When I was living on Galveston Island fulltime, I went to this clinic for Botox, fillers, etc. Dr. Thompson was terrific. Yesterday, I had Botox and lip filler from a clinic in The Woodlands. My lips are uneven and one side is black and blue. Dr. Thompson's work never did this to me. I guess I'll be driving two hours to Galveston Island for my Botox and filler appointments from now on. I visited Dr. Thompson in late July. I called in and made an appointment to see Dr. Thompson. I did not make a medical appointment specifically nor did I make a cosmetic appointment specifically. I simply made an appointment to have a spot on my face looked at and try to figure out how to get rid of it. Dr. Thompsons website is EXTREMELY Deceptive! She states medical dermatology as well as skin cancer and she shows to be a medical Dr. so you'd think she'd know what she's looking at or at least have it biopsied before going forward with any other treatments. Well, she didn't... she walked in and first thing she did was take out a magnifying glass, took a look at my spot (that to me states medical exam) and then stated it's nothing! She recommended I get a chemical peel; even said it should just peel right off and what doesn't she'd have me back and microdermabrasion would take care of the rest!!!! Well, it didn't peel right off and I'd never had a chemical peel and it wasn't pleasant at all! The spot got worse quick, it got darker, raised and started to itch! I decided to go get a facial at the medispa I regular and I told her about my experience and she recommended I go to a specialist and gave me the name and number of one. She also told me that Dr. Thompson is not a licensed Dermatogist nor is she board certified and then she told me what to look for next time so I'd know that! It took me almost two months to get into see the specialist but after looking at the spot they told me they needed to biopsy it before deciding which path to take. I had to wait several days for the results but when they called me I was unbelievably ANGRY at Dr. Thompson when it was diagnosed as MELANOMA!!!!! Yes, it was melanoma before Dr. Thompson saw me but she should've known even if she's not a licensed dermatologist because she is a medical Dr.!!! She didn't take it serious and I lived with the spot 4 more months allowing it to grow deeper. The surgeon had to cut into my cheek, I had to wait and hour on testing and then if not cleared he had to cut again and I had to wait again on the testing and this took multiple times, over six hours to be exact! I'll never ever recommend Dr. Thompson and I hope that she will take situations like this differently in the future!! read more

What a great dermatology office right on Broadway! I stopped in after a long conversation with Dr. Thompson about my options for permanent hair removal. She explained what the office could provide and assured me that Mikalya, Serenity's Laser Technician would guide me through the process. Not having explored laser services or other dermatological offerings before, I was excited and a little nervous. There was no need though because as soon as I arrived Dr. Thompson greeted me with warm professionalism. The space is clean and bright with a calm ambiance. While the office is serene, the procedure was all business, just as one would expect during a medical procedure. After filling out a bit of paperwork I was taken back to the treatment space, given good instructions on the process and even a "test run" so I'd know what to expect once the laser started. The whole thing took about 15 minutes from start to finish! I pre booked for 3 weeks and received after care instructions. So far the painless process has left me excited for more and I'm already looking forward to further visits at Serenity! Update! I've had several services done at Serenity since I first visited for hair removal. The skin care expertise here is of the highest caliber and prices are fair for such extraordinary services. I've struggled with acne and hyper pigmentation since my early 20's. The procedures provided by Dr. Thompson have given me new confidence. Clearer, more balanced skin has emerged after every treatment and the products for continued and post-procedural care are magnificent!
