This place is a little gem Hidden in Kanawha City . The outside looks like normal building but it's really an oasis in the making . I have not tried all the services but the ones I have tried have been great . They offer everything from manicures to micro blading . The one complaint I was when they were running 45 min behind and didn't tell me . I let them know they should inform clients when that happens . The following times I have been there they call Or tell me when they are running behind or when they can take me earlier . You can get your hair done there and spray tans, facials and massages . I love that they run specials . They offer water to their customers and have ample parking . It's easy to check out when your done and there is a room to relax while your waiting . This room is a lounge and separate from the rest of the service rooms . I hope this business stays in business and they continue to grow . So glad I found this place . Summery: No signs, Cheap furniture, Stench in building, just get rid of "murder massage", use of cooking oil, and making fun of customers. This place is not professional what so ever, first off it is very hard to find due to lack of billboards/signs. If my Apple Maps didn't say this "business" was located on the third floor I would have never walked in. I booked the "murder massage" (1h murder podcast and "full body" massage) she brought a phone in and played it through what I could only assume was YouTube ( with adds that she was more focused on skipping than massaging). She didn't touch my legs at all which highly disappointed me due to that being the reason I came and the cheap massage table left bruises on my cheeks and my cheekbones are extremely sore, while getting the massage I could hear the other employees laughing in the hallway. Terrible experience not to mention the use of cooking oil for massage oil, and the smell of cat food combined with hand sanitizer throughout the whole building. Not relaxing at all, I heard them laughing and discriminating against customers in the hallway while I was getting dressed. I booked 3 hour long massages once we got there the building had a smell, it was not clean, and ot was cold (61 degrees per thermostat) .. the young girls wanted to stick all 3 of us in a room which was not appropriate and she stated all they had was 2 rooms.. they placed 2 of us in one room and one in the other (which was fine), the room had dirty linens in the corner and debris all over the floor (not clean at all) and product on the floor.. my appointments were scheduled for 2 and they didn't start until 2:23 .. the girl slung cold olive oil (cooking oil) all over me and rubbed it in (no massage techniques were used) the massage (rub) ended at 2:49. The massage therapist were whispering and laughing the whole time which was very disrespectful... I called them last second and explained to the owner of what was going on that my hairdresser that was supposed to do my hair had an emergency last second and canceled on me five hours before my wedding. The owner of the salon was absolutely amazing and reassuring me that they would take care of me and I was in good hands. I told her on the phone. I didn't expect her to have no room in her day and it wasn't her problem, but I really needed help. She was more than willing to help me and drop everything to help me to add to the experience She didn't charge to do my hair at all. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing. All of the girls were very welcoming and I will always be forever grateful. And the make up artist that did my make up. If I recall correctly, her name was Hailey. She did absolutely amazing. Did my make up to a T of how I would do it. Was super gentle with the way that she did my make up and made sure that everything was perfect before she would carry onto the next step. Such an upsetting, discouraging visit. I went for a mani/pedi, which I was so excited for and left feeling beyond disappointed. First, my manicure paint job turned out looking smudged or bubbly on top due to the fast drying spray she used, which we noticed while she started on my pedicure. She apologized and re-painted my nails after my pedicure, so I thought I was good to go and appreciated she fixed the issue. However, as my toes dried and my nails dried again, they still have the smudged, bubbly look due to the quick dry spray she was using, which I've never had happen in my 10+ years of getting my nails done professionally. My nails and toes looked so bad I had to take the polish off and this entire process was a waste of my time and extra money I don't typically have for these services right now. Buyer beware... horrible service and price gouging at its worst.. braids by Kia were not as posted on her fb page Mediocre at best subpar for sure was total service would be 200 for kids are you crazy. These weren't adult braids nor small size 21 braids in total. Kids under 12 box braids usually run 85-100 most not 200 when you come already washed, conditioned and blowed out. Wtf is this business thinking quality of braids you can find in a mobile service that comes to you for$55-100 saving you time and money and yes people service didn't include braiding hair- paid extra myself for that. Do not patronize this business unless you are well informed and be very specific about service needed what's expected/ included and upfront pricing here and good luck also toilets didn't flush so go to the bathroom before your visit too!!!!! Had a disappointing experience with another local spot with pedicures, so I decided to give Serendipity a try after seeing them on FB. ZERO STARS- this place is an absolute joke! They should not be allowed to call themselves a "spa". Nothing about our experience at this place was relaxing. We walk into the building which is very professional looking and the label to address the "spa" is made out of cut out paper. We got the package with a massage, manicure & pedicure. We walk in this long white hallway that felt like a mental hospital or something. We finally find the office & there are four ladies sitting there, they take us to this room that was almost relaxing but then you realize the mirror is a two-way mirror. Which we should left after we seen that, but we didn't because we were thinking it'll get better hopefully. This place has no decorations, white walls, and the flooring looks like a 5-year-old put it down in the mani pedi room. I booked an hour long facial and eyebrow wax got maybe 3035 minutes and was told I was done went to the counter to pay. They told me it was $75. I told him I don't think that's right I wasn't in there for a full hour he acknowledged that I was out early and I should've been in there longer he called the owner. The owner sounds super sweet on the phone from what I could hear, they told me I could rebook with another person and I'll be taken care of and the service was free of charge for the experience. I give five stars for the person at the desk and owner on the phone but the facial experience itself was a 2 , most spas put a headband around your head , so you don't get product in your hair she didn't I walked out with my hair being so greasy I had to rewash it after I just washed it before I left the house not only that but I had product from a mask she had put on that dropped behind my next and ears . When I left my face just felt oily like the product wasn't even rubbed in properly just caked on and was good to go , Also I was never put down for my eyebrow wax :(. The woman massaging me was texting on her phone with one hand and poorly massaging me with the other. My gf was happy with her massage therapist. Nice clean spa, did a mani, pedi combo. Dont like to critique after one visit. Pedicure was ok, manicure was just ok, I notice they really take their time, almost like they are really concentrating. To be clear, I don't live in the area. I had my nails done on a Wednesday afternoon and was unhappy with the service when I left the salon. I had a job interview the following day and only made a pit stop after arriving at the CRW airport. My nails are all jacked up today. It's only Saturday. In fact the day after my service - one nail was missing half the polish. I desperately wish I had enough time to squeeze in a nail service at my local spa. I needed dip removed from my nails. The nail tech had me soak my nails in a bowl of acetone - really terrible for your hands. In between that she filed the crap out of them. She didn't seal the tips of my nails with the gel polish. So the color popped off easy. Since I've had the dip powder for years - I know all that is required is a simple soak off. My nails look terrible. Can't recommend this spa...It is kind of dirty, poorly furnished, and the front desk staff are not terribly nice. I got a full set of gel nails and they all came off or could be peeled off within one week. When I called and asked if this is normal the front desk girl kind of atributed it to me for putting my hands in water?! On the upside my nail tech was very nice but she seemed inexperienced. I used to go here when it was Spa Bliss and the experience was so much more pleasant. Luckily I had a gift certificate so I wasn't out any money for the nails, but I chose to not go back and let them fix them because honestly 1) I'd rather not have more of their nails and 2) I don't want to go back there again :( read more

I was looking forward to my first experience at Serendipity Spa & Salon. I typically go to a different spa downtown, but thought I should try this one out. My experience was far from satisfying. I called and made an appointment the day before my visit for a lash tint. The lady on the phone was extremely nice and helpful. When I arrived, I did not have the same experience. I waited in a waiting area where I couldn't help but notice the chairs were dirty. After 15 minutes of waiting and no apology for it, the lash artist pops out and says "lash tint?" I said yes and she just left. I got up and quickly followed her. She did not introduced herself nor ask me for my name. She did not have a mask nor did she ask me if I was comfortable with the fact that she was not wearing a mask. I had one on per the governor's order. She asked me to lay on the bed. She did the tint which was average in my opinion, but no complaints really there. When we finished she did not show me a mirror or ask me how I liked it or anything. She told me I was all set. I stumbled out of the room not sure which way to go. She was quickly behind me about to get out the door. I guess I infringed on her lunch time. I gave her a tip, but felt a little pressured to do so because she was standing right there, texting. All in all, I will not go back. I was considering going to them the next time I get lash extensions, but I will continue to support other local spas who are respectful, helpful, and polite. read more

While I was getting my massage my mom was getting her facial and this little girl (Did not catch her name)did such a good job on her facial her skin looked so bright and smooth. I was really looking forward to mine. After my massage it was time for my facial. The same girl unfortunately did not do mine. I was left waiting for atleast 20 mins for her to come down, it was suppose to be a 30 min facial it was a quick 15 instead plus she had long acrylics that would sporadically get all over my lips or in my nostrils, not stellar. So that was disappointing but Our massages were legit the highlight. If they would've worn masks that would've been an added bonus but overall we will return. The price was really great. read more

I had no idea my lashes could look so good and I've tried many expensive mascara's over the years. From the moment I walked in it was welcoming and inviting. Karen was so nice and worked around my schedule to get me in quickly. Cassie was amazing and made me feel relaxed, she was even open to talking about her school and classes as I am new to this and didn't realize that a lash tech was a separate specialty. Got a perm here on 11/8/2018. Worst service ever! She took out the curlers, rinsed my hair and then put a huge handful of mousse on my hair. She put me under the dryer, said it was to set the curl, I never saw her again. A kid, yes I mean a young child about 10 years old came and told me to go out front-I thought she was moving me to another chair to cut/trim my hair-but no, it was to pay and leave. I left in tears. My hair looked so bad I would not stop at the grocery store. When I got home my 12 yr old asked me what happened to my head...She said it looked like a dog had licked the back of it. I went here for the first time yesterday and had an appointment scheduled for 1:30. I got there at about 1:25 and was told to sit in the waiting area. I sat for 40 minutes and then got up and walked to the front desk and asked if they forgot about me, she told me to go back and wait that it would be a little longer. I ended up not getting sat down in the chair to get my hair done until 3:07. I showed the stylist what I wanted and I brought in the extensions that I wanted my hair to match which were a very light blonde. She said that wouldn't be a problem and she could get my hair to match them just fine. When she finally finished hours later and she showed me my hair in the mirror I had to hold in tears because my hair was the exact same brown color it was when i came in, now accompanied by some blonde highlights at the ends. I held up the extensions and asked if my hair would lighten or something because I was so confused how she thought that was a good job? She said "well it might". I paid $150 and left crying before I even got to my car. As soon as I got up this morning I made an appointment at a different salon to get my hair dyed blonde like how I wanted in the first place. I'll never go back there again. Not to be petty but this place does not seem sanitary by any means and the decor is dated and looks like it was put together in the dark. And Ive been to plenty of spas and salons around surrounding states and this one right here is just a building of disappointment!! :( To start off- the building inside is very outdated. Seating and couches are on their last leg. They're rooms are disgusting. There's a vile smell of death (literally) in the hallway walking into the salon. I honestly don't think that there is one person in there that looks or acts professional. Everyone gets to dress in whatever clothing they want to, (mostly raggedy) and there is no sense of communication with anyone in there. I don't even think any of the girls are over 20 years old (maybe 1). Not saying it's bad for people just starting out to work somewhere, but they could try to get someone with a little more experience in professionalism in there. As a person with thick, curly hair, it's sometimes hard finding (and trusting) someone to cut my hair. I was getting desperate for a haircut and needed to get in somewhere fast. I was already planning a trip to Charleston and stumbled across Serendipity's website. They offer the ability to book appointments online and I was thrilled to see they had an opening the next day that would work for me. Karen knew just what to do to refresh my curls. She gave me a great cut with subtle layers without taking off too much of the length, which is exactly what I asked for. She also waxed my brows and made them look better than they have in years! I'm already looking forward to my next trip for a facial and sugaring, as their prices are affordable and I was impressed with the service I received.
