The staff became our family as we all spent alot of time there during mom's illness especially. The staff in nursing, housekeeping, nutrition and rehab were so gracious and loving to our mom and to us. It was difficult to adjust after mom's passing and Jen the social worker offered her suggestions regarding dealing with our grief. After having a very difficult respite experience at another facility last year, I was extremely nervous about trying again. As a caregiver, leaving someone you love in the care of others is not easy. From the moment we walked into Putnam Ridge, I felt a difference. We were warmly welcomed, the facility was clean and smelled clean, the residents were well cared for, and everyone we encountered was friendly and spoke to us. I talked to my mom almost every day while I was away, and hearing how strong and comfortable she sounded gave me a sense of peace I did not have last year. For the first time, I was actually able to relax on vacation knowing my mom was safe and being cared for. To the staff of the Apple Memory Care Unit, thank you for caring for my mom and for giving this caregiver something just as valuable: PEACE OF MIND.
