Miss Megan was the most incredible child care professional I've ever met. She set the bar so high on our visit to Carmel that I haven't been able to find a comparison at home. She arrived on time, and asked inquisitive questions about my daughter and her schedule etc. My daughter is a year and half and rarely is it smooth when I leave her. We can't say enough good things about Nicole and Art on Wheels! She's watched our kids twice, and both times she's been wonderful--prompt, responsive, easy to communicate with, and so good with our daughter (4) and son (2). As soon as she arrives and sets down her big tubs of toys and art supplies, they're engaged: playing, crafting, rummaging for treasures. Nicole sends lots of pictures of the children working on their art projects. After viewing the first few photos, my husband and I were able to relax and enjoy our time away, knowing that our kids were having fun and being creative. And Nicole has this calm, confident air--you feel like she can handle anything. We needed babysitting services for 2 days during a wedding weekend in Carmel for a 9 month old, 6 year old and almost 9 year old. From the start, I was honest about problems with the 9 month old experiencing stranger danger. Nicole tried to convince me to hire a second sitter for that child. I didn't think she understood that the 9 month old would have been more freaked out with a sitter who was not associated with her siblings so I declined. I explained that she eventually would settle down but sitter would have to be able to handle that. We did not care about arts and crafts. Of the 3 sitters only one was good, one was adequate and one was absolutely horrible. The one thing I asked was that the children's mother be able to sit through the wedding dinner but she, I, and the wedding planner kept getting texts throughout the dinner indicating that the sitter couldn't handle the baby and someone needed to relieve her. This was extremely disruptive as I was Mother of the Bride and was due to deliver my speech. I think if you are looking for a crafting experience with your child they are very capable, but do NOT consider them babysitters in the least. Nicole herself may be good but do NOT rely on any of her hires. None cleaned up their messes, leaving supplies and dirty dishes sitting around and one scraping uneaten macaroni and cheese down a sink drain without a garbage disposal. That was not fun to retrieve! I would have never felt they deserved it but a tip was automatically added to the charges. read more

Fantastic experience!!! Our fur baby was SO excited to see Nicole each day. The cute update pics she sent while we were out, really put us at ease knowing our pup was in great hands. Our 4.5 year old daughter spent two full days with Nicole and is asking to play with her again. The art projects really hit the mark with our daughter who was in her happy place. You get two kinds of childcare/babysitters. Those that do it because it's a job and they like kids or those who find their purpose in kids and get to do it for a job. Nicole is the latter. We received regular photos of our daughter at "work" and never worried about her. It made for such a wonderful time for all of us! We visited Carmel Valley Ranch this week to celebrate our seven year anniversary...with both of our kids in tow. We wanted a night out to celebrate, so on the recommendation of a friend we reached out to Nicole, and she was INCREDIBLE! Our baby boy woke up as soon as we left the room (of course) and she got him back down without losing the interest of our four year old daughter (a true miracle). She brought an art cart full of activities to keep her occupied all night (and some special projects to take home as souvenirs!), was incredibly prompt and beyond professional. We live in the Bay Area and often find ourselves in wine country, but after this experience we'll head south more often, specifically because of Art On Wheels (and Nicole)! Our daughter has been attending Nicole's daycare/preschool for several months, and we cannot recommend her enough. She is one of the few (maybe only?) places that is licensed and incredibly flexible with your schedule. Add that to all the wonderful features mentioned in the previous reviews (plus the sweetest kids who all clearly adore "Nini" and each other), it is no wonder our daughter begs to go preschool! You guys. Nicole is everything. Or as the kiddos call her, Nini. From the moment my husband and I went for a tour, I just knew it was the place for us. Nini's home has the most magical, calming energy and it is truly a kids paradise. It is clean and cozy. Our daughter attended during the pandemic when the military daycares were at reduced capacity and we did not have an illness or covid scare once. Every day my daughter looked forward to going; she was happier when I picked her up than when I dropped her off and was always excited to go back the next day. She used to have separation anxiety at the military daycare but that did not happen once at Nini's house. Nini has multiple indoor and outdoor areas to play and the best part is that she takes care of your kids like her own. If they're going outside, she puts sunscreen on them. If it seems like they're ready to potty train, she'll offer the potty. If your kiddo doesn't like the snack you sent, she'll give them something of hers. All of this without even asking. It was the most wonderful thing in the world to pick up my daughter, she was smiling, smelled like sunshine and had dirt under her nails - just what childhood should be. Ohh! I haven't even mentioned the arts and crafts yet!! We had to make a special place in our home to showcase all of the beautiful art my daughter brought home. Every day was something new, different and exciting. If you are considering Art on Wheels for you kiddo, do it. If there is space available, snag it as fast as you can. read more

My SIL got married up at Bernardus this past weekend and excluded most kids from the wedding/reception. Our son (2.5) was the ring bearer but he was meant to only walk down the aisle with the box and then excuse himself from the ceremony and then make a brief appearance at the dinner reception for eating. My 4-month-old though needed babysitting for the entire duration. That's why we hired Art on Wheels from 4-10pm. I spoke with Nicole and she quickly put me at ease - I had never had a babysitter for my kids much less in a city we don't live in. She sent Nichele who was amazing! She showed up a few minutes early and arrived with all her tools for artwork. She was warm and professional and easily stepped in to watch my daughter so we could take my son to the ceremony. When my son went back during the ceremony/happy hour she helped him create a lovely Mother's Day card and even do some artwork and make a sand-message-in-the-bottle which he enjoyed. She texted us back when I sent check-ins during the evening and even sent photos of the baby asleep so I would have peace of mind. When we returned at the end of the night, she had successfully put both kids to bed. Payment was easy through venmo. On the expensive side for babysitting but when you are in a destination and at an event and to have someone who can come to the hotel room that is worth it. Definitely recommend and it's just a shame they aren't also down here in OC. read more

We had the best experience with Nicole! We found Art On Wheels through our hotel in Carmel Valley. Nicole came for two nights while we were in town. She was professional and the kids adored her! She fed two kids (2.5 and 1), did fun and unique art projects we loved, and put both kids to sleep. It is so hard to find someone that is capable of handling two young kids, and Nicole was amazing. Nicole (Nini) is amazing! Her energy is calming and my 2 year old comes home super happy every day. Her home is clean, full of fun toys, the kids spend a bunch of time outside during appropriate weather and they get a ton of exercise. I have zero idea how she manages to wrangle multiple kids into completing so many art projects during the day but she does and my kid comes home probably cleaner than I sent her. I had been worried when we first placed her in daycare that my daughter would have separation anxiety... nope. I walk her to the door, she rips off her shoes and jacket and is GONE into the art room.
