I came here for apple picking with my family. The place was larger than I expected. They had an apple orchard, pumpkin patch, sunflower fields, vegetable fields, berry fields, corn maze, kid's area, and hayride. They had many varieties of apples including honeycrisp, ginger gold, mutsu, etc. except not much Fuji. However, their pricing was a bit confusing to understand. It was $54.99 (cash) for 1/2 bushel of apples (45-55 apples) at the cashier. Their apples were large and juicy but it was definitely not 45-55 apples. I would say it's about 35-40 large apples or about 20 pounds so it's about $2.75/lb which is pretty pricey. I would rather go to upstate NY or NJ for better prices. read more

The older man & woman running the place & were standing at the entrance to the orchard collecting money were rude & condescending. None of us wanted an entire bag of apples. 3-4 each is what is our norm which used to be weighed at the front & we were charged for what was picked. We have been coming to this location for 20+ years & now they are pre-charging $34.95 for a bag of apples. We were more interested in photo ops (the school bus picture is a tradition) & purchasing their homemade goods. They were so rude & off-putting that we turned around & left without spending a dime. Instead we went to Wolffer & had a ball. There are too many other apple picking options around town. Skip Seven Ponds Orchard. They don't want, need or appreciate your business. read more

I had a great experience here. It was a girls day with my surrogate niece and her mom. We went to pick apples and got sunflowers and a pumpkin too !!! They had tons of apples which I was concerned about cause another friend went to another orchard and they had nothing. I didn't totally like that the thing you bought to pick was your admission in but it was okay not a deal breaker. For 14.99 for the Apple bag and 7.99 we were able to cut 5 stalks of sunflowers. The kid section for them to play was another 12 bucks it had a corn maze a bunch of slides little "hay" ride, mining for rock or gems , and some cycling cart. It was nice my niece had a blast. The market was pretty good. We had the cider slush from the food stand that was so nice a refreshing not syrupy or overly sweet. Bag of popcorn for 5 bucks was kinda steep as it wasn't. that big but it was fresh and tasty. Overall great time ! FYI only porta potties so drink the slushie responsibly. read more

I love farmer markets there! A good spot to get some vegetables before heading into Sag, We bought some lettuce, tomatoes, and corn. There is a pumpkin patch or apple picking spot suitable for kids on the left of the farm stand building. I did see a number of kids enjoying the area. Wife and I had a lovely experience at Seven Ponds. We came in the shoulder season, late June / early July, and picked raspberries, and sugar-snap peas. I don't know what I was expecting. The farm wasn't crowded, and it was hot as heck. Neither of these things were in the control of Seven Ponds, though. There were plenty of peas to pick, and raspberries, too. Because they planted a bunch? I don't know what to say here, I guess if you're in the area in early summer and want to do pick-your-own, Seven Ponds will hook you up with no hassle. Took a ride out east to enjoy some blueberry picking. When we arrive we asked Ethan how it works cost and all. He showed us a display on the wall and told us about the different options. We asked him about the blueberries he said no blueberries(they were posted) only blackberries and raspberry's then we asked about the zucchini which was also posted, and he said, no zucchini only (whatever items mentioned previously). And then said "what I told you 2 times already". Are you kidding me. That's how you answer a customer? 2 people where in the store and didn't look like anyone in the field. Did we bother him during his busy day. I enjoyed the nice ride out east but refused to give my business to someone like that. When we walked out I said "customer service goes a long way. No reason to be so nasty". Lost our business. Not only did the signs mention blueberries and zucchini but so did the recording on the phone. After reading some reviews and then going to this place anyway, I've decided this place gets a bad rap. When we got there I remembered I had been there about 6 years ago with a group of coworkers and we had a blast. Disclaimer...we don't have kids, so we simply don't care about the playground. We just wanted to go apple picking and get some cider donuts. To our pleasant surprise they had a field for pumpkin picking, sunflower cutting, green beans for picking, and raspberries. A true one stop shop for us, score!!! People have been complaining about the cost, but I honestly picked such a big pumpkin and 5 gourds thinking it would be expensive and it was only $33 including a bag of four cider donuts. The bags for apples are pretty standard and you can jam a good amount in there. You would pay way more in the grocery store and these are so fresh, what's the big deal ‍ They also had a great selection and you can find out what's available by calling and listening to the recorded message. This year was rough for farms. Some have shut down their operations after losing much of their crops due to this summers weather, they must be doing something right. Even though it was drizzling and our shoes got wet we had a great time strolling through the fields and one of my fall bucket list items got checked as I pulled a beautiful pumpkin right off the stem. This is becoming a fall tradition for my new husband and I as he loves how fresh the apples are, and I can see this being our go to place. Of note, we traveled out there from Nassau County on a Sunday and arrived around 10:40. We saw MANY police cars and Troopers looking for speeders. Be careful, if you think the apples are expensive, save yourself a speeding ticket and blend with traffic. We also experienced no traffic and arrived just before the crowds. We decided to come here this year versus upstate due to COVID. I liked the array of picking options from eggplant to the famous apples. I was not impressed with their small variety of apples. The owner was a little abrasive and after parking the car there was no real direction as to where to begin picking. The young cashier was very nice and explained everything to me in detail. I appreciate that it was open on a Wednesday and there fees are pay as you pick versus paying for an entrance fee. Overall, we had a great day at Seven Ponds Orchard. read more

We went on a Saturday. It was pretty crowded at the barn store (where you purchase food and picked produce as well as purchase admission to the orchard) but once out in the u-pick orchards, it was easy to social distance. Tomatoes, raspberries and a variety of apples were available and the we got a good haul. Pumpkins are also ready to pick. Blueberries, blackberries, and eggplant were supposedly available, but basically couldn't find any ripe ones. Only the cherry tomatoes were ripe (they are delicious) and the regular tomatoes were well past their prime and rotting on the vine. To get in: You can choose to buy a large bag for only apples at $28 which admits 4 people, or you can choose to get the $14 smaller apple bag (admits 2), or a small basket for veggies for $7 (admits 1) or a small basket for berries for $8 (admits 1). So basically a family of four is looking at something like $28-ish for admission into the u-pick areas. Whatever fits in the containers you paid for is what you can haul out. We went around 12:30pm and finished picking around 1:30 or 2, so it was peak time. Lots of families and kids, but everyone had a mask on. No apple cider donuts left at the store, only a couple of pies too :( Only corn, hot dogs, chips and drinks were left at the concession. So the lesson is to go early if you want to buy donuts and pies. They take cash and credit cards, but cash is much easier to deal with there. There is an outdoor picnic area with a few tables but not a lot of seating overall for the crowd that was there today. There are portable potty stalls set up for restrooms. The kids' play area (includes corn maze, tractor rides and the kiddie cow ride) is a separate admission. Adults and children need to purchase admission at $12 a head. A bit steep, but the kids had fun. Pretty fun place. A family with small children could spend hours here easily. read more

This was my first experience picking the berries and for sure it was really nice. The berries were so fresh and looked like they were on "steroids" lol. Especially the Blackberries! The Blueberries were also big, the same like buying the Jumbo Blueberries from the store. It was also family owned and they were all very nice, the father, son and daughter. Upon arriving you see the nice spacious farm stand they have which they offer cakes, fruits, vegetables, some hot stuff, raw honey, homemade jams. I highly recommend checking this place out. I'm so glad I didn't pay much attention to the negative reviews because we had a great time. We went on a Monday, so it was quiet and not crowded at all. Staff was pleasant. There are 2 options for Apple picking: a small and large bag. The small bag was $22 and the large $44. Paying the small fee admits 4 people. So it's a good price in my opinion. The small bag looks deceiving, but it fits bout 2 dozen good sized apples. Really worth it. Also, I was pleased the orchard was literally a few steps from entering the market. No need to travel far to the orchard. The orchard is not massive, but big enough. They however only had three kinds of apples available for picking; Macintosh, Ginger golf and Gala. I'd definitely go back when other apples are ready for picking. read more

It's pretty pricy for apple picking, I have to say. We purchased a $40 bag for our family(2 adults and two toddlers). They also offer a $20 option for the bag, which is approximately half the size of the $40 one. The tree is pretty low, which is good for us. I especially love their playground. Great design! Seven Ponds Orchard was overpriced, their selection was limited and the staff was less than friendly. One of the biggest downfalls is their no bag policy. There are signs indicating bags aren't allowed but not until you arrive at the u-pick counter. Those signs are great for alerting everyone that most vehicles parked in the vicinity have valuables in them because honestly how much can you fit in your pockets? I witnessed an employee chase after a women who had a bag that a single apple wouldn't even fit in. $40 for a bag of apples is a bit on the steep side, even for the South Fork. Additionally, their "roasted" corn seems to be just simply boiled. Overall a pretty disappointing experience. read more

Just got back from the orchard and have to say it was a pleasant apple picking experience. No long walk to the orchard (it's right next to the parking lot), no waiting for a hayride to take us to the orchard, not too many people and lots of good apples in stock- probably because the season is just starting. Our favorite today was the gala- crisp and tart. Price is $20/10 lb bag or $40/20 lb bag. Not bad in my opinion. Same as supermarket but I'm paying for the experience and also knowing they were fresh picked same day as I'm eating them. There were other pick your own today: cherry tomatoes and berries but didn't pick these. The only negatives were that it's super far out east on Long Island - there are closer farms to nyc- this one is all the way in southhamptons where you have to go through a lot of local roads to get to so it takes a lot of time. Also, lady behind the counter was not friendly or helpful. I asked about the eggs because I came to a farm and I wanted to buy eggs- are they pasture raised or organic? If so I would have bought a few dozen but she just looked at me and said she would find out (not nicely) and then pretended I never asked and never found out. And no she was not busy - we were the only ones there at that time by the counter. I also bought a couple dozen corn- I didn't count them because my two kids were helping me stack them in the bag. They are not old enough to count. I just brought them to the front to pay and she looked very annoyed that I hadn't counted them. If there was a line of people I would of course totally understand but we were the only ones there. What's the big deal about counting the corn while I try to keep my two small tots under control? I wanted to buy more things- I mean it was a far trip for me and I wanted to make my trip worthwhile by stocking up on farm fresh goods for friends and family but her attitude made me want to just leave. There was a man who also worked there and he was very nice and friendly (helping my family load our apples on a wagon, etc) but once he was gone she was the only one left so I jetted on out. read more

This was one of the best apple picking experiences I've ever had. Certain members of my group are autistic or learning disabled and we needed a lot of assistance planning our trip and they were happy to oblige! I must have been messaging with them for at least a week leading up to the trip and not once did I get the feeling that I was bothering them or like they were getting frustrated. Horrible experience. We were greeted by a grouchy old man who demanded we pay for 2 large bags for a family of 4. He made no eye contact with us while speaking but with a rude tone refused to let us pay for small bags. To top it off, on our departure we saw a family of 5 with only 1 large bag. This was such a disgusting experience upon arrival , making it hard to enjoy the experience. There was nothing flashy about this place that stood out. Just a horrible old man to greet you. I liked the fruit farm, you can pick your own apples, raspberries, blueberries, tomato (the small ones are the best!), egg plant, and sunflowers (they are sooo pretty). Do pick the sunflowers from the farm, because its only $0.90 each, and they are huge and beautiful! However, as much as I liked the farm, the owner (or staff, im not sure) had a nasty attitude, first off, I do not recommend this place for big groups, they charge $5 per head for picking fruits, I went to hamptons with my friends and coincidentally saw my neighbors (6 of them) when we were having breakfast, so we told them we'd go fruit picking and they wanted to follow our car and check the place out. I explained to the fruit farm staff that we WERE NOT in the same group, he says that any group bigger than 10 needs to pay $5 per person, so I said again, we're not in the same group so he let us in. We then hung around, taking time to take pictures while some of us pick fruits. We walked to the most inner area and slowly make our way back out, as we walked towards the apple section (which was close to the exit/entrance) the same guy walks over to us and checks to see how much fruits we've picked. He also said (with nasty attitude) that we spent a hour inside but didn't have much fruits in the bags and that he'd be losing money if everyone was like us, just eating and buying nothing.... I was very offended by that comment!!! Some of my friends didn't buy anything because they didnt enjoy fruit picking so they just tagged along and chatted/took pictures while others picked fruits. And a few of my friends only wanted apples so that was the last stop we were making, needless to say, we were not going to pick the apples anymore as all of us were furious and offended. What a jerk! To summarize: Beautiful farm, but the nasty guy ruined our whole experience. If you have a big group, split up and go in at a different time and avoid the $5 fee. Pick sunflowers. read more

Let me start by saying that the apples are really, really good here. Unlike some other farms in the area, there is a large range of apples (mitsu, cortland, mcintosh, granny smith, golden delicious, red delicious, honey crisp, and more). Most of the apples are on the trees and very few are on the floor. And there are PLENTY. Considering Seven Ponds is primarily an apple farm, growing good apples scores lots of points. But that's about where it ends. Unlike the majority of the other PYO apple orchards in the area, Seven pounds charges by the pound. At a $1.89/lb, a bushel of apples runs you about 45 bucks. This is probably the MOST expensive out of all the farms in the area, which range from 10-40 per bag, no matter how many you stuff in. The apples are good, and plentiful, but they aren't made of gold. You'd think that the high prices would keep the crowds away (our hope). But no, cars were parked up to a mile down the road. While the apple orchards themselves were curiously empty, the playground, pumpkin patch, and store were teeming with families and their children aged 0-5. Beware of the rules as well: no bags - not even small purses or diaper bags, and no cameras. I can sort of understand the no bag rule (but if they didn't charge by the pound then there wouldn't be any issues) but no cameras?? So silly. Overall the experience was still fun and the weather and scenery was beautiful. However, the day was nearly ruined when we had to wait on a line for one hour (not exaggerating) to pay for our apples. There were two cashiers serving 400+ people at a time. More ridiculousness? $8 per person (baby or adult) for a 5 minute "hay ride" in a circle. $3.75 for a mini cup of apple cider. 3 porta potties for the entire farm. I liked that it wasn't too busy and you could by a $20 bag to pick apples vs only being able to by a $40 bag for apple picking like at The Milk Pail. These are apples not diamonds... I did feel like they treat every customer like a criminal. We were not allowed to bring our diaper bags or purses into the orchard for fear we would take extra apples. There is absolutely no eating apples either. They're apples! Kids want to eat them... You also have to pay an additional cost of $8 per head (child or adult) to enter the playground. My new favorite place for fall festivities! It has everything that you could want to get you right into the fall spirit. Let me start with the apple picking. You pay before you pick the apples either $20 for a smaller bag or $40 for the larger size. Either way you're going to have TONS of crisp apples. They have a decent sized orchard with at least 5 different kinds of apples to pick. They also have veggies and other fruits you can pick...eggplant, peas, pumpkins, squash, raspberries, and others I can't remember. They also had a section gated off that included a hay ride, corn maze, and play area for kids. This area was $8\person. Definitely worth it! My nephew loved it. Even though this orchard is kinda far from us, I would most definitely be back next year. read more

From the road, it beckons. A playground! Pick your own berries or just buy them! Ample parking! Inside, the playground toys are out of order (no cars for the derby car track, e.g.), but lots of signs saying "DON'T CLIMB ON THE ____." Staff is not rude, just unfriendly. Oh, and lots of New Jersey plates in the lot. I'm sure it's hard to run a farm stand in the Hamptons. So many entitled jerks...but better to remember that you get to work in the sun and soil. I don't understand all the reviews about being overpriced .. yes the playground is $8 per person including adults but that's because it's a package deal and includes the corn maze and hay ride as well ... most places I have been to charge per attraction, so personally I think the prices are great .. only $20 for a really good size bag of apples and they have so many to choose from! The snacks, hot dog, corn, baked potato are only $3 a piece! The pies are amazing (I bought some for family too) and were 1/2 the price of the grocery store. This year was the 1st time our family went to Seven Ponds and it will be the last. No purses or bags, no matter how small (i.e. wristlet) so you have to carry/pocket your phones, wallets, asthma pumps, baby bottles, etc. The cost is $20/per bag (10 lbs.) or group of 4. 2 couples with a five year old each? Well, those 5 yr Olds are counted, so you have to buy 2 bags. Want to let your 5 year old play in the corn maze playground (really a nice touch)? Well, the kid is not allowed in without a parent (which is fine) who must also pay $8. So, the the parents pay $24 for that unlimited play. read more

How should I put it? Plain rudeness, from the minute we arrived, one of the "workers" runs the place like if it were a military base. You are not allowed to bring your small purse with you on to the orchard, it is believed that you will steal apples! You pay $20 for a very small bag, and forget about the raspberry fields, none available although they claim to have some, and by 1pm they were out of apple cider donuts and pumpkin bread, barely had any baked goods left. The worker named "Robin" out stands in the most rudeness of ways. My nephew got on their tractor while parked thinking it was an attraction like everything else there is,she came charging at him and yelling to get off it as if he was committing a crime! He is a seven year old who got scared to death by this woman! Her lack of tactfullness and manners shows just the kind of place is runned there. We came here for apple picking and it was such a pleasant experience. We got the larger bag, which is a 1/2 bushel for $40. It was late in the season, but there were still so many apples left on the trees. The people were welcoming and helpful. The facility is clean and wasn't too crowded. The apple cider donuts were baked that day and still warm. They were so delicious. They also serve cider and roasted corn. It was easy to get to also.
