Similar to the Seattle Mudbay, The store is absolutely adorable and packed with everything a pet parent could want. They have leashes, collars, toys, high-quality pet food, and a great selection of fresh and locally sourced options. You can immediately tell this place is thoughtfully curated rather than just stocked with generic big-box items. The highlight for me was finding a leash for my corgi that I've been hunting for online for months that had been discontinued everywhere else. Somehow they had it, and it felt like striking gold. Shops like this are why I always try to explore local businesses when visiting a new place. This place clearly cares about the quality of the products they carry and the experience they create for pet owners. If you're on Bainbridge Island and have a furry companion at home, this place is absolutely worth a stop.

Paul will come pick up your pup, take her out to play off leash and bring her home tired and happy. The next trip might be to downtown Bainbridge for a civilized walk through Waterfront park and then a nice sit down in front of the bakery where your pup will get lots of sweet talk and love from passers-by. A great thing for a dog who might be on the shy side, and need some socialization. Occasionally, he throws 'em all in his paw-covered truck and takes the boat out to Magnusson park for an all day outing. After many years in the hospitality industry, Paul decided to chuck it all and hang out with his doggie friends for a living. He apprenticed himself to a local Seattle trainer to learn the ins and outs of the professional doggie world. He obviously loves his work, and he loves the dogs. He is dedicated to making your dogs' time with him the highlight of the day or week. Paul's professionalism and love of his work were good news for us, because our Ridgeback/Pit Bull mix, Lola , is fierce with strangers who dare come onto her property. Paul was patient and handled her professionally and sensitively. He took his time getting to know her, and now they are best of friends. Good boy, Paul.

He takes her and his other charges on long (and I do mean long - 3-4 mile) walks to Gazzam Lake or occasionally swimming at Pritchard Park. The dogs get exercised like this 3 or more times a day. He's amazing. When we pick Annie up after a week at Paul's she is trim, happy and exhausted (in a good way). I've been impressed with the respect all the dogs have for Paul. They sit nicely in his truck and walk easily on leash with 4 or more other dog friends. They get to lounge on his multiple couches when not exercising and have access to his large fenced backyard. I knew Annie was in the right hands when Paul arrived at our home to pick Annie up on either our 2nd or 3rd stay w/him, and without any encouragement, Annie ran to his truck and hopped right in. No hesitation.

I found them to be well-stocked with items for my furry kitty friend, both food-wise, but also in all other respects (bowls, toys, scratchers, climbing trees, etc.). Staff was friendly and very helpful with all of the questions we had. This will definitely be my go-to pet store on Bainbridge going forward.

But I have also been taking my younger cat there for weekly adjustments and replacement of a splint on his right rear achilles tendon. So i have gotten to know them very well over 9 months or so, in addition to the previous 17 years I have had them as my vet, before Dr. Barfield took over the clinic from Tom Penn, also a wonderful doctor. Yes, they get busy, they have to manage their flow of people through the office and dogs that bark, etc., and it's a tough job. But when it comes down to it, i would trust any of my beloved pets to them, and know they and i will be treated with skill and kindness.

**Will be moving the shop location in the future**…read more Bainbridge Island Dog Club is at least one of three dog shops that I discovered yesterday along Winslow Ave. while shopping and strolling. They offer grooming at another location. This location is a separate building tucked behind Magnolia and La Mercerie. But, as I was told the shop will be moving, this may change soon. At this location, they have a great selection of dog treats, clothing, leashes, harnesses, poop bags, toys and treats. They also sell owner items: cute hats with their logos, hoodies to match your dog, etc. They even have hilarious greeting cards, even for your petsitter. On the dog and people hoodies: apparently they come in many colors throughout the year and are of very good quality. Several customers have reported back to the shop that they don't pill after being in a washing machine. I had a lovely discussion with the store attendant (I got the vibe she wasn't the owner), and she was so friendly that I came back later in the day to purchase some items. (Despite posted operating hours, I came back after hours at 4:14pm on a Sunday to make this purchase. She joyfully said she tries to keep the shop open for Seattle-based or tourist clientele who are used to longer and later hours. I advise calling if you want to see if they're open past hours.)
