I stayed two nights here while touring the Grand Canyon in May 2023 for about $120/night, which was not bad for being so close to the canyon. I really liked Becky who ran the hotel along with her husband. This is not some big chain hotel, but a quaint little place that charged accordingly , yet took good care of you. One thing I liked is that they used old-fashioned metal keys instead of cards with magnetic strips that often tend to not work. Another thing is that it was it within walking distance of the Grand Canyon museum and restaurants. I would definitely come here again. read more

Stopped in last week of April mid week for two nights. Loved the idea of a local joint in between two hotel chains. I called from flagstaff to make sure of availability and the owner said come on by. I checked in around 4 and and asked bout going to the rim for sunset and the owner said most definitely. Thanked her as the sunset and pic ops were amazing at the GC and it was cold but pretty empty for a sunset. The room was good size but all good amenities like a huge fridge with a nice size microwave, large flat screen TV with all the channels, Comfy large queen beds, ac/heat unit and separate counter/amenity for brushing teeth and washing up. Bathroom was smallish but not a big deal. 4-* room at 1 star price. Half the price of best west and holiday inn. They also give u 10-% off coupon at bonitas medican restaurant. The only good restaurant in town and two doors down. Btw, the motel is down the street from the rim entrance, across street from buck wild hummer tour, and is no secret as it's busy mid week as I arrived on a Tuesday. So I tried staying at a dumb place called "grand canyon cabins", it was an HOUR AWAY from the NORTH RIM which isn't even the best side, This hotel was the only thing in the area that could save me from sleeping in the car, and i'm glad i didn't. The beds are nice there's a microwave, a mini fridge. The only downside is the bathroom is like the size of an airplane bathroom but who cares? Its right next to a national park so you can crap in the woods if you really want to. If you want to go to the grand canyon but every other hotel is too expensive, this is the best place to go. Very clean, large, basic, affordable quiet rooms each with a microwave and fridge. Super laid back, kind woman at the front desk. She let us move to the second floor and gave us our choice of any of the available rooms. Also offered us a late checkout when she learned the cleaners would be late. We paid $99 total. read more

This place is awesome. I went to the Grand Canyon without booking lodging ahead thinking there would be a ton of hotels to pick from; I was wrong. Every hotel was booked but I stumbled across this little diamond that is the only place that doesn't allow online booking. I got the last room available. The room was VERY CLEAN and COMFORTABLE. Free WiFi. Microwave. Restaurants and gas station within walking distance. The receptionist was very kind and polite. She gave me a map and showed me the sights to see at the canyon. Upon learning that I'd be staying at week at the Grand Canyon, I called some of the local places to check out getting rooms to stay at. Most of the local places had been pre-booked fully up practically years ago, even the campgrounds I checked had a huge waiting list. Seriously, who pre-books a spot at a campground over a year in advance? When I called this place, they had a different idea. No pre-reservations. You just show up when they open and get a room then. So, when I arrived on a Thursday afternoon around 3:30, I saw an older lady watering the garden. She asked if she could help, and I inquired about a room. She said she'd be willing to help me in a lil bit after she finished watering. So, I waited a lil bit, and she opened up the door. I liked that the rates and all applicable rules had been posted on a bulletin board outside the front door. I entered the place, and asked if there were rooms available, and older lady said there were. I had actually spent a few hours of my day going around from hotel to hotel checking rates and availability, and this place's rate of $109 was the cheapest around by at least $25. She even knocked the price lower when I showed her my AAA Card. I reserved a room, paid the bill, and she gave me the wifi code and a big chunky key. I pulled the van around the the spot right in front of my room, and I began moving my stuff in. The room was nice. There was a big fluffy bed, a tv, a table....not many outlets though. Looks like the room hasn't been updated in a lil bit, but it was still nice, and still cheaper than any place on this road. I figured I wouldn't be here for very long, and I could charge the things I needed most. After watching The Expendables 2, I decided dinner was in order, and walked out to explore the main strip of Tusayan. After discovering super long lines and jacked up prices at the McDonald's and Wendy's, I ended up next door to the restaurant inside the Best Western Premier Grand Canyon Squire Inn. Their price for a burger was actually about what they were charging at the fast food joints. After my dinner, I drifted off to sleep, eager for a hot shower, and looking forward to picking up Schoolteacher and her hiking crew in the morning. When I got up in the morning, I discovered that the water pressure in the shower was actually pretty terrible in the room I was in. Room 12 I think? It was in the back corner of the place right by the ice machine. Hopefully they've gotten that fixed by now. But the lady was nice, the room was cheap, and the bed was soft. After being on the ground for two days, a bed was a welcome change. Should I find myself in the area again, I'll probably do the same thing. Camp for a few days, and sleep on a bed the night before the drive home. Good job Seven Mile Lodge, I'll probably be back at some point in the future. Get that water pressure thing fixed. read more

Stayed here end of June - which I'm told is slow season. We were staying in a house south of Flagstaff but we were looking for a place to stay that was close to the park so that we could do an early hike. 7 Mile Lodge is right outside the park nestled amidst the big chain hotels. It is very simple, clean, and a throwback to the 80s. They don't take reservations so it's first come first serve starting at 9am. This was no problem for us as we got a nice room after arriving around 3:30. Rate was best in town. Room is clean and has sufficient space. Wife says bed could be more comfortable. Bathroom was super tiny (hardly could fit 2 people). Staff is super friendly. Wife said it well - "Not bad for a cheap hotel". We'd recommend this to our friends if they want a cheap and simple hotel. We would also stay here again is we wanted to stay near the park on a budget. read more

We stayed on Halloween, without reservation, the front desk was friendly and we were given 2 queens room which was very nice, showed that the hotel had remodeled extensively between 2012 and 2016, bathroom on the small side but very nice and clean, the beds have good support and clean, to top it off, it was less expensive this time compared to the first visit. Would not hesitate to stay again in the future, it'll be in my favorite on Yelp! To the owners, keep up the great work! The lady at the front desk is super nice and the room was much less expensive than all the other places around! The room was very clean and it looks like they have done a lot of work on the inside of the rooms since the last time I stayed. It is a small lodge, only 20-rooms or so, and has a nice small-town vibe to it. There is a nice area to sit in the front of the hotel and the flowers and shrubbery are very pretty. We even saw an elk walking right through the parking lot of the hotel! I didn't mind not making a reservation since I read the other reviews telling me to be there at 4pm to get a room since they are first come, first served. read more

Smack in the middle of these national-chain hotels, you will find a small rustic motel that is privately owned and operated. The owner does not believe in making reservations so your change of getting a room is pretty good. There are about 15 or so rooms. Our room was $99.00 which was pretty good considering that most of the hotels in town were about $200.00. The Grand Best Western was $239.00. What?! Anyway, the room still uses regular keys. The ice machine charges you 25 cents. Our room was clean though we brought our own plastic lining and sheets. We may have been lucky because our room was in the corner and the next room was unoccupied so it was very very quiet. The lady working the front desk was also very nice to us. read more

Comfortable rooms, fridge and microwave means you can have a very affordable two nights on the doorstep to the canyon. On the quirky side the 4.00pm check-in with no pre-booking is unusual but the service is friendly and helpful. While not a 4 Star hotel it deserves 4 Stars for Price/Value/Location. My son and I were traveling cross country (Akron, OH to Long Beach, CA) and wanted a comfortable, affordable, clean and safe place to stay near the Grand Canyon for a quick side trip. Seven Mile Lodge met our expectations perfectly. It was off season so there were a ton of hotels from which we could have chosen but we didn't need all the bells and whistles they offered. Simple and basic was perfect. The beds comfortable, the shower hot and the staff friendly and hospitable. Most importantly it was close enough to the Canyon to allow for that side trip and convenient to I40 that we could get back to our journey. More importantly, it felt like the Grand Canyon should feel. Does that make any sense? The beauty is in its own simplicity, Seven Mile Lodge or the Grand Canyon. read more

I planned a last minute trip to visit the Grand Canyon with my 3 daughters. I called a few different hotels before I called this one and they were all booked and not to mention not the friendliest. I called Seven Mile Lodge as a last resort but so happy we ended up here. The woman who answered the phone was so sweet and welcoming. They had a room available, yes it was rustic but I liked it. It was extremely clean and comfortable for a fraction of the price of all the other rooms in this area. It had great parking and private rooms. I would highly recommend this place! read more

This place is AWESOME if you are hitting Grand Canyon: Early, On a Budget, or want Advice/help. Yes, the room is small and a bit dated; but it is super clean and comfortable. The bathroom is tiny, big and tall guys will have hard time using toilet or shower but it's fine and clean, and you only need it once a day (I hope!). This place shines because it is literally half the price of every other hotel around here, clean, and perfect for a tired traveler. The owner is the nicest lady that knows everything. She knows best places to go, best way in and out, and what to look for. She could tell I didn't have much planned ("winging it" at GC on way to Cali) so she said "go here, to here, take this bus, park here, go this way out, on the way out in Cameroon you need to try Navajo Tacos, and get pictures of Little Colorado river here, puts you right back on Hwy near flagstaff to Cali." Whoa. That just made our GC complete, in the nicest little hotel walking distance from a bunch of food places. Don't think the McDonalds nearby is saving $ though, it was $12 per meal--for that much try one of the nicer places nearby. read more

So we didn't plan our vacation well and needed a place to stay near the Grand Canyon. Looked up hotels on Trivago and Priceline and the prices were over $230 a night and we were only planning on staying overnight and leaving in the am. So we found this great little lodge driving by and seeing the vacancy light on. There fees were reasonable and the room was clean. Bed was comfortable. It's not fancy but it is a great deal if your looking for a quick stay. The front desk lady is nice as well. read more

Really blessed that we found this place last minute!! NOTE: they do not take phone reservations or online bookings, they're old school and you have to book a room in person. I can't believe this place got a bad review! The inn keeper is an amazingly kind lady! Sure, the room was a bit out dated (which I think is cool), but it was CLEAN. The motel was quiet, close to the canyon and did I mention the wonderful service? My boyfriend and I traveled from Chicago to L.A. and hit many stops along the way. This was both of our favorite hotel during our 7 night vacation. The rate here is the cheapest in the area and DID I MENTION THE AMAZING SERVICE? she even had a Band-Aid for me when I hurt my toe. Needed a place to stay for a few days. Just something simple and clean. Read a few reviews of this place and decided to test it out. This place does not take reservations. The office opens at 9am and then the owner takes a break mid day. There isn't a special time for you to try to check in. It all depends on how busy that weekend is. My friend and I came by around 3:30 and were lucky to have found a room. Vacancies are inconsistent . However once we checked in we found a clean bed, microwave and small fridge. The rooms have basic service and wifi although it works isn't that strong to download movies. The sell is the owner. She's very knowledgable of the area and has done a lot of hikes so if you're an experienced hiker she can point you to some fun hikes out of the way from most tourists. read more

Stayed here for 1 night 3 nights ago. Paid $110 for the night. We got there late and left early. Honestly this motel was not my cup of tea. I felt like u was going to get murdered. Sheets were stained. Original carpet from when it was built, smelt extremely musty. I was glad to have gotten out of the room as quickly as possible. Bed and pillows were uncomfortable. The reason I'm not giving it one star is bc the people there were extremely nice and they took us in so late. Other then that I would never stay there again. read more
