Aside from the great price and friendly attitude, Fred also noticed that there was some rust in the mechanism restricting the movement and he cleaned it out and added lubricant without even charging me. I feel like that's standard when you get work done on anything. I just feel like it was a little scammy because they didn't have a report AND couldn't tell me how many diamonds were loose and which ones. During our visit, she spoke very confidently about the history of mining diamonds in a way that did not align with well-documented historical information we are privy to. The conversation felt dismissive of a serious subject and it made it difficult for us to feel confident moving forward with such an important purchase. When choosing a jeweler for something as meaningful as an engagement ring, trust and transparency matter a lot. While we respect that others may have different experiences, this interaction ultimately led us to continue our search elsewhere. Especially after noticing many of their negative reviews revolved around the owners daughter, this was concerning to us. I was worried they couldn't be fixed easily since they were so small. I found Ali's on Yelp and brought the necklaces on Saturday afternoon. Ali told us there was a chance the clasps could break in which case they would need to be replaced. If he could fix them, we could pick them up that evening or the next day. He texted me later that day letting me know they could be picked up the next day. The necklaces and the fixed clasps look and work great. I can hardly visibly see that they had to be fixed. The whole process with Ali was very clear and smooth and I'm really happy with his help!
