I was here recently for a pedicure. The spa and amenities are nice. The pedicure was ok, but maybe…read morenot exactly what I would want from a spa environment. Bright lights, and the music is louder than I would prefer, but it may not bother others. The nail tech was nice but they should let the customers decide if they want to talk or not and let them lead. People go to a spa to relax, not to be quizzed about their life. Customers will feel pressured to talk, as not to seem unfriendly. Leave people be unless it seems like they are feeling chatty. I had also requested no scents and no music if possible, and they did not even mention it, definitely used scented prodcuts. If they could not accommodate, that is fine, but what is the purpose of the notes if no one pays attention to it? The pedicure itself was mostly good except that body scrub should not be used on dry skin because it is painful. And even though I am a good tipper, I agree with what someone else said about the auto-gratuity. For what they charge, it should not be necessary for them to pay their staff well all on their own. Overall, just ok.

But thank God I found the Walk-In Salon..... I am beyond impressed....and here's why: 1) I was able to schedule online with openings as early as the next day, selecting my preferred hairdresser or choosing any available.... I chose any available because I had never been there before and thus, had no preference. I also scheduled 2 days out from when I was actually making the appointment because I wanted the security of knowing I had my most recent paycheck in my account. I scheduled for 9am on Thursday, March 4th. I arrived and was told I'd have Nakia. (Don't know how to spell her name...sorry if it's incorrect!) 2) The man who greeted me, and Nakia were both very polite, COVID-conscious (I believe I have the power to keep myself well from COVID, as I understand that it's my personal thoughts and emotions that literally result in whether I'm in a state of illness or wellbeing {free will is the ultimate human right, is it not?}; however, I realize others are living within a completely different paradigm and I respect that...), they were also very helpful. 3) After explaining what I had previously had done with my hair and how I wanted it corrected, then personalized to my original image, Nakia was very honest with me about the realities of what I should be expecting within 1 hair appointment. (A Groupon deal ended up leaving me with a spotty yellow bowl cut.....) 4) She began by correcting the color....which I had no idea would take 2.5 hours just in itself....running me out of time before work to get anything else done with my hair. Nakia, however, was absolutely more than willing to do whatever was necessary to reach the color I wanted...without being concerned about how long it was taking. And she did JUST that.... I am a platinum blonde now and my color is even. Amazing! 5) With having to leave for work, I still needed a haircut so Nakia scheduled me again for the very NEXT morning, and was able to get me in at 9, 10, or 11.... so I chose 9. I woke up nearly half hour late this morning, and was about 15 minutes late to the appointment....but I called and told her what was going on, and she was very accommodating. 6) The actual cut - Nakia had remembered basically what I had explained the day before about what I wanted, and repeated it back to me to confirm.... she was NOT afraid to ask questions to clarify what I had really intended, and to be sure she understood (everyone says the same thing just a little differently, so I DEEPLY appreciated this about her...). The haircut is honestly probably the best one I have ever gotten - and DEFINITELY the best one I have ever gotten from a hairdresser I had never been to before! All in all, I am SUPER impressed with my experience and I am GRATEFUL beyond words for Nakia's skills, experience, understanding, and willingness to accommodate. For everything she did, it cost me $115 plus the tip.... VERY REASONABLE! I am completely dedicated to this salon now! Thank you, thank you!

But I have never had a better haircut than the one given to me by Beau. Hands down. Beau is an artist. Literally. He does sculpture at the nearby fire arts gallery and regularly has showings of his work. He sells his pottery in the salon if you are interested. His artistic eye do wonders for your hair. I can't explain why, but he is the only person that I have ever gone to that seems to get my hair. I hate coming out of most salons, but Beau gives me a look that just WORKS. Beau is old school. He trained in hair as salons were moving away from once a week wash and set visits to scissors cuts which relied more on craftsmanship. He knows all the styles and has watched them come and go. He knows his very knowledgeable about cutting, color and styling. Three of the most stylish women at my work go to Beau - and they all have very unique hair - both short and long, blonde and brunette. I just can't say enough good things about Beau. He simply does an excellent job.
