Unfortunately, the office failed to verify my insurance coverage prior to my appointment and did not provide any information regarding my benefits or potential out-of-pocket costs during check-in. ​When I raised these concerns, I was informed that the provider does not allow insurance to dictate their treatment plans. While I respect a provider's clinical autonomy, I believe it is the office's responsibility to communicate clearly when services may not be covered so that patients can make informed financial decisions. ​Because of this lack of transparency, I was faced with unexpected out-of-pocket expenses despite having active insurance. I value clear communication and professional billing practices, both of which were missing during my visit. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously to improve their patient coordination in the future. I will not be returning after almost 4 years of attending this dentistry practice.

I arrived for what I believed was my scheduled appointment to begin preparation for two dental crowns. Approximately five minutes before I arrived, I received a phone call informing me that Dr. Joshua George would not be able to see me because I needed additional dental work before the crowns could be completed. This was confusing because, during my previous appointment, I understood that no additional treatment was needed before moving forward with the crowns. When I arrived, I asked both the front desk staff and Dr. Joshua George why I had not been informed sooner if my treatment plan had changed. I also asked why I was only being notified minutes before my appointment. I was seeking an explanation because the information I received today was inconsistent with what I had previously been told. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, Dr. Joshua George began speaking over me and raising his voice while I was trying to understand the situation. As I continued asking questions, he stood over me, continued yelling, and told me that I needed to leave immediately or I would be considered trespassing. I have video footage showing part of this interaction, including him leaving the area and returning to continue speaking to me. During the incident, a member of the front desk staff remained with me, attempted to help me, and reassured me that I was not wrong for asking questions about my treatment. I appreciated her professionalism during a very uncomfortable situation. As a patient, I believe I had the right to ask for clarification about changes to my treatment plan without being yelled at or threatened with trespassing. The interaction left me feeling intimidated, uncomfortable, and unsafe. Because of this experience, I informed the office that I no longer wished to receive treatment at that location.

She worked me in between her scheduled patients, and I was so grateful to have my crown prepped the same day. Roy, the dental assistant, was fantastic--professional, down-to-earth, and attentive to my comfort throughout the entire visit. Overall, the experience was excellent. When I first came to Echeverri Dental Center, I had many concerns. I had already seen three different dentists who did not feel comfortable performing Daniel's dental treatment under anesthesia in their own clinics and recommended that Daniel have the procedure done under general anesthesia in a hospital setting. That recommendation led me to Dr. Saba. From the very beginning, Dr. Saba made me feel confident and comfortable. He met with me twice before the procedure, took the time to answer all of my questions, explained everything, and gave me the reassurance I needed to know that Daniel was in the right hands. Daniel had his dental surgery at Texas Children's Hospital on May 13th, and everything went successfully. Before the surgery, during the procedure, and throughout his recovery, Dr. Saba continued to provide support, reassurance, and excellent care. As a mother, the most important thing is knowing your child is safe, and Dr. Saba truly gave me that peace of mind. I also want to give a special thank you to Alicia for all the amazing work she did behind the scenes coordinating everything with Texas Children's Hospital and making sure the entire process went smoothly. I cannot emphasize how strongly I advise against seeking dental care at Echeveri Dental.  My…read morehusband went in to get a chipped tooth fixed and ended up with a botched root can and swollen face.   Complications: My husband had to deal with a painful infection with swelling, all due to the incompetence displayed by the attending dentist who advised him that this sort of 'swelling' was normal.  It was not! Misleading Consultation: Despite my husbands limited English proficiency, he was coerced by the dentist that he needed a root canal, presenting it as a 'normal and simple" procedure.  Poor Execution: The dentist failed to properly perform the root canal, leaving metal remnants in my husband's gums which led to serious complications.  Financial Burden: Correcting this mistake has already cost us $3000 to have the root canal retreated by a competent medical professional, and the medical ordeal is far from over

I had a very disappointing experience at this dental office and feel it's important to share what…read morehappened. I scheduled a routine dental exam and cleaning, yet my visit lasted nearly two hours. After the exam, I was told I needed what they called "special scaling in the presence of generalized moderate tartar," which would cost $229 out of pocket, on top of what my insurance already covers. I visit the dentist 2-3 times a year and have never once been told I needed a "special" cleaning. When I declined this additional charge, they ended my visit immediately and did not offer a basic cleaning at all. I was told this was due to "dental ethics," which made no sense considering I had scheduled and waited specifically for a cleaning. Because I was frustrated and confused, I asked to speak with the office manager. Suddenly, the same "special cleaning" was offered for $67, which only raised more concerns. To make matters worse, this "special cleaning" turned out to be exactly like every standard cleaning I've ever received. This entire experience felt pressure-driven and financially motivated, not patient-focused. I left feeling misled and taken advantage of. I strongly encourage others to ask detailed questions, request clear explanations, and consider a second opinion before agreeing to any out-of-pocket charges. Please beware.
