    Wine Time!
    Rashanda J.

I have never met two of the loveliest people before in my entire life until recently. Heather and Mike, owners of Celebration Cellars, are truly a remarkable team. My friend/coworker and I traveled to Celebration Cellars recently for a nice Girls Day Out Celebration and from the moment we arrived, we were in for a special treat. Both Heather and Mike greeted us and made us feel so welcomed. First by assisting in setting up our tables and recommending how we set-up our food/snacks so that we could enjoy and also capture the great scenic views of the property. So personable right. We were both given wine tasting menus and made our selections after Heather and Mike provided an overview. Each wine we sampled was amazing and sometimes that's rare when visiting a winery. For each pouring both Mike and Heather had a story to share, and it just made you feel right at home. There are so many things that are incredibly awesome about Celebration Cellars. See below: -Heather and Mike (the dynamic duo and most personable individuals that I have ever met. We were so happy to have met them) -Location: The location and property are breathtaking. It makes you want to stay and enjoy a nice long weekend. -Pricing: The pricing for a wine tasting was incredible. The purchase of a bottle of wine was also great. No complaints! It doesn't get any better than the deals that they have. -Accommodations: One of my favorite things about this winery is the limited number of guests (approximately 30) that they will accommodate. It really allows you to enjoy your time, the scenic views, meet others and get to know the owners. I can't wait to return to Celebration Cellars. Mike and Heather are blessed and what they have created at Celebration Cellars would make anyone feel good. It's also the perfect place for some Self-Care

Gorgeous setting for this lovely vineyard. Heather and Michael were gracious, knowledgeable and welcoming. Quite a variety of interesting wines to choose from and lovely red blends for red wine lovers like me. The view is amazing and there is plenty of different seating to choose from. Organize your visit soon!

Not special, touristy and food is not fresh. They do not anticipate the needs of the guests. We had a horrible experience.

We were out somewhat in this direction, and there was a Meetup group going here, so we thought to check it out as it's rare we ever go to a winery as it's normally out of the way, more likely of an occurrence when on a vacation. We took some crazy back roads from where we were in western Howard County, through Carroll, & into eastern Frederick County, where Black Ankle is. We went to the bar inside to get wines. I got a white wine; I think Chardonnay, and I think my girlfriend got a sweeter Rose or something like that. Both were delicious, but we preferred our own more. We sat outside in a nice patio area. We were in the hot Sun on that sunny day, but that was cool with me. We learned of a tour going on, which we got in on. The tour guide who wore an Italian flag bowtie was entertaining and informative. We walked around the vineyard, going inside the cooled storage areas, centrifuge area where the wine is mixed, etc. We even saw some of the old wines they had made from years earlier. We saw sheep dogs, which protect the vineyard from pests, which were cute. Overall, this is a high quality winery with plenty of nice outside & inside seating.

Bill was friendly and welcoming, he educated us well on the different types of wine and made us laugh through stories. This is a great spot to bring kids and let them run around and soak up the sun. The interior is cozy and well organized, restrooms are clean. This was my first time at the vineyard and I think I fell in love with their white wines, which is rare for me (I am a red wine girl)! I look forward to visiting the vineyard soon again, highly recommend it for date night, hanging with friends, or catching up with family.

Let me first add the context that I don't really identify as a wine drinker, but will still occasionally visit vineyards because I think the experience is nice. 61 vineyard was a cool spot for sure. They have a nice open location with tons of space (I think they said around 40 acres) and they've been expanding their main location for the four years that they've been open. They have a main tasting room, an expansion seating room, and an outdoor patio area that are all well maintained and great for parties of all sizes. I partook in the wine tasting which was very good and the staff was very friendly and easy to talk to (which I find often makes or breaks wine tasting experiences) The wine itself does seem on the pricier end for what I'm used to where I think the average bottle here goes for over $20. But there are also member and subscription types of services to take advantage of discounts. I'm not entirely sure if they have relationships with food vendors, but they didn't have many food option in the main location itself when we were there. The food options that I saw were prepackaged charcuterie packs, so I would keep that in mind for your visit. All in all a very nice winery spot and would recommend even if wine isn't typically your drink of choice.

They have a great view, string lights, indoor and outdoor seating, and a brewery close by. They have been around 4 years and are slowly revamping an old dairy farm into this winery. I loved that you could build your own flight. I enjoyed my tasting. I loved that she let us try everything, even though the tasting was set for 5 wines. I'm not sure how tastings would work when they are more busy. We went at opening on a Friday, so we could sit at the bar and hear about all the wines. There were so many good wines, but the Albariño really stood out as crisp and fresh and different.

Let me get the "bad" out of the way first, and note this is still a five-star review. You drive up a gravel country road to a small building that houses the tasting room. It's the smallest tasting room I've ever been in, and very simply decorated: a few beautifully framed pieces from the farm's history, some antique tools, and that's about it. This isn't going to be your upscale winery experience. If you're looking for Napa or Bordeaux vibes, you're in the wrong place. The single guy behind the counter turned out to be the owner. He mentioned that his wife usually runs the tastings, but she was on vacation. He was fantastic, fun to talk with, knowledgeable from both a production angle and a "yes, I actually drink these wines" perspective, which is surprisingly rare. He even spoke warmly about nearby wineries, treating them as colleagues rather than competitors. It's always refreshing to meet a winemaker who genuinely enjoys other people's wine. As for the wines: we tried all twelve. A couple were still young and could use a few years in the bottle, but they showed a lot of promise. I didn't care for the Muscat, but most of the others were excellent, and I had a hard time choosing which bottles to take home. Be sure to try the "Trop Elyts"; it's fantastic, and kind of port like. I'm not usually a rosé fan, but their take on it was so unique I bought a bottle of that, too. The farm itself dates back to the 1700s. George Washington probably slept there (he slept everywhere). It's full of character and history, and well worth the stop

There is not strong AC anywhere there. The indoor seating is very small and feels like you're in someone's grandma's living room. Tastings are done in a flight with plastic cups, not one at a time in a glass. We did enjoy the wines and eventually enjoyed talking to the one employee who was there, but it was a rough start. When we entered the tasting room we were the only people there except for one other man. We had to initiate conversation with him to determine if we were in the right place and if we could get a tasting. It was confusing and we didn't feel clear about what to do or welcomed. I did enjoy the Rich Forest Chard, the Rose blend, and the Hogshead Red. It was interesting to learn about the residual sugars and how their rose is different. There is a cemetery on the premises which was an interesting choice.
