The staff…read moreat Hancock Hall was incredibly loving, caring and seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs and working with elderly patients. They kept in excellent contact with our family throughout her stay, and my mother was very content there. The facility itself was always clean (no typical institutional smell) and they stayed on top of medications, kept her engaged with activities, and closely monitored and assisted with her food. Aside from that, during Covid, the steps they took and the frequent communication with families was exemplary. We could not have asked for more for our mother. We did not tour the building, but what we saw of the facility and staff was reassuring. Protocols were clear; PPEs were provided and hand sanitizer was just steps away from every location. The rooms were bright and cheerful and the all areas that we saw were tidy and smelled clean. Our relative's room and bed were fresh looking and it appeared that good care was being taken.

This was a very difficult decision as it was going to separate my mother from her husband. However, as I would soon learn, it became the very best choice I could have made. From my initial conversations with the Admissions Nurse Daneen, my mind was put at ease by her expertise, her overwhelming compassion and complete sense of caring about all aspects of the move. Soon after the move, I met Danielle, the head nurse of the wing where my mother was placed, and found the exact same wonderful and comforting set of values in her (I am able to talk with Danielle daily to get updates on my mother's condition). This was followed by the rest of the staff, who, again, continue to impress me in every way. Then the word of the Corona Virus made the news. Ridge Crest under the direction of Kim Held, the Director of Nursing, took decisive and immediate action and locked down the facility to all visitors. This was far in advance of other nursing facilities,and has played a pivotal role in keeping the facility safe. This meant my mother's husband and I would no longer be able to visit her. However, once again, the Ridge Crest team stepped up. They understood the social and emotional toll this would take on their residents and their loved ones. Through the staff's loving and compassionate ways they put the residents at ease, as well as their family and loved ones. I am able to be in regular contact with the nursing staff by phone, my mother via FaceTime (set up by the staff). I cannot imagine a better, safer, more professional and loving place to have placed my mother. Ridge Crest is simply an outstanding facility.

The senior administrator, Mariolla. was so helpful to our family during my mom's stay at Brandywine as well as when I had to clean out the apartment due to my mother's passing. filthy. neglectful. they lied to my face about the care my mother received. i had to demand her…read morerelease after just 72 hours due to lack of care, failure to administer medications, theft of clothing, and we both became violently ill with rotavirus within 48 hours. the administration is all about maximizing profit by cutting services/staff, and the filthy conditions are proof of that. they broke state law by charging me for her medical records even though they were being used to support her medicaid application, and made me pack up my bedridden mother and drive 30 miles to retrieve them, even when i requested repeatedly to have them mailed, which, by law, i am entitled to. furthermore, not only did they charge me $.75/ page, they charged me for dozens of duplicate pages, but after reviewing their version of the records, and comparing them to my own photos, notes, and time-stamped emails, i found fraudulent claims/entries, fabrications of care, and outright lies within the records. i allege the administrator, kate costello, directed staff to do so, and i will gladly testify to this assertion under oath in court...a place they've persistently threatened me with as a result of my refusal to pay their "services rendered" invoice. i've contacted county, state, and federal representatives as a result of our terrible experience in this hellhole, and now a regional media outlet has agreed to embark on a long term investigation into hudson valley rehabilitation as a result of our story. stay tuned, and keep your loved ones as far away from this place as possible.
