I used to love this place but something changed. Either the management or staffing, but this place is awful now. You can't make an appointment to save your life. You sign on to their website make an appointment online, and they don't ever call you. You call to make an appointment and you will be on hold for at least 10 mins if not longer. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The Front desk lady that goes by the name of "MJ". I think that's what I heard her office manager call her. I saw her yelling at one of their service partners just for doing his job. After hearing and seeing that. I immediately left the office. The office staff here is absolutely awful. They are polite and treat customers well in person, however, the follow up is terrible. The office manager is never there when you call and the staff can never seem to answer a question without her. They promise to call back and never call back. This has happened every single time I have reached out to them. The dentist should probably audit their accounts because their billing is questionable. While researching one issue (once I finally got ahold of the manager) I was told that I had a balance almost a year old. I asked if they ever sent a bill and they told me no, but I should have known from my insurances explanation of benefits. So you don't send a bill, but expect your customers to pay it?? Abscess. Dr. Bui did not provide the minimum standard of care. She refused to prescribe pain medication for a broken tooth. Only after much insistence did she finally agree to prescribe an antibiotic. The antibiotic did not clear the infection totally. She then further refused to refill or change the antibiotic to an effective medication or dosage. Abandonment of care during the holiday season. Her chair-side manner is completely lacking as is her empathy. Do not recommend. read more

After being a patient here for 5 years, I am sad to say that the care of the staff and dentists has gone down hill. They are no longer caring and kind. They completely abandoned me when I needed immediate care for an infection. They referred me to a horrible periodontist who was extremely rough and painful and then they refused to see me when the periodontist was out of the office and I was in excruciating pain and my mouth was so swollen and infected despite being told by the periodontist to go back to them when he was out of office for a week. I am so deeply disappointed and saddened by their lack of compassion for their patients. We seem to be just a paycheck now and no longer people. read more

I have no complaints about my dentist! He did all my treatment in one day and did a great job! Only thing I will say is the staff that works front desk during the week, specifically one person, was beyond rude. I've worked as a dental assistant/front desk for over 10 years. Her fellow front desk would ask questions and she just seemed to be so bothered and annoyed. She then went to break down why my payment went up, with words, rather than a physical print out to exactly show the differences, until I asked for it. Even when I asked she seemed like it was an issue. I usually go on weekends so I don't usually see her, but I am sorry to say, if you don't like what you do simply look for another job that you won't seem so annoyed at. Let me start out by saying BEST. DENTAL. OFFICE. EVER!!! My love for this dentist office started with a broken tooth. I had been going to another dentist begrudgingly (check my reviews) but when my tooth broke, I needed to be seen ASAP. The other office was on vacation for a week and suggested I just find another of their offices to go to. I started calling around to see who could see me quickly and got several more "vacation" stories (?). Serenity was at least my 4th call. She told me to come in immediately . I couldn't be there until 5pm, but that wasn't a problem. A treatment plan was determined. They coordinated with my and my husbands dental plans to help me pay the least out of pocket. They're open on weekends so I don't have to miss work. Better yet, they really care about dental health, not just making a quick dollar. The customer service can't be beat! read more

Dr. Chang promised a painless experience and he delivered. I have tons of dental anxiety and a low pain tolerance and I always expect the worst. They took care of me big time - I didn't feel anything except right at the end, and as soon as I told him, he made me numb again right away. The procedure was quick, though I did have to wait a little while for the nitrous tank to be free. Not a big deal to me but thought I should mention it. Literally perfect experience. Staff is great, the office is clean and modern, no issues whatsoever. I'm already considering doing future work here. read more

Needed an appointment within a couple days due to a painful tooth. Dr Johnson Cheng and the staff were wonderful. I got an appointment the next day although one was actually available the same day. I have a major phobia when it comes to going to the dentist. I explained this to the hygienist and Doctor Cheng. They administered nitric oxide (laughing gas) prior to the Novocain. I felt nothing. I had a cavity filled and a lower back tooth extracted in what felt like only a couple minutes. Before I knew it, it was done. This was my toddlers first visit to the dentist and the woman who cleaned my daughters teeth let her feel, see and explained what the tools would do before she put them in her mouth. I appreciated that they were sensitive with her age. She had small cavities and the dentist was very thorough with explaining the process before filling them. Executing the process, all who assisted with a squirming toddler expressed patience, as well as getting the job done without any other complications. Avoid this practice! I have been treated horribly for over 2 years. The location is very convenient for us and the first time we visited we were very happy with one of the dentists. This dentist is not longer practicing in this location and everything else has been a nightmare. The front office is unprofessional and disrespectful. Their billing is taking advantage of insurance benefits (we have one of the best insurances). When I denied to get a deep cleaning (they charge for this service and I have not seen any benefits at all compared to regular cleaning) ... they booked an appointment, did all the X-rays and everything they could charge out of insurance plan but not the actual cleaning. This happened 2 times and another time they called and canceled 15 min before the appointment. I had to claim sick hours out of my work 3 times, without getting a cleaning done. I tried to book an appointment for over a year, and they always presented some lies and excuses. Completely unethical in their communication and practice. Also my 10 y.o had a filling done in this office and it was not done properly, it needs to be re-done. The lies, the overcharges, the bad communication, the problematic appointment scheduling and the declined quality of care ... I highly recommend to avoid this practice... worst experience I have ever had. read more

Could not be more pleased with the staff here! We have a son with anxiety and the staff was especially understanding and eased his fears. My first time coming here was for my daughter's first dental appointment and it went great! The staff is amazing and very helpful and the dentist was so sweet with my daughter even though she put up a small fight for her cleaning! Lol. The environment is very well taken care of and neat. I was a bit skeptic because they have multiple locations and it seems those places usually leave something to be desired but not Serenity Dental. All the positive reviews I saw convinced me to give them a try and now I know for myself these good reviews are well earned. I have several visits (and work done) at the Louetta location and an emergency visit to Katy location and all experiences have been absolutely first rate. Nothing but cleanings and general fillings. My 25 yr old son has been in pain everyday for going on 4 weeks from Dr. Escobar. At first everything was peachy. But I had to have my bridge replaced and the entire process was a nightmare. It took over 3 months for this process. I even had to go back and redo xrays because they were threatening to charge me because the insurance company wanted additional xrays and I had to go that day. Mind you I work by NRG. Let me not forget that I needed an athletic mouth guard and the one they made didn't even cover all my teeth just half which left my roots and gums exposed. The next one they made was paper thin, but wanted to debate with me about it being legit. So I ended up going to impactmouthguards.com. Then, the bottom of the bridge is gritty and uncomfortable but I was told it'll go away. A year later still gritty and uncomfortable constant inflammation on my gums. This expense was $2,700 which had to be paid upfront. But once they got their money they didn't care. The only good experience was the zoom whitening, even though it only lasted a month. read more
