We found this hidden gem while on our way to Westminster. We saw the sign (and it opened up our eyes) and we decided on a whim to stop by. it was delightful. The outdoors setting is really quite peaceful, and inside is cozy. We started with a flight and then moved to a bottle. They have a wonderful assortment of wines, dry to sweet, and even sangria. The owner was very knowledgeable and helpful. We'll definitely be back!

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 This place was really nice the service was amazing very welcoming, patient and gave recommendations. Ambiance was beautiful we sat infront of the vine yard to taste test out wine. They make fresh pizza it's Delicious . Would go back for sure. It Wasn't a very diverse crowd. And mostly mature crowd as well. But i still had a great time.

A very cute vineyard and tasting room. Good selection of wines to choose from, offering dry, sweet, and dessert wines. The wine labels are so cute! Unfortunately the wines weren't as good as I'd hoped (I was especially disappointed with the Medusa cab), but I would happily return for a glass of the albariño in order to enjoy the winery atmosphere in the summer.

I totally loved this vineyard! The ride out to this property was so peaceful and beautiful! I will say as you approach the driveway to enter the property, there's two, and Waze and Google Maps will send you down Cabernet Road. Don't take that turn, turn into the property using the first driveway that has the signs because, that's the correct way to enter. It was small and quaint! Lauren and Amy were super nice and friendly! Especially, Lauren very helpful with suggestions and providing information about the sweetness of the wine. My favorite was the Serpent's Melody and the frozen Bellini. We sat out on the patio and then table and under the umbrella! It was a perfect afternoon for relaxing and chatting with a beautiful glass of vino!

Love the wine! This is a small vineyard with indoor and outdoor seating. I haven't tried any food, but I've had flights and I've bought several bottles of wine over the past few years. The are open on weekends and sometimes have really cool special events, check their Facebook page. The staff are really friendly and are great at making recommendations based on what you like.

This is a small Maryland winery and it's worth a stop if you're in the area. My wife and I did two different samplers and they were okay but over priced for the small amount of wine you get. I love wine and like to try other varietals I'm not used to but nothing at Serpent Ridge was worth buying a full bottle in my opinion. Tastes vary so you may like what they have. You can get some cheese and crackers to enjoy with your wine while seated outside next to the vines.

Cute little vineyard and tasting room. One of the owners was serving up tastings and he told us all about the wine, the vineyard and how he became one of the owners! It's six tastings and a take home glass for $8, which was a great deal. Bottles were about $24, wine was sold by the glass and they did have a chocolate and wine parings, as well as cheese and crackers for sale. Bottom line-I'd come back for a bottle of wine and to sit out on their porch to look out over the vineyard.

If you're looking for a small and intimate Vinyard to spend a few hours at drinking delicious wine, look no further! Serpent ridge is a hidden gem tucked away in Westminster. Their tasting room area is located in a small cottage type building which is adorably decorated inside. It's definitely set up to be a more intimate setting and you will be able to relax while sipping wine, avoiding any crowds, and chatting with the owners. Their customer service is exceptional and it's very apparent that they love wine and what they do. They have a few tables both inside and outside and about 5-6 each of red and whIte wines to select from. Keep an eye out for their events too! They have sign painting, live music, food trucks, and more. Tips: Do not bring large parties here as it's small, look for the "winery" sign upon making the turn in (it's a little small), parking is super easy.

This place was an unexpected gem. Tucked away up a hill in a neighborhood. Has an air conditioned tasting room, outdoor patio with tables and umbrellas and a covered garden area. Overlooks a vineyard and barn. Very peaceful. Can bring your own nibbles or order there. Wines by the glass or bottle and flights were available as well as a specialty drink. We had the frozen peach Bellinis which were so good. Definitely worth a pop in if in the area. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and vineyard. We enjoyed our visit.

A great and often overlooked winery Serpent Ridge is considerable small then some of the larger Maryland wineries like Black Ankle and Elk Run its close enough to make visit them all on the same trip. Their wines are a cut above most other Maryland wines and with a lot less sweetness then you see in some nearby wines. My personal favorite was the Basilisk a Cab Franc, Cab Sauvignon blend. There staff was knowledgeable and really very friendly. I will definitely be back there soon. If your hitting up a Maryland wine trail this should definitely be on your List.

Diane, the lovely owner is so gracious and sweet and was able to handle the flow of oenophiles quite effortlessly. They have the main tasting room and also an adjacent room that could accommodate a group tasting. Diane did a great job of giving us a detailed description of each wine and I was actually pleasantly surprised! I'm not a huge fan of Md wine but truly enjoyed the wines here. I purchased a bottle of the Estate Red and they had a wonderful sangria made with their Chambourcin which I also purchased. I love supporting local and especially such a great vineyard such as this one that is also a working farm. I would encourage anyone to venture out to this vineyard--but actually put the address in your gps and not just the name, you will end up at someone's home. I assume this family are use to people ending up at their home-they have a sign that has the address of the vineyard on it--thank you mystery family!

We were out somewhat in this direction, and there was a Meetup group going here, so we thought to check it out as it's rare we ever go to a winery as it's normally out of the way, more likely of an occurrence when on a vacation. We took some crazy back roads from where we were in western Howard County, through Carroll, & into eastern Frederick County, where Black Ankle is. We went to the bar inside to get wines. I got a white wine; I think Chardonnay, and I think my girlfriend got a sweeter Rose or something like that. Both were delicious, but we preferred our own more. We sat outside in a nice patio area. We were in the hot Sun on that sunny day, but that was cool with me. We learned of a tour going on, which we got in on. The tour guide who wore an Italian flag bowtie was entertaining and informative. We walked around the vineyard, going inside the cooled storage areas, centrifuge area where the wine is mixed, etc. We even saw some of the old wines they had made from years earlier. We saw sheep dogs, which protect the vineyard from pests, which were cute. Overall, this is a high quality winery with plenty of nice outside & inside seating.
