and sounds as they rummaged through their toys for something new to share. I could see how this kept my kids engaged and excited to return every day. I cannot speak highly enough about the teachers at Serendipity, they are sage professionals, so kind, loving, patient and passionate about teaching.
