This review is meant for Bellingham, Washington--i think it says San Fran since I was recently there? I contacted Servando with my pictures of my current patio(s), and 2 pictures for inspiration. He got in contact with me within the hour or so. And i asked for availability to come check the house out--he was willing to come that SAME day. He was able to come within the hour. Once he looked at the project in person, he only looked at it for maybe 15 minutes, and was done. He said he would have an estimate within 30 minutes once he got home (i live a little out of town at Gooseberry Point). He was very timely and i got the estimate so fast. The estimate was very respectable, and i very much agreed with his estimate. The best estimate i got for this project in fact. 50% due upfront on venmo, the other 50% on completion. I asked what the timeline would be, and he said he could start the next day starting 8:30am--amazing. His team was on time, and communicative with me over text--since i have a night-shift schedule and had to be gone while he was working. The project took 3 consecutive days (i had him do front and back porch) and it looks PHENOMENAL. I will for sure be contacting him for future services. He was a really nice guy but his bid was $12,400 to install laminate planks and the other 4 bids we've gotten were $2-3000. When I asked him for a breakdown of costs all he gave me was the photo I attached to this review. He couldn't give me any other info except that he warranty's his work. Everyone warranty's there work. I literally can't believe this. UPDATE: After seeing my review, Servando is now texting me about karma getting me and he's calling me poor. Hired to install retaining wall. Wall is level, but top curves so not completely straight. Did not install drain system, so now future problem with drainage toward home, heat pump outdoor unit and neighbor's yard. Wall will likely need to be taken down and re-done. Huge mess and expensive. Did not buy caps for walls but cut stone. Looks okay, but not what we expected. Did not glue down caps. We had to buy adhesive ($100) and will glue down ourselves. He failed to cover our new ductless heat pump outdoor unit and cement dust completely covered the unit. We now have a $350+ cleaning bill to look forward to and possible damage. He was asked to install timber gravel steps alongside the retaining walls to go up slope. His crew worked fast and before we knew / saw what they were installing, they had installed retaining wall blocks (not appropriate for stairs). They are not stacked as stairs should be. They are sliding and eroding less than 3 months after install due to rain, sand/gravel install. They are tipping under weight. No support. Used rocks, garden bricks and pieces of cement to "stabilize". Built next to a city water shut off lid, so dirt is falling on it and pooling with water. He should have installed risers for the water shut off lid, so we need to fix this.Very amateur. When we complained, he came out to "fix" in 10 minutes. Did not fix. We have obtained six assessments / estimates and all say the stairs need to be removed; not built properly. One contractor even asked if he could take a photo of the stair installation to show his crew how NOT to install stairs! Installed flagstone "patio" but used flagstone with gold beige (we asked for gray and showed pics) and spaced them like stepping stones - not a patio. Said he didn't buy enough, but would not refund us for the wrong stone and said he'd charge us labor to remove the incorrect stone and pattern he laid! Said he no longer had the receipt to return the stone. All of this on top of excessively trying to communicate, showing up late - sometimes hours and days after confirming he'd be here. Very polite and quick to reply, but not honest. We asked for Consumer Disclosure statement from Contractor and a written estimate with signatures. He'd promise to bring and never deliver. Used a platform called Thumbtack for his referral. Don't use them either - they don't honor their Money Back Guarantee. Thumbtack said his license was verified. We checked and it was when he did our work but weeks later - as we were trying to get him to fix all of the problems - we learned his license with WA state was suspended. He has no insurance. The state has filed violations against him and they have filed suit against him. We looked at all of his reviews and they were excellent, so not sure what went wrong. We've seen photos of hardscape work that he's done for others - it looks nothing like what he left us with, except for some other stairs we saw he built online that look like ours - they won't last. The owner will unfortunately find out. Just can't recommend a contractor who lied to us about his license, did not fix or honor his shoddy work. It is going to cost us thousands to fix what he has done - as we will need to pay for labor to remove all the stone he installed incorrectly. We can't re-use the blocks he used for stairs. We can't get refunded. Debating if we should file with small claims court but that's just more money and we'd likely not collect for years if ever. Just steer clear of Servando's Landscaping. He low balls everyone else, so it's easy to be drawn to his cheap prices, friendly demeanor. He responds quickly, sweetly, and cheaply. But, you get what you pay for. It was not worth it. It's impacted us financially. It's been hours of trying to correct and we won't be able to without hiring another professional. From the estimates we've received, we will be spending almost 2x more than what we already paid Servando in order to fix the mess he left us with. He could have done the right thing, but he wasn't completely honest. We're not sure if he chose not to do our job correctly or if he really doesn't know what he's doing. We'd like to think it's inexperience, but that does not justify lying or not trying to make things right. I would not trust him to mow my lawn at this point if I had one! read more

Contact Servando for all of your hardscape/landscape needs!! I had left vms for countless companies/contractors and was either ignored or quoted insane prices. I turned to Nextdoor and saw that Servando had over 70 five star reviews so I reached out via fb messenger. He responded the same day and arranged to come out and provide a quote at my earliest convenience which was the VERY next day! We were originally going to only have a retaining wall put in and had intended on installing additional drainage as well as sod ourselves. When Servando came out we discussed the retaining wall and different options. He immediately started discussing additional drainage and ideas as well. It wasn't in a pushy "I'm trying to just upsell you" way either. He actually knows what he's talking about and is focused on getting you exactly what you're looking for. We recieved the quote from him for the retaining wall and as well as one for drainage + sod within 2 days of him coming out to see the yard. Because of his great suggestions, knowledge, and pricing, we ended up having his company install our retaining wall, level the entire yard, add all new drainage, pour an extension to our concrete patio, sod the entire yard, and trim the tree behind our house! We agreed to the quote on a Friday or Saturday and he showed up with his crew on Monday morning. They were polite, hardworking, and FAST! He would talk us through different things along the way to make sure we were happy and keep us updated. We got our entire backyard overhauled for less than every other company was wanting for just the retaining wall! Everything looks so professional and wonderful.
