April's invoice never came by email again this month! The monthly invoice used to come at the end of the month, but several times now, I have not received any communication at all! I finally called (again) on May 8th to inquire about my April invoice and was I told there had been issues with sending the invoices and when I said I would wait to get one, I was told if it wasn't paid by the 17th of May, I would be charged a late fee!! I have no idea what is going on with this company, but I paid it on the 8th, to eliminate any late fee! How can you charge me a late fee when you can't bother sending me a bill? In addition to everything else, the person I spoke with was very difficult to understand and not real personable! I'll be so glad when my lease is up!! It's really sad because the technicians are super nice professional people! I received a call from the assistant manager today and informed that the billing was not done locally and I am pleased that the situation is being addressed! He was going to contact the billing company and advise them if my original complaint. So, at least I know someone cares enough to try and solve this problem! read more

Stay away from this company especially a salesman named Jimmy Simmons(904-750-1803) he tricked me into buying a new air conditioner when I didn't need one. He told me that a thermostat would not be covered when I had a extented warranty and a new one would cost $1,000 which was not true and when I confronted him with it he said if he wouldn't have told me that he would get fired. Don't let this salesman in your house and as far as the company it seems to me they have unethical people working for them , he caught me at a vulnerable moment I just lost my wife and son within a 4 month span and he had pressured my wife several months before to buy a new air conditioner because within a year or two she wouldn't be able to get parts. This morning I found the A/C unit upstairs wasn't functioning. I called the service group and requested service. They scheduled service for later that day. I had requested if Roger the technician was available that would be great. They indicated he was on other job. Not 15 minutes later I received a call from Roger who indicated he was on his way. Roger came and diagnosed the issue which required an electrician. Roger again saved the day. Always thinking about the customer. I won't call anyone else, because Air Engineers cares And Roger is the best there is. read more

I called them again as I've had nothing but problems with the AC unit installed by the builder. Every year it's something else breaking. I've been pondering buying a new unit for a couple of years now and today I decided to just do it. Waleed was the salesman that came out with Brandon, the service tech. I must say, I was very impressed. Nothing puts me off more than a high pressure salesman. Waleed couldn't have been any less high pressure. Don't get me wrong, I have been considering this purchase since last year, so he really didn't need to "sell" the unit, but his knowledge and conversation was enough to make me decide. While Waleed and I were talking, Brandon was outside working on the "issues" I was having. The cost of repair versus the cost of replacement made it an absolutely no brainer. I know some will say, they are working together to pressure the sale, however, I've lived in a brand new build home and have had one issue after another with this Carrier AC unit. I am very aware (down to a 1 degree difference) In the performance of my unit. My new unit is being installed tomorrow. I couldn't be more happy with my decision. Very dishonest people. These people cane out and recommended replacing several items that did not need replacing. But the worst was that when they scheduled to do a $5k repair to replace a coil in my air handler. After waiting for them to get the part and scheduling a time to install it and arranging to have someone there to meet them, they called at the last minute and said 3 of their technicians didn't show up and they needed to reschedule me for a later date. Having no choice, I happily agreed to the new date they gave me. On that date they called to let me know that the technician was on his way but the price of the coil had just doubled and it was now going to cost over $7k. I pointed out that they said they already had the item earlier and were ready to install it. They countered with a line of bs saying they had to return the part and reorder it had now doubled in price. I then pointed out that the rescheduling was all done by them and for them. I talked to several people there, but none of them had the honesty to own this. Thankfully, I called another HVAC company who replaced the entire air handler, not just the coil for under $5k. As part of our Advantage membership, David and Van came over to check our system. They cleaned the system pipe and replaced our ultraviolet light in the HVAC unit. Tested the unit for heat efficiency and checked the thermostat. Asso put in a new filter and checked the airflow. This is a first-rate dependable company. Our AC system was not keeping up with the heat, so we called Air Engineers. They originally installed our AC system and have always serviced it. They came out with a tech and a sales person. They said that because the system was so dirty, they were unable to diagnose the issue and quoted us $2500 to clean the system. However, the salesperson was really pressing us to buy a whole new system for close to $18,000. We called another company that came out, diagnosed the issue and repaired it for half the cost of the cleaning price from Air Engineers originally quoted. They also reminded us they the unit was still under warranty. Pushing customers to replace systems that are still under warranty, feels unethical to me. Very disappointed in this company that we've used for years. read more

We moved to Jax a few months ago and began experiencing problems with the new house - yup - AC issue. Bad capacitor and 2 pounds short on coolant. Called Air Engineers based on a postcard we received in the mail. They were there within a few hours and fixed our issue. They also shared some very interesting product/service packages. We ended up opting for the Advantage Plus package and received a whole new system - better suited to our home (4 ton vs a 2 1/2) and also pretty much maintenance free for the next ten years. This is done on a contract basis and may not be for everyone - however for us, we now have peace of mind knowing that if we experience any issues for the next ten years. They will be handled immediately at no cost to us . We make a monthly payment based on the equipment provided . If you want peace of mind with your AC highly recommend checking them out. I bought a house last year. The HVAC system that came with the house was installed by these guys and the seller transferred the maintenance plan he had over to us. I had them come out to do the semi annual maintenance in October; AC was fine. I had them come out again on the 18th to do maintenance and they said everything looked good, the pressure was slightly low, but we were having cold weather and that's typical. I had the heat on for the next 5 days because it was cold out. I turned the AC on for the first time on the 5th day. On the 6th day, my AC wasn't functioning. The thermostat was blank, outdoor unit wasn't cutting on, etc. I gave them a call and they had someone come out that night to take a look. Before he even knew the problem, he was telling me I need to replace the AC unit because it's 10 years old. He then tells me my coil is freezing up, causing the condensate line to build up with water, which is tripping the safety switch and shutting off my AC. He goes to clean my condensate line and comes back and says i need to have the TXV valve replaced; $1,099. He kept insisting that I replace the entire unit as opposed to replacing a part. All of the back and forth didn't make me very confident that they knew for 100% sure that it was actually the TXV valve. He also pulled a report from 2 years prior (with the last owner) that said the TXV is malfunctioning. The unit still would have been under warranty, so why didn't they repair it then? Who knows. I also looked up the TXV part they say needs to be replaced and it only costs $200-$250 online. I decided to get a refund for the maintenance plan that I had just renewed and am currently searching for another company to come out and troubleshoot what's going on. I find it odd that I've had 0 trouble with my AC and then it stops working once these guys come and mess with it. My AC shut off the day after they came out to troubleshoot, so I went in the yard and tilted the condensate drain down because it was tilted in the air. A crap ton of water dumped from it and my AC cut back on within 10 seconds. When I called, they said the condensate drain should be tilted up, which I'm not sure how water is supposed to drain from it if it's tilted up. I can't seem to get into the attic to confirm whether there's a P trap on the drain up there, so in the mean time, I'm dumping a bit of water from the line every day to keep it working until I can have someone come out and confirm what the issue is. It seems this company only likes to replace units instead of repairing them and only believe an AC will last for 10 years. They charge $10-$20k for a new AC and don't have faith that their installations will last more than 20 years. I know plenty of people with 20 year old HVAC systems. *Update: Yes, I'm sorry this wasn't the case too. I called Avalon Heating and Air and gave them a rundown of what I had going on. They sent a technician out. The technician literally laughed when they saw the notes Air Engineers left me. They checked my pressures and the pressures were great. He said one pressure would have been high and one low if it were the TXV that air engineers said I needed replaced. He 100% guaranteed that it wasn't the TXV that was causing my AC to shut off. Come to find out, it was because Air Engineers tried to have a double trap on my condensate drain outside of the house. The simple act of tilting the drain down so it can actually drain ended up solving the issue. The kicker is that Avalon never attempted to sell me a whole new AC; although when I asked about the pricing, they said they would charge me $3k for a new AC. I will definitely be going to them instead once I am ready for a new AC in the next year or 2. I'd stay away from this company; they're all about installing ACs, don't want to repair them, and insist it needs to be replaced every 10 years and charge $10-$20k for it. read more

Called them for a quote and to possibly fix our AC. The sales rep had us sign up for some membership program to wave the diagnostic fee if we went with them to fix and to give us 15% off. The men came out to look at our equipment when husband wasn't home and claimed it would cost over $3000 to fix because of alllllll the things they claimed were wrong. When husband arrived their tune changed to $550. This did not set right with us so we Had another repair guy (not from this company) come out and fix it since they were still going to charge for diagnostic either way (rip off). Other guy fixed the issue for $200 and our AC is working great!!! - bottom line- tried to take advantage of a woman, charged way too much, and lied about fee. read more

Don't buy anything from this company, STAY AWAY. Don't sign any lease contract with this company, they are going to charge you three times the cost of the unit. The don't require any money upfront but you have to pay a leasing contract of $160 per month for 10 years, that's a total cost of $19,200 for an A/C unit of 2.5 tons. To release the lease contract I had to make a loan and pay the unit in full, $10,000. read more

My AC stopped working and I had the another company come out and find that the A-coil in the air handler had leaked The test only took 10 minutes with a leak analyzer. The first company told me they would not fix the system since it was out of warranty and they only work on systems that have an active warranty. Otherwise they wanted to replace the whole system. So I called Air Engineers for a bid to repair. When I was making the appointment on the phone I was told that if I already had a service call from another company they would do a service call for free. This was the case, so I made an appointment with them. Just Before the tech was to arrive he called me and asked what was going on with the system I told him what the other tech had found (leaking coil). He told me that the service call to diagnose the system would be around $475!! I told him that we already know it has a leaking coil. He claimed that they would need to reassess the system themselves and it would be $475. Checking the system for a leak is only a 10 minute routine. These guys are scammers in my opinion. We have them since 2018 and subscribe for membership. They were supposed to do annual and semi-annual maintenance of our. 2 AC units. Unfortunately, I come to find out the Condenser unit was not adequately cleaned. We have many trees in our yard, and the bottom of the unit was all caked up with debris. The last technician who check it found out that the coils leak. He was trying to sell me the whole AC system instead of suggesting how to replace it. The unit was still in warranty btw. I had another company to check it. They said that they were supposed to clean the debris, hose down and clean the coils as maintenance. Now I have to replace it. The air service engineer technician told me that they have a payment plan of $200 per month for 10 years this includes maintenance and repairs. That is craZy it will total to $24,000 in 10 years. I had the coil replaced $1,400 that includes labor , coils and refrigerants. read more

He quickly came out and identified the problem (cleaning the drain) and restored the system to operating condition - which is huge during this July heat. I called Air Engineers this morning for a problem with my heat pump system that had stopped running during the night. When the technician arrived and opened the air handler he said oh, the wire nut on the incoming power wire has come loose. After he fixed the connection, about 2 minutes, I asked him why would the wire nut come loose, and he said they come loose from time to time and should have been checked and tightened during your last system maintenance. The technician then told me there was an $85.00 charge for replacing the wire nut. I asked the tech why I had to pay for the service call, since I am on your yearly system maintenance. He said the charge was for the wire nut installation. First, I cannot believe that Air Engineers would have the gall to charge $85.00 to install a wire nut. Second, why do I pay for yearly maintenance, if I have to pay to have something fixed, that should have been corrected, during my last six months system maintenance checkup? If this is the way Air Engineers is going to treat one of their longtime customers, I will be looking for another company to handle my future home heating, and air condition needs I was called today by the Air Engineers operations manager who seems to feel that making money is more important then a good customer relationship. He did not seem to want to talk with a dissatisfied customers. read more

I called in the early morning to have someone come out to fix my ac unit. The person I got into contact with said between 8-10am. They also convinced me to sign up for a "free" membership plan to get a discount/ service fee waived. I later looked at the plan and it turns out it was not really free and that they will charge you after the first month for being a member. They do not disclose the cost. I don't recall seeing any of that being stated when I signed up for the free membership. Very dishonest in terms of business practices. I called back at 9:15 to check to make sure someone was coming. The second person I got ahold of told me the previous employee was mistaken and that it would be between 4-6pm to have someone come out. I decided based on the scammy behavior and unreliable wait times to go with a different AC company. It took the other company 30-45 mins to come out. They were very efficient. read more

Paul R., Technician #424, came out within an hour and a half of my call to the office. He diagnosed the fan motor was malfunctioning and arranged for repair the next day. Thes guys were horrible,. They sent 2 guys out to my house to do yearly AC maintenance. Then they told me I had a leak in my unit and it was very serious and I needed to set up an appointment for someone to come out and do a leak detection for $500. I got angry and told them that last year when I had them out for thew annual visit the service person told me I had a leak and needed the coil replaced . I agreed to that even though this is lemon and was only 5 years old. New coils are very expensive but I trusted them. So I asked them ( they sent out 2 guys ) why I had a leak again and told them about last year. Both of these guys did not say a word. One of them took his cell phone to the end of the driveway and called someone - i guess the company and the other guy tried to distract me with a stupid conversation. They guy win the phone cam back and repeated there was a leak.. so I paid for the service visit and told them to leave and that I would get another AC company to confirm there was a leak. They left. The next day someone from the office called and talked to me and said they would waive the $500 leak detection fee and send someone out free.. hmmmm .. so I said ok., The next day one guy came out, checked around and said I did NOT have a leak. I was pissed. I asked him why the 2 guys from his company told me I had a leak and he said they were new and experienced. I do NOT know what the truth is. But I do know I will NEVER use this company again. So maybe they have lots of good people working there and I just got some bad ones. maybe..and maybe I did not need a new coil the previous year.. again.. We purchased a new HVAC from Air Engineers 2 years ago and later added the special filter (they replace twice a year) with the UV light. Not only have our electric bills gone down significantly, they are always courteous and prompt for our maintenance appointments. We recently noticed our air handler sweating and they came out the same day, quite key diagnosed the problem and fixed it all for under $100! I have nothing but respect and regard for the technicians who work for Air Engineers. But their scheduling department headed by a woman named Crystal at Air Engineers is incompetent and unpleasant to deal with. Several weeks ago, we made an appointment with Air Engineers. When when the day of our appointment arrived, nobody came to our house to service our AC. It seems that when we made our appointment the scheduling department forget to record it in their schedule. We subsequently rescheduled a visit and when we did, the technician said we had major leaks in our AC and we needed to quickly get it repaired. This was especially urgent as we were going out of town for 4 weeks. However, when we called back, Crystal would barely give us the time of the day. We told her about our schedule and she said she would get back to us. But she totally blew us off. Finally we called the office again and got some other people in the scheduling office. They included Tine, Elaine and Jose and they were very nice and told us they would make sure our AC was fixed before we left. We even got an e mail saying they would come out today Friday. But on Friday, we waited around and nobody came. When I called Air Engineers, the scheduling department said that they had canceled our appointment. When I asked why they did not at least tell us. Crystal, who seems lacking any sense of empathy, said they had talked to my wife. In disbelief I said her comments were not true at all. In fact, If Crystal had called my wife, I mentioned that I would not be calling her to inquire why there were no technicians at our house in the first place. As you can see, Air Engineers has left us hanging several time. It seems that we call them, they promise service and then they never show up. If you talk to Crystal she is very unpleasant and non apologetic and does not seem to care whether our AC is fixed or not. The technicians at Air Engineers are first rate especially Jose. But the scheduling department under Crystal provides terrible service. At least Elaine, Jose and Tine are sympathetic. But Crystal is another matter. Avoid her at all cost. The service manager at Air Engineers needs to find a better person to run their scheduling department. Crystal seems unorganized, and she seems indifferent as to whether the company provides good service or not. read more

I paid for 10- year warranty have almost nothing to show for it. Every time these people come out I doubt they are actually servicing my unit. They come they go unit breaks down within a month or weeks. Lenux breaks down that soon so I have to pay for parts at 15% discount even with contract? Bad deal. No more with these people. NOT TRUSTWORTHY!! My AC wasn't cooling well. They diagnosed a bad circuit board and wanted over $800 to replace it. When I asked how much the actual part was, they claimed that they didn't know (or really wouldn't tell me). When I asked what the part number was so I could find out myself, they again claimed they didn't know (wouldn't tell me that either). After some research I found out that the OEM part was only $280.
