I was able to say goodbye before that process happened. The owners (Betsy & Christopher Burch) were kind and explained how things would unfold. They took care of the death certificate and helped guide us while we were obviously not at our best. I didn't use funeral services or purchase an urn. I bought an urn somewhere else. There was a variety of urns. There were small urns that you could purchase if other family members wanted some of the ashes. I appreciated the compassion and warmth that was shown to us. My loved one was treated with dignity and respect.

BM funeral home however was a disgrace. They 'forgot' to send the flowers to his service in Amelia and tried to argue about taking them to the grave and whines about travel time and gas. Most abhorrent, the sheet holding my husbands remains peeked out of his casket. Absolutely disgusting and incompetent people running this place. GO ANYWHERE ELSE IF YOU WANT TO ENSURE YOUR LOVED ONES HAVE A PROPER AND DIGNIFIED BURIAL. My husband Joshua was a 100% disabled vet and we had a 5k burial allowance and his headstone was paid for. Originally, the…read moreChristiansburg Cemetery Company purchased Sunset Cemetery from Dr. Joseph Edie in 1891 as a for-profit company and the stockholders were paid with a free grave plot. In 1914, the Christiansburg Cemetery Company dissolved to become the nonprofit Christiansburg Cemetery Corporation. The Corporation was governed by a board of trustees, handed down from trustee to trustee. And in March 2008, the Town of Christiansburg took ownership of the cemetery. Perhaps the most notorious resident buried at Sunset is Virginia Wardlaw, one of the murderous "Black Sisters." Wardlaw was accused in 1910 of murdering relatives for insurance money. Wardlaw is buried in an unmarked grave. Many Confederate soldiers are buried here and there is a separate section for veterans. The cemetery is in excellent condition with short grass and smooth north-south and east-west lanes. It is open to the public and the records of those buried here can be researched through the Town. I cannot believe Stihl authorizes these people to service their equipment. Maybe Stihl does not…read moreknow how they treat people and their equipment. Well, they will very soon. My mother-in-law took her Stihl blower in to have the primer bulb replaced. That was all it needed. That was all she wanted done. What they did to her blower was criminal. Not only did they not replace the primer bulb as she had ask, they broke the throttle lever off the carburetor when they dis-assembled it. Why they dis-assembled her blower to replace an easily accessible primer bulb is beyond any conceivable explanation or understanding. When she went in to pick up her blower after being told it was ready, she was handed a bag of parts, and a bill for fifty some dollars. They had the nerve to tell her (after they broke the carburetor) it needed a new carburetor, and it was going to cost as much to repair the blower as it would be to purchase a new one. Then they charged her fifty some dollars for their "fine" service. All it needed was a primer bulb! You can see in the attached photo the condition in which they returned her blower. If legible, the broken throttle lever pieces are circled in the photo. Unbelievable!!! Had this happened to me, these people would be in court making reparations for the damage they caused. This is truly criminal taking advantage of a person in this manner. If I heard one day someone burned them out, I just might have to smile.
