Who's the Aubergenius who came up with Baba Ganouj? Best dip ever!
    Yael D.

So I hit up this shop ISO Baba Ganouj to include as part of a melange of Middle Eastern savory treats we were bringing for dinner with our friends in Lincoln. I'd already checked a couple of the other stores on the same strip, but they felt so gloomy and their Baba didn't look enticing to me. And then I stopped in here: This compact, cheery place sucked me right in with its tempting food displays and aesthetic feel . And maybe it's psychological, but the Baba looked better to me. So I got a pound, which I think came to about $8 or so, plus a small bag of house made Pita Chips, which came to, I think, $4. Not exactly inexpensive. But am happy to report, both were great! I'm a Baba snob with a preference for smoky, smooth, and rich with tahini, and this covered all those bases. There were lots of other tantalizing looking things, but I'd already blown our budget at Eastern Lamejun Bakery. Four stars for now since I only tried a couple items. Plus the prices seemed a bit steep. That won't stop me from returning, though, the next time I'm in town. If everything else is as delicious as the Baba, am sure this is going to become a regular stop.

This store is AWESOME. I feel like a child in a candy store when I come here. Unfortunate this place closes on Sundays so I come here on Saturdays. Only street parking is available so make sure to have one or two quarters with you if you are driving. 1 quarter give you 30 minute parking, which I find it sufficient to shop. What I like there are: Russian salad Stuffed cabbage Stuffed eggplant Baklava (the classic pistachio one are the best) Beans Dolma Dried dates Baba ghanoush There are plenty of other stuff but sadly I don't remember the name of those small dishes.

I tend to get food from the salad bar and I can never leave with out a least a few baklava or other goodies.

About 6 months before your wedding, book a cake tasting to come in and try a variety of flavors, look through their designs, and customize your perfect wedding cake. 2) Flavors! Everything is super tasty and moist - no bland, dry wedding cake here. For our wedding cake, we chose a different flavor for each tier: chocolate raspberry, coconut, chocolate hazelnut, and golden raspberry. 3) Designs! They have a great variety to choose from - from traditional to modern. For ours, we went with a silver brushstrokes design on the top part of each tier, and our florist (Central Square Florist) designed cascading fresh flowers on the cake at the venue. 4) Value! Pricing for this high quality is super reasonable, and they can deliver to your venue. On top of that, if you bring in a photo of your cake after the big day, they will give you a FREE anniversary cake, any flavor (we picked carrot cake), designed like your wedding cake! This is an incredibly sweet gesture that we greatly appreciated. No need to save that top tier in your freezer - get a fresh cake, and enjoy celebrating your first year of marraige together!

There is a good amount of seating in the store and free water for customers to fill themselves which I always love. The Bacon Egg and Cheese was a wise decision and priced very very well, I would definitely recommend that! My favorite sweet was the strawberry tea cake, top class that was. The donut and banana bread were also very tasty but I didn't get to eat enough of them to feel as strongly about them as I do the strawberry tea cake. I think it's assume you can't go wrong with anything you can purchase from Butternut Bakehouse,... Enjoy! The ambiance was full of energy with friendly staff and happy customers. Would definitely recommend.

It was nice to have a more home-made version of the classic Starbucks bites and enjoy a coffee that was well balanced. On a weekend youll find an array of people from families to groups of friends, but I never saw people waiting long for seats. Adding to the neighborhood feel is their bulletin board of local ads and promotions which really adds to the community feeling of this place. The service was friendly despite being busy and moved very quickly. I would definitely come back here.

When you first walk in, it's a bit quiet and you have to wait for someone to come from the back to greet you, but be patient because once you're seated, service is attentive and available whenever you need it. There are lots of rustic-looking tables, which give it a sort of homey feel, and some tables can fit 12+, so they can definitely accommodate large groups. My colleagues always get something different, but I get the same thing every time: the grilled boneless pork shoulder and it is so good. The pork shoulder is a bit fatty and comes out juicy and flavorful from the grill - droolworthy. It comes with sauerkraut, but it's not your typical sauerkraut; it's more like a mild slaw with just enough acid to cut through the fatty pork. Also comes with your choice of side and sauce. The garlic toom is the only option in my opinion (of course, they have others), but get ready to have kickin' breath for the rest of the day. Others have gotten the lamb tongue, lentil soup, falafel, beef shawarma, borscht, pelmeni, eggplant rolls, and they have all been hits. Don't think I would ever come out of my way to this restaurant if I didn't know about it, but it's totally worth the trip!

I got the chicken, hummus, potatoes, and pita with yogurt sauce and it was pretty solid. Good flavors and very filling.
