Seth and team catered our wedding reception and to say we were pleased would be a gross understatement! The entire process was seamless. Seth was an excellent communicator and walked us through the decision making process. We decided to go with the deluxe buffet option and boy was it a hit. Each dish we tried was absolutely delicious. I have never seen a catered buffet with such generous portions. The stuffed chicken breast and short ribs were massive and would rival any full-size entree you could get in a restaurant. In addition to the incredible entrees, the sides were also quite delicious. A special shout out for the roasted red pepper tomato soup. It was amazing! Boy are we glad our wedding was on a Sunday. Given Seth's popularity, he is usually booked 1-2 years in advance for weddings. We got lucky and were able to book him just about a year in advance. Being somewhat unfamiliar with how booking a wedding caterer works, we were a bit apprehensive about signing a contract and putting down a deposit before attending the tasting session. We did not get to try the food before we put down a deposit, which seems a little weird, but given Seth's sterling reputation, we were inclined to make the booking. We are SO HAPPY that we did. The tasting was in a group setting (like a reception), which allowed them to create several plates of different dishes to try. The tasting was incredible, and proof to us that we had found an amazing caterer for our wedding. One of the things that impressed us the most with Seth was his timely responses. We mostly chose options that were a part of his standard menu, however, there were some traditional Polish dishes we wanted to have at the wedding. Although they weren't on the menu, Seth said it wasn't a problem and he could make it happen. Pierogi happened! Seth delivered above and beyond, at what we felt was a more than reasonable price. Immediately after the ceremony, we were hungry but we had to run off and take photos. His staff made sure to bring a tray of hors d'oeuvre over to us, in our own private area off to the side, and make sure we didn't forget to eat. I think we ate too many. They were so amazing. We got the Artichoke Beignets, Blackened Kielbasa, and Pecan Parmesan Stuffed Dates Wrapped in Bacon. It was absolutely incredible. And the staff kept coming over to make sure we had everything we needed. It made the wedding stress-free. Seth also worked with us very closely to make sure our dinner menu was well balanced so that our vegetarian guests would be just as happy as everyone else, and he made suggestions on a variety of pastas and summer vegetables that were well-cooked, vibrant, and flavorful. We also had a Dijon Salmon and a Goat Cheese and Pistachio Crusted Chicken, to which we received a great deal of positive remarks. We never actually met Seth in person, but his staff were an extension of him. Professional, courteous, and skilled at navigating around changing schedules and concerned mothers. Hiring Seth and his team was by far the best decision I made for my wedding. Seth's reputation for excellence preceded him to the point where my husband calls him "the catering king of western mass" because everyone he met from my home town raved about a time when they had his food. On our wedding day his team blew me and my guests away with the quality of his food and service. My guests said things like: " I never had wedding food like this before!" "The food is SO good! I can't get enough of the Mac and cheese bites (with food in their mouth) Oh...and you look beautiful" "Someone noticed I hadn't taken a lot of food, they checked in with me to see if everything was ok. I let them know I had just started a new diet but didn't want to be a bother. They insisted on making me something I could eat, I was so grateful" On the business end, Seth requires very little Attention when compared to other vendors. We met, made and plan, and they made it happen. I was able to accommodate my budget within his menu easily and costs were very straightforward. Alrighty. The cold, hard, truth is that I was terrified of what kind of food we would have at our wedding. My wife and I both enjoy many culinary adventures and have a great time hosting friends for semi-elaborate dinner parties. When planning our big day, I felt a dark cloud of doom hovering over the catering end of the "to do" list. How could we possibly feed 100 people the way we wanted to without A) doing the cooking ourselves (nightmare!!) or B) going way over our modest and self-imposed budget. To my great relief, Mill 1 had a list of preferred catering, and after perusing all available websites, I thought Seth Mias Catering was the best blend of modern and traditional with the absolute best value I have ever seen for a full service caterer, period. But, to be truthful, it wasn't until we left the tasting that I was truly impressed, if not completely alleviated of my fears. I thought, for the price, we would maybe get edible food that no one would complain about. (Wedding food is the WORST), but no! People RAVED. They had a great meal. Some went up for seconds. Success! Seth worked with us to tweak his offerings so that our completed menu would be seasonal and have something for everyone. Our cheese display was gorgeous, the food presentation was lovely, and the staff was polite and hard working. Our experience with Seth and his staff was more than 5 stars. We checked out every caterer in the area for our wedding this past September. Food was identified as one of the most important things for us when planning our wedding. The challenge was that we have a lot of friends and family, and were hosting a wedding celebration on a limited budget. I had worked with Seth before for a non-profit event. He was delightful and I knew that he was good because he always seems to win the Best in the Valley award. I figured that there had to be a catch- whether it was his price range or his lack of flexibility in terms of menu options. I was wrong. After meeting with four other caterers, Seth Mias Catering was our top pick for every category we identified (budget, food, menu options, availability, general style/approach to working with people). Seth and his staff are hands-down amazing! The entire process, from start to finish, was an absolute pleasure working with Seth. He was readily available to answer questions and provide feedback. Our menu was tailored to our tastes and vision for the wedding. For us, we wanted a family-style dinner created around the fall harvest. In addition, we got married at an apple orchard and wanted apples to be part of the menu theme. Unlike other steps in our wedding process, the catering piece easily came together. We met with Seth twice and our entire agreement was finalized. The day of experience went equally well, if not better. He did the catering, provided the linens, and the bartenders to serve the alcohol that we purchased (we loved this option). He staff were professional and there wasn't a single glitch in our plans. I would highly recommend Seth Mias Catering for your wedding! One thing to note is that Seth does not provide barware (e.g., wine and beer glasses). This was not an issue. Seth did the food for our wedding, which consisted of a couple of stations, a whole bunch of passed hors-d'oeuvres, and a dessert station. We are fans! Especially the passed hors-d'oeuvres were excellent, and they kept coming at a steady pace. It meant that people could mingle while eating, and that we could have the loosely organized wedding we wanted. During the evening, we already got many compliments about the food. When we selected our caterer, Seth was one of the few was able to offer us a flexible and interesting menu, while still being really affordable. Seth met up with us a couple of times during the months before the wedding, trying to figure out what kind of dinner we wanted, and thinking along with us and making suggestions on how to do the food. These meetings were very pleasant and relaxed, and we really had the feeling that Seth was listening to our broad wishes and making them work, instead of just selling us his food. This included incorporating some Dutch cheese that my husband's parents brought with them at the food stations. The only downside (if it even is one) we can think of is that we had a lot of left overs, and that MA law meant that they had to be thrown away. If we would have been a bit faster, we may have been able to save some food, but alas, we were too late. read more

Seth was great to work with, food tasted great. Unfortunately at our wedding we didn't have such a great experience with his staff. The food was cold. The salad came out and there was a 30 minute gap between the salad and the actual dinner. No one notified my wife or I that our food was on our table so by the time we got there it had started to harden. Multiple guest complaints of cold food, and when asked to just heat it up they were told the ovens weren't on and that food was prepped off site. The scallops wrapped in bacon were awful, which is such a hard thing to mess up. Some of our appetizers were great though. Seth himself was great to work with and extremely flexible. But his team failed him at our wedding. read more

Seth Mias is an absolute DREAM to work with! My husband and I recently got married at the Garden House at Look Park which requires you bring in your own caterer. Since we neither of us are from that area, we were pretty clueless on who to choose. Luckily, the venue provided some recommendations and Seth Mias was included. After reading nothing but rave reviews, we chose him and couldn't have been more happy with our choice. Seth was super helpful and responsive throughout the entire process. Any questions or concerns we had, Seth addressed them in an extremely timely manner. And the food! SO GOOD! For our wedding, we went with a cocktail hour of passed hors d'oeuvres and a buffet dinner. Let's just say our guests left filled to the brim and wouldn't stop talking about how delicious everything was. So you must be thinking, wonderful person to work with, amazing food, what about the price? By far, Seth Mias' prices are the most reasonable ones we've ever seen. For what you get in food and customer service, he could be charging twice what he does. If he did, I'd probably still recommend him because of how seamless and stress-free our experience was.
