About Face Cabinetry recently completed a kitchen and bath project and I'd like to add my personal…read moreperspective regarding the final outcome. While we did incur some challenges throughout the process, the final product turned out to be quite beautiful in my eyes. The kitchen is now light, bright and elegant, and the new built counter height master bath vanities are great, with lots of new drawers for storage. We did incur some additional delays that also were not of their doing, such as faucets that did not arrive on time or without essential parts. Chris and his team worked patiently through the process to final completion, and did so in a responsive, professional manner; always pleasant to work with. Bottom line, in my view, the value proposition that About Face Cabinetry offers is excellent. I would recommend and would be pleased to hire them again.

My wife's dream kitchen/bath remodel by About Face Cabinetry turned into a nightmare. I would not…read morerecommend them to anyone. Chris only came on site several times during the 1-week project and never really inspected the work. The quality of workmanship on the installation was very substandard. The job included 1) replacement of all kitchen and 3 bathroom counter tops with quartzite stone 2) replacement of all master bath cabinets to 34" height and 3) refacing of all kitchen and master bath cabinets. To begin with the kitchen countertop sections were either measured and/or cut incorrectly and required considerable work to fit. The top section piece was so far off that they had to remove it and cut it down to even the overhang gap all along front of this section. This failed as the variance is still evident. This same section had a chipped edge on the back side, so they simply tried unsuccessfully to grind it out. The intermediate backsplash pieces were cut too high and so when the top section was placed on it and to get it level required spacers for support on the back side because of a ¼" gap. About Face Cabinetry added 2 iron support brackets for only an 8" overhang saying that the stone is so fragile these are required and then simply used white calk to fil the ¼" gap. Several sources for stone support bracket installation requirements provide information showing that support brackets are only required on overhangs greater than 16" not 8". There are 7 cut outs in the intermediate backsplash for electrical outlets so instead of taking these to the shop for proper cut out the sub-contractor Space Granite, LLC used a circular saw on the driveway...yes that's right a circular saw for rectangular cut outs in 30mm stone...to hack out rectangular holes. Needless to say, the saw kerf overcuts in the 4 ¾" high backsplash section in order to cut in 2 ¼"x 4" holes for the electrical outlets severely weakened this section to the point where on the one end the stone broke apart in 2 places. Again, About Face Cabinetry s solution was to patch and glue in these pieces. The saw cut kerfs were so long that they required us to purchase the oversize electrical outlet cover plates in order to cover their shoddy work. They failed to match the intermediate backsplash seam with the lower countertop section seam also. There were gaps at each end of the upper countertop section where it was supposed to meet the walls. These gaps were not even the same width along their length, being ¼" at one end and 3/8" at the other and again the solution was caulk...this time they used white caulk instead of clear like the rest of the places and did not even tool it properly. Finally, they did not cut the backsplash behind the microwave correctly and had to return to cut it after installation on the wall which added unnecessary dust to the house. Now for the cabinet refacing which again shows poor quality work. The glued Formica edge strips are sharp in places and coming unglued. There are seven original wood pieces that they would not cover....approximately 10' x 1/2" of Formica overall. This is a great testament to quality work as you open the doors to show someone, and they see reface vs replace right away. The gaps between cabinet doors are inconsistent and evident. The glued panel below the kitchen sink is still unglued on the left side even after they did their punch list corrections. Please see attached pictures which cannot really capture the detail but will give you an idea of the magnitude of defects. Again, the franchisor Chris was on site day one for a walk thru with the sub-contractors and then we only saw him for an hour or so a day, at which time he did not do any detailed inspections of the work progress. About Face Cabinetry placed a sign on our lawn on day one apparently proud of their work and advertising to our neighbors. Unlike the readers of this post who will have to decide based on my description, and pictures, those seeing the sign will be invited to see for themselves up close About Face Cabinetry work quality.

I was originally very very impressed with him but now I'm just disgusted with a non United States…read more citizen from Russia (no disrespect to anyone Russian I'm 100% Peruvian American born veteran). But this kid ghosted me after promising me he was going to finish the last two things on our job list all to move his "business" there instead. He stopped answering texts/calls and I was confused because we had such a fantastic rep-our and I was going to meet him in Russia for my first Russian tattoo from a proper Russian artist like he has. I wanted to see Russia and get ink from a true Russian artist but that was a lie too I guess. I wouldn't call this company I would find an American owned and operated. Thats what this great company was founded on .

Vitalii is responsive but that's about all I can say that's positive…read more Unfortunately I had a terrible experience using this business. Vitalii came unprepared to complete the job I hired him for and kept telling me it was because I told him I have LVP flooring when he saw with his own eyes it wasn't LVP prior to doing the project when he came to give me a quote. He did half the job I paid him for, and said he would come back to finish the job at a later date. I paid him in full (completely my mistake) and followed up multiple times to schedule a date and time on when to expect him to finish the project. His response was he would have to stop by following the other jobs he was working on at strange times like late in the evening, and was wishy washy and vague on what day he would ever be stopping by again. It's funny because it certainly wasn't that complicated scheduling him to come out to start the job, finishing it is a different story though. He left a mess for me to clean up when he finished half the work he was paid for, including baseboards filled with nails left on the floor of the room he was working in, and unplugging my garage door to use my miter saw and then not plugging it back in or letting anyone know he even unplugged the garage door. It's really a shame because finding a reliable, quality handyman is so difficult. I was hoping that Vitalii being responsive spoke to his integrity and reliability. I was mistaken on that assumption. I would not recommend.
