I initially brought in another company for an estimate but called Spencer back for a fact check to verify the first company's pricing. Spencer was able to respond immediately with what Leak Geek's pricing would be for the same pricing and said they could get out there within about an hour. I ended up hiring Leak Geeks, and Spencer got here within about 30 minutes of being dispatched. He did a great job identifying where the leak was coming from. It was a worse case than I had hoped for, but he found it. He cut and capped the line so I could still use the rest of the water in the house while the drywall was being remediated and the eventual repairs could be made. He referred a remediation company, American Water Damage, who had an estimator come out, again within about an hour, provide an estimate, and get a remediation tech to come out to move a basin, cut open the upstairs wall, and place fans and a dehumidifier. I'm impressed and relieved that they could get all of this done in the same day. Spencer was friendly and professional throughout. However, Zach came out later that same day for the estimate, and he completely changed my impression. He was professional, honest, hardworking, and got straight to the point. They were difficult to communicate with, bumped our appointment, and showed up at a random time when we were not available. If you have an emergency and are *very* flexible, will be home all day, and won't mind if your time slot is bumped, then maybe try Mother Modern. Clients are just supposed to be available all day on a workday? Very odd. We wanted to try to find a more reliable company, so we said (in case we couldn't make an appt with someone else) that if they had someone available Monday AFTERNOON, to give us 1 hour notice so we could meet the technician. They sent someone first thing Monday MORNING and gave half hour notice. We missed meeting this technician, of course. The company wants your business, but has real communication and scheduling issues. Maybe Mother Modern specializes in the most urgent of emergencies and expects you to be anxiously waiting on property 24/7 for them to show. So if you're desperate or very flexible, maybe this company will work for you. If you have a job, then Mother Modern might be a headache to deal with.
