He installed a cat door, helped me with a hanging rod AND installed a digital lock!! (Quotes for a digital lock install have exceeded 200 dollars - it's not that complicated) All in 2 hours :-)!! He had all of the necessary tools and worked fast and I am totally impressed. He is honest in what he can and cannot do. This is in stark contrast to a recent experience where a locksmith charged over 100 dollars for a simple 15 minute handle switch out, failed to check the lock and then had to come back, AND made me wait until the next day - no thanks! Or another handy man, who was the opposite of handy :/. Pavel provides fast, professional, quality work, for a reasonable price and is trustworthy - which for me is a big deal in the current times. Unfortunately, Enrique did not even work on my house because of his unprofessionalism. My house sprung a leak, we had it remediated and now needed the drywall patched, textured, and painted. I wanted to give Enrique a chance as I see he did not have a lot of reviews, his prices were fair and he was the sole worker. I wanted to give an up and coming small business a chance. When I messaged Enrique Thursday, I had indicated if he could come work "tomorrow (Friday)". I knew "tomorrow" would've been misunderstood so that's why I had indicated Friday so it was clear. He responded, tomorrow around 12PM. I assumed he meant Friday. I had messaged him at 11AM on Friday to ask when he was on the way. He told me "tomorrow or other day". In the end he misunderstood my message even though I was specific. Ok, fine. Saturday was busy for me but I moved things around to try to work with him. Saturday came, and I had a doctor's appt that was running late. At first I thought I'd be home by 12:30, so I had messaged him. When I realized it would take longer, I had messaged him at 11:37AM letting him know if it he could come at 1:30PM instead. He said ok no problem. Of course 1:30 rolls around, nothing from Enrique. I message him at 1:48PM asking him if he was on his way. His response? "Me jow is other job". I responded, "OK, so are you not coming?" No response. By 4:18PM, I had messaged him that this was very unprofessional and I would be leaving a review on yelp. Of course he decided to respond saying that I was the one that changed the schedule 3 times, not him. Suffice to say, communication is just one of Enrique's issues. I would've been ok with the miscommunications, but the fact that he told me no problem on the schedule change and decided to just not even come? He could've told me that he can't reschedule and I would've had my husband come home and wait for him instead. We needed our nursery to be finished so we could finally put our baby in there. She hasn't been sleeping so neither have we and we were desperate to finally sleep train her and all we needed was work to be done. Now we're stuck with 3 more days of sleep deprivation because it is the weekend. If this is how Enrique treats potential customers, I wouldn't trust him with anything to do with my house.
