We have had to use remediation services twice. Once when selling a home and a second time after faulty roof work caused an issue in our attic space. Both times after numerous quotes we hired Serpro. We found them to be priced the best and the service was fantastic. They were fair and hard working. They would show up on time and set realistic expectations for us. If we ever have a need again, fingers crossed we won't, they are the company we plan to turn to. We're so thankful we were able to find an honest remediation company to work with that doesn't try to cheat you or make false promises. I would highly recommend them. read more

Chris and his crew are my heroes! A plumber broke a pipe and left without turning on the water. When I turned it on, I had instant 3 story waterfall! Needless to say it was a traumatic experience! Chris called that evening and assessed the situation. He was out early the next day. He scoped out what was needed and brought a crew back the next day. The entire crew was polite and extremely helpful and kind. They finished their work in one day and set up fans and dehumidifiers. Chris came by that afternoon and the following day and was available by phone to answer my many questions. Chris and crew made a very stressful experience much easier to handle. I contracted Servpro after a septic clog backup. They were responsive. They gave me an estimate, told me that this an accurate estimate. The invoice is twice the amount. I asked for a detailed explanation : no response. They owe me two more invoices, I dare not think what these will be. I recommend never using their services, because in their agreement, they basically reserve the right to change pricing at any point, to any amount. Then any verbal communication made by them is to be distrusted (they say so in their contract). Finally, if you don't pay, they put a lien on your house. So basically when you sign with servpro, you are signing over a blank check and if you do not take them to court, you either pay or you have a lien on your house. Also, they changed teams, lead people, they told me once : yes, let me know tomorrow and the next day I call and the person is on a one week vacation. So now, I am stressed out because this may mean 10k more out of pocket, and the only way out is either lawyer or pay. read more

I had a flood in my basement in Chicago, IL back on May 17th. I did NOT call the Boulder location, but somehow I was sent the people from Colorado. I was panicked about the flood and it did not help that I am recovering from a head injury that has left me with a bit of speech impairment and some cognitive issues, point is I wanted to get the basement taken care of as soon as possible. When the 2 reps came to my house first question was, "what's your deductible?" That didn't mean anything to me at the time. Anyway, on the date that the service was to be performed I requested a cost breakdown of the work. I NEVER received the cost break down and when I asked the guys they said that I to get it from the company. I allowed the work to start (by the way this was May 27th and it was 90 plus degrees, so with air on my house smelled like a sewer). One of the workers explained to me that he would clean and set aside all of the dry things and the others would go to the garbage. Around 3:30pm, I remembered a gray metal box that was in the closet. I asked about the case and the guy said, "oh you mean the one that looks locked". He said he trashed it. I asked them to retrieve it because it had old coins in it that my dad left me when he died in 1987. When the other guy brought me the box it was still closed, so I thought nothing of it and sat it in my tub since it had been in the garbage. Later that night when I opened it I discovered that EVERYTHING (my military dog tags, a German $10, old letters and cards from my daughter and grandmother, small newspaper clipping, EVERYTHING) was in the box EXCEPT the coins. I asked and wrote a note to a different worker (1 of 5) the next day, (again speech impairment) and he said he would send a picture of the note to the workers from the day prior. This never happened. I have emailed with Nathan, (who was never in my home that I know of) but immediately stated that the box was locked and the guys only threw it out because it was filled with sewer water. 1. the box does not lock and 2. how would they know if it locked or didn't lock if they didn't attempt to open it. I never had the coins appraised or anything of that nature, because I never wanted to be tempted to get rid of the coins for the dollar value. The guys made several other errors of throwing out things they said they would clean and oh yeah, they "threw out" unopened liquor that was on top of my wet bar (not wet) that was also trashed and according to their work breakdown (that I received almost a month later) it was not listed to be removed. No offer to compensate me for that and the most insulting part is that they have offered me less than $100 for the coins and a couple of I'm sorry you are not happy with our company. I DON'T know why Farmers recommends this company, but I have been told that there is something with Farmers on Servpro's IG account, hmmm. I won't call them thieves, but I will say that for MY experience, somethings (COINS) that mean a great deal to me came up missing and they recklessly "threw out" and/or broke things without regard. BEWARE, better yet AVOID AT ALL COST!!! read more

The septic line broke in my house and sewage started to creep into the basement and downstairs bathroom. I called to hire them to clean everything up and disinfect so that a plumber could get in and fix the line with the break/blockage in it. First, because I was a renter and not the homeowner we had to go through this huge ordeal to get papers signed by the owner, a friend of mine's Mom. They wouldn't even send the paperwork to me so that I could forward it to her when I got home. So I had to interrupt her work day to get her work email so that we could get this done before the close of business (scheduled at least...) Well, after an hour of back and forth crap I finally get a call that someone is heading to the house. I wasn't there, no one had actually set up an appointment. We rescheduled for today and when the technician called he said it was $180 for them just to come to the house! $180 to drive from Boulder all of 12 miles. Then he started quoting all of these other prices and costs and everything. Needless to say I canceled that appointment and am now waiting on 2 or 3 other companies in the Denver area who give free estimates. Never again... read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I had this company come in and work on my house after a house fire. This was a year ago to date. The job was supposed to take between 2-3 months total. After 6 months I finally had to ask the company to leave my property. They gave me 4 or 5 deadlines that they did not meet and wouldn't even call to say we aren't going to meet it. Consistently my contractor would listen to what I say and do something completely different then act like I never said it. He lied to me several times saying he had forgotten or lost swabs or paint colors when they had actually never been chosen and he couldn't even remember because I was one of 25 different major jobs he was working on and I mattered nothing. Simple things that any normal person would know, he would act like I was asking for the most high class stuff. My shower head that was replaced had no ring to hide being able to see in the next room behind bathroom and the shower head was connected directly to a raw pipe. When I asked about this and about maybe putting a neck on the shower head so it would be more normal they looked at me like I was crazy and they didn't know what that was. Some things that weren't covered by my insurance I had to pay for out of pocket which was expected. 3 months after I have asked the company to leave they will still not bill me for the portion I owe because they are claiming whatever my insurance company will not pay they will make me pay. The contractor had one bid originally approved and then did 10,000$ worht of work without getting any of it approved through my insurance company without my knowledge. To top it off when they sent me the invoice there was several items they were charging me and my insurance for that was never completed including wiring the smoke detectors to code (DUH we had a housefire). Overall, if I were to go back and do it all over I would run away from this company. I had to go over my contractors head and then over that persons head. That was still unsuccessful. I had to have my insurance company send in a secondary agent because they were charing me $3,000 for a set of cabinets that I would barely even pay $500 for. Multiple items on the invoice were double billed. They also cut drywall in the house with a newborn after indicating to me they would not do that and they would have a barrier put up which was never put up. They flooded my basement twice because of something their worker did. They had to fire a team of people that worked on my house for over a month because they were incompetent. This company's motto is like it never happened. It is quite the opposite. If you thought 50% of your house being destroyed was your nightmare, working with this company was a hundred times worse. I would set my own house on fire again before hiring this company to even change a light bulb in my house. They have ruined our life and continue to even a year later. read more

Water was leaking from our upstairs through a floor and into the kitchen, light. I was panicked to say the least. I get scattered and kinda crazy. Ivan literally was aware enough to help me find my phone, and once again saved me when he brought my thermos with coffee (quietly). I say that because I felt that I was and are continuing to get the very best that they can do. When you deal with this company, for me personally, there was never any doubt in my mind that this was manageable. Thanks to the awesome care from Josh, the project supervisor, to Job Sup Ivan Ramirez, and Joel and Yoban, and Daniel, and Jose!!! Everyone was awesome. They were "on task and working" every day that they were here. I was assured that my dog Keyshia and myself were safe to live in our house once Ivan and crew left. I'm going to hire this company again. They were able to contain every area affected, being very cautious of my home and decor, as well as kind and informative as they did their job. Ivan was amazing. Poor, nothing good to say. They are crooks and don't care about the customer in my case. They keep sending me bills for a mistake made by the crew that they sub contracted that did not understand what I explained to the de to a language barrier (and no supervisor from servepro present) and then charged me for calling a hvac company to fix the problem ( once again from them with no servepro rep present once again). The tech blew our power to the whole home to the street twice and left me waiting for the power company at 1 a.m. In the cold with family in town from out of state. They than sent me a bill for both services almost 8 weeks later with no contact from them to see if our home was safe. The guy in charge had no knowledge of any of this and yet didn't call to check either. Classic example of shady business and only caring about money in my opinion. I am a licensed Denver General contractor and that means something to me. I would have been there the same night making sure things were right before I even attempted to send someone a bill. Good luck, I will relay this to servepro headquarters about your franchise and subcontractors as I stated in our little talk ( that I had to initiate) as you obviously don't seem to care about the people that trust in you to do a job correctly. read more

ServPro did some water restoration work for us a few months ago due to a hot water heater problem. Our insurance suggested them and we thought they did a fantastic job. The crew they sent was awesome and the experience was great. Fast forward to May and we again had flooding and water in our basement (this time due to rain). Because of our previous good experience, we called ServPro again. This time is was on our dime, but we were confident in the company. When we called, I asked for an estimate for water extraction -- I knew it would be just an estimate, but wanted an idea. I was told $45/hour. All we wanted was the water extracted -- didn't have to rip out carpet, baseboard, etc., as we hadn't fixed anything yet from the hot water heater issue. It was a Saturday night -- they got there about 8:30/9:00. They were there for LESS THAN TWO HOURS. We told the lead guy we had been quoted $45/hour. He said okay... He later told me we had gotten a good deal and that it is normally $8/sq foot. The water kept coming in and the crew suggested we wait until Monday to have them come back. That is what we did. Monday they came and spent 5-6 hours extracting water. They then came back a third time to extract a bit more water. Somewhere in all this, the office called and said the price was really $.60/sq foot and that the $45 we were told was wrong and would not be honored. So essentially, we were told THREE different prices by THREE different people. When we received our bill it was just under $2000. That may not seem like a lot, but we questioned the pricing -- especially since the bill was not detailed at all. Further conversations with multiple people in the office have been incredibly frustrating and angering. The final call was with Meredith in the billing office (I believe that is her role). She pretty much called me a liar and said no one in their office gives quotes over the phone. I wish I had a recording of the first call with Tonya. Meredith also told me she had talked to my husband and he was "fine" with the bill -- no, he wasn't, which is why we were having all these conversations. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. I had spoken earlier with a woman named Candy. She was wonderful and wanted to know all the conversations we'd had and wanted to know our concerns. She was extremely sympathetic and said she would do more research and get back to me by the end of that week. I hadn't heard from her yet when I received the above-mentioned call from Meredith. When I realized Meredith and I weren't getting anywhere I said I would rather continue the conversation with Candy. I was then told that Candy "didn't feel comfortable talking with me" and that is why Meredith was calling. I called Candy back and left her a message about what I was told. She later left me a message saying she had never told Meredith she wasn't comfortable talking with me and would do more follow-up. She apologized for how I was treated. My point is, I have lost ALL RESPECT for this company. The crews have been great. The office -- not at all. I've since read several reviews about ServPro in general and now wish I would have read these earlier. I would have gone with the other company our insurance company recommended. NEVER AGAIN will I use ServPro -- and I would discourage anyone else from subjecting themselves to this kind of treatment. The only reason a person would call ServPro is because of an emergency and then to be treated like we were is like adding salt to a wound. Also, I was to receive a call from a Joel and one from Candy again. I have yet to hear anything. I know this was a very long review... It is very frustrating when you are told so many different things, are treated like you are a liar, and don't receive calls from people you are told will calll you back. read more

A very negative SERVPRO experience! I called my local SERVPRO in Boulder, CO and they had Dave and Dion from Washington County RI come to my house to assess the damage to my finished basement from the flood of September 2013. They didn't bring a meter to check moisture levels and when questioned they answered that after 20 years they just knew. I got the same answer when they said they didn't need to measure. That evening they sent me an estimate for $5790 with no specification of what would be done. The estimate said labor $3400, materials, etc. I also had Service Master send a team and they were out of Missouri. They came a few hours after SERVPRO and brought a meter to check all of my walls for moisture and pointed out one wet corner. I had already removed all of the carpet and baseboard and had fans running. They also suggested how I should deal with the cabinetry and summed it up that I had done everything right and there was little more to do. They charged me $120. The head of another local company came by and checked the situation and also thought we were in good shape but to keep the fans running and get the humidity down below the 40% it was now at. He charged $0. It wasn't SERVPRO of greater Boulder that came to my house but they were the ones who sent the SERVPRO of RI guys to my house. read more

They look so professional, but we had a terrible experience with Servpro. We had a leak in our basement that flooded water under a corner of our carpet. The Servpro salesperson came and installed fans and a Dehumidifier in the corner of the room and sat with his ipad for 45 minutes. No effort was made to remove the carpet pad under the carpet which was completely saturated. After two days with the equipment running my wife and I noticed that the carpet pad was not going to dry. We removed the carpet pad which was dripping wet still. We were surprised that the Servpro professional did not make any effort to remove the pad under the carpet. The floor was never going to dry with the saturated pad under the carpet. The carpet and floor was dry the next day when Servpro came to pick up the equipment and we got a bill for over $500. We expect a Damage Restoration company to have more knowledge and to put more effort into fixing the problem. We will never use Servpro again. read more
