Fortunately, calmer and more intelligent heads prevailed and I was given a reference to Dr. Michael Harris. That was probably one of the more fortunate things to have happened in my recent life. From the moment I walked into his office I was greeted by friendly, kind and professional staff who put me at rest immediately. They helped me through the paperwork process and ushered me into the exam room with just a short wait. Their scheduling was impeccable. The dental technician who took care of the preliminary X-ray process on an incredibly modern machine was wonderful. The office is thoroughly modern which I found comforting. From the moment I met Dr. Harris I knew that my many years of fears was totally ridiculous. He calmly and thoroughly explained the procedure by which he was going to extract my two teeth and assured me that he would keep the pain to a very minimum. He certainly was a man of his word. First off a state of the art 360 x-ray, the surgeon jumping in to answer a question I needed to proceed but before the consultation. My consultation was incredible thorough. I learned so much, was privy to a giant view of my x rays and answers to questions- and I felt very very confident that the surgeon and staff truly have my best interest at heart. There was no pressure at all, just concern, and I felt very heard. If I proceed with the oral surgery, this will be where I go for it 100% no question. But it didn't end there! I was taken to a small room equally decked out with decor _and_ the other side of the waiting room fish tank, and a very kind person sat down and went over all the costs with me line by line. This was an incredibly thorough explanation- and I feel so grateful to know that going into this I am in not only in the best hands teeth wise but also with regard to my finances. It took another 5 years for me to admit I needed them out and I decided to go to Dr Feinerman after hearing for years how great he is. 1. Hes seriously awesome. All my fears were totally squashed after meeting him. Seriously I was convinced I was going to go permanently numb and lose all feeling and taste in my mouth. That didnt happen and the milkshake I just devoured was glorious. Granted I'm still numb so spilling milkshake all over myself definitely happened. I'm not even bleeding. Which is good (see point 3). 2. He told me exactly what he was going to do and what would happen. All of his prognosis was good. Mind you I'm still numb and on painkillers but I can still Yelp like a pro, so it couldn't be that bad. He also listened to EVERYTHING I said from my concerns to where my veins were so that the IV didnt kill me. 3. I woke up and started laughing because I almost dry heaved due to the gauze. Than I couldn't stop laughing. These drugs are great. No pain and constant entertainment. I legit cant tell you what's funny, but I can tell you the experience is fun. 4. I was seriously worried about being Chip and Dale's long lost sister. NO SWELLING so far. And no excruciating pain. All of my fears were literally for no reason I should have listened to my dad (if you know him, dont tell me him I said this as he will hold it over my head for the rest of my natural life during this I told you so moment).
