I really wanted to like this office. I went to her with an open mind and heart. She came up with a serious treatment plan that cost over 12,000 dollars out of pocket. Then wanted to start with a deep cleaning around 1400 dollars. I had the deep cleaning and 2 months later I have the same problem. They are not clear on their pricing and are a little shady. I thought the total was $1300 something and signed off. Turns out 2 months later they send a bill saying I'm behind 60 days on over for $450. They definitely are doing some kind of billing scam. Because I would NEVER agree to over 1700 dollars for a cleaning out of pocket. The $1300 was a fortune for me. Initially they sent me a bill that didn't even include all of my payments. I had to send them my bank checking account screen shots of all that I had paid. They showed me that I had only paid $ 100 and then another $576. But I had paid them three payments of $100, $576, and $350. They had given me a credit of 261.21 in discounts. So you can see why when I was charged the $350 on my cleaning day I was led to believe that was the total balance paid in full. Or why not ask for more money that day? I would have paid it then. Most I should owe is $95 dollars, but they are reporting that I owe about 450.00 still. They just bumped up the total price after I caught them not remembering my payment of $350 and it took them 2 months to get back to me about the billing error. So now it's not 1300 something that I agreed to , but 1732 that i agreed to. Very shady. They don't take my insurance either, which is why I paid out of pocket to treat an tooth abscess. I went to her for help , serious help to preserve my life. I'm out of a thousand dollars and I still have the same problem. I cried in the office and I'm crying now but mostly angry. I threw a thousand dollars away on nothing. So I'm certainly glad that I didn't take out a loan to pay her the 12,000 that she wanted to do more work. four crowns and 2 fill ins. Something aint right. My recommendation is to stay away from her offices if you are poor, working poor, middle class. She is only for the rich who can throw money away on overpriced services. She is definitely NOT a servant of the people or God. Absolutely run, don't walk away from this place! I am an employee of the federal government, and I have fantastic insurance. Turns out Sever Star doesn't take my insurance... which is completely fine. The problem is the scam they run to still get money from people. I called to make an appointment and gave them my insurance information over the phone. I showed up for my appointment, filled out MORE forms about my insure, and sat in the lobby for 15 mins. Then I took a 30 minute tour of the entire office, and shown all the equipment. During ALL OF THIS TIME no one informed me that they didn't take my insurance. Instead they sat me in an X-ray chair and proceeded to take films of my teeth. FINALLY, after they performed a task they could bill me for, they sat me down in a room to make future appointments and let me know in a fancy PowerPoint what the bill would be. So they clearly knew all along that they didn't take my insurance, but decided to troll me into services that I didn't need or request BEFORE telling me that I'd have to pay out of pocket. It's just a straight up scam, no other way around it. If you're already paying out of pocket and you don't mind overpaying, then there's definitely nothing wrong with Seven Star. I hope you enjoy your experience. However, if you DO have insurance... and would like to use it without being trolled and scammed out of your money then go find one of the other 1000 dentists in the area. read more

The office decor draws you in. Wearing hardware in my mouth for a few years has been the true test. After seeing other dentists and all of them having the same reaction about the unsatisfactory and substandard work that was completed is unbelievable. Knowing that the hardware that was put in has failed due to Dr. Bustamante's quality of work. I would not recommend this place. Do not let the alluring decor of the place fool you. Love Dr. Bustamante! I have been going here for almost 2 years now and loved seeing Dr. B every time. I waited to write the review because I wanted to make sure my visits at Seven Star Dental are consistent, because changing a dentist is a big deal! Dr. B made me feel right at home every time I go to see her and she was very honest with my dental progress and what she sees. I have had a sneaky suspicion that I grind my teeth at night and after a couple visits with Dr. B, she added that that's what her concern as well and recommended me to get a bite guard. My previous dentists had also recommended me for bite guard, but I have been putting it off because what they quoted me were astronomical (from 2 different dentists; also, whatever they recommended was not covered by insurance either). When Dr. B suggested bite guard, I was expecting the same-ish number, but decided that I was gonna get it anyway since I could physically feel my teeth and gum issue deteriorating. To my surprise, her quote was actually 1/4 of what the other dentists quoted me (and whatever she quoted was covered by insurance), so my out of pocket cost actually ended up being 1/10 of what the other places quoted me! Dr. B also has a very good memory and remembers everything I told her. She made me feel like she really does try to get to know me and I really appreciate that. I had an amazing experience! Coming from someone with pretty bad/weak teeth I knew coming in I'd have a lot of things to fix--which brought me a lot of anxiety. Right when you walk in the ambience is calming like a spa--and the ladies at the front were very helpful! After my consultation they talked me through everything that would need done and reassured me that I was well taken care of! I stayed to get a cleaning done since I was overdue for one. I was very nervous about finding a new dentist because my last one was very rude and straight forward but I felt completely taken care of and listened to by the ENTIRE staff. The ladies here really know how to make you feel special and make you comfortable, while also setting you on a path to your dental goals. ZERO STARS. Had to bring my 8 year old child with me for a cleaning due school delays related to Covid. Asked when I confirmed with the office if this would be a problem and was told it was fine. During my visit Dr. Busamante came and removed my child from my exam room while my teeth were being cleaned and took him to a room in the back and asked him to stay there alone. After stating I was uncomfortable with this he was returned and I asked him to sit in a chair in the corner. When she came in to complete my exam, she asked him to get up and stand with his back against the wall and be still. The hygenist was talking to my child during the cleaning to help keep him entertained, and there was laughing and giggling. If this was a problem and things were too loud, I feel there were much better ways to address this concern, such asking us to keep the volume down vs attempting to separate me from my son. I also feel the treatment plans recommended by this practice are too aggressive. I plan to seek a second opinion on a recommended root canal and crown. The tooth in question has a filling in it that is in good shape and does not bother me at all. So it's confusing to me why a root canal and crown would be suggested at this point. In my opinion, grinding down all the enamel on my tooth and covering what's left with something artificial that likely has a reduced life span in comparison with the original tooth is insensible. Especially when there is no pain or other symptoms to suggest it's necessary. read more

The average person would rather be audited daily by the IRS or speak in front of a crowd before going to the dentist. Seven Star Dental understands this and overcomes dental phobia by providing excellent customer service and highly skilled dental hygienists and support staff. Oh, and the Yelp checkin offer doesn't hurt either. I have had my teeth cleaned here twice and both visits have been excellent. The email reminder confirmations make sure I arrive on time. The front desk staff are helpful and patient with many questions about insurance coverage and other miscellaneous items. The hygienists are friendly and highly skilled at cleaning even the most difficult teeth. Their equipment is state of the art as well. Oh, and did I mention that upon sitting in the dental chair the hygienist hands you a remote to the Roku to control the Pandora radio station playing in the room. Whaaat?! This most recent visit I waited for less than 2 minutes before I was whisked away for my cleaning. I didn't even have time to check in on the Yelp app or check social media. Ha! I wish doctors offices and DMVs would be that efficient. When leaving, one is handed a goodie bag with several useful items and is a nice branded way for SSD to give you something to remind you about their excellent business. I'll be back :) P.S. The biggest disclaimer if there ever was a disclaimer- I am the WORST dental patient you can ever imagine. Temperature sensitivity, an aversion to novocaine and lidocaine accompanied with sensitive nerves, dental anxiety, and a busy work schedule sum me up pretty well. Dentists just love me, ha! However, that might add even more substance to this statement: Dr. Battier and her staff are the kindest, most intelligent, accommodating and caring staff I have ever had the pleasure of gracing my pearly whites. A friend from work recommended Seven Star Dental. She lives/works downtown and everything in her life is chic. Go figure, even her dental office would be amazing! I loved the idea of being able to get my twice a year cleaning done over my lunch hour. I called, made an appointment and was set. When I met the staff for my appointment I knew I was with a different level of dentistry. They were cheerful, pleasant, and took time to get to know me. (They might have even had matching hair accessories.) They showed me around the office. The calm colors, clean lines and modern decorations gave the feeling of being in a spa. I was really impressed after my consultation though. The technology they use is top of the line. They took pictures and measurements of my teeth and spacing, pulled up x-Rays in from of me on my own screen to explain things, and answered any and all questions I had. After I met with Dr. Battier I was taken to the payment office. No one loves to pay, but I loved how they had matched up the cost with what my insurance would cover. I knew down to the penny how much each treatment plan would cost for me out of pocket and was able to schedule accordingly. I had to have a crown done and the most appealing part was their 3D printer they have on sight. That means no temporary, I could walk out and not return for my next 6 month cleaning. One Bridget Jones' Diary and a Netflix show later, I was done! How many other offices email you on their vacation to see how you are doing afterwards? This one does. TLDR: If you leave a mediocre review about them, Dr. Bustamante will CANCEL you as a customer and you'll have to find a new dentist. I liked them at first. Convenient location downtown, friendly staff, decent membership plan, and I was happy with the treatment I received, up until January. I had my third appointment scheduled with them for early February, 2021. This appointment was scheduled in September 2020. I got a call a week before the appointment saying that they had to reschedule the appointment because they were operating on limited hours. I wasn't happy that they waited until the week before the appointment to push my appointment back 6 WEEKS LATER, and there was no sooner appointment they could find me. I posted a negative review online that day. A few days later, I get a call from one of the assistants asking about the review and telling me about the reason for the rescheduling being due to Dr. Bustamante's husband's death, which I didn't realize. Feeling bad for Dr. Bustamante, I removed the negative and review the same day, and adjusted my review on google to give them 3/5 stars, explaining the situation, which I was still less than thrilled about how they handled. I was hoping they would try to call to get me in a earlier for a cancellation. If they had, I would have gone back and adjusted it to 5 stars. I got a letter in the mail from Dr. Bustamante, ending our patient-provider relationship, saying I'd need to find a new dentist. I was paying for their Kleer membership. My last appointment was in October, 2020. I paid the plan November, December, and January with an appointment scheduled in February. Dr. Bustamante refused to refund the 3 months of plan I paid for but did not receive service after she canceled my appointment. read more

Never in my life have I been as comfortable, welcome, and catered to in any dental office or medical office for that matter. Scheduling was a breeze and I received several reminders via text about my appointment. Walking in the door, I was immediately greeted by EVERYONE behind the desk including a hand shake. I was offered water or coffee to warm up. While waiting (very short wait), several people checked up on me. When I was taken back, the assistant have me a tour and sat me down to get to know me and go over my medical history. Everyone bent over backwards to make me feel comfortable and help me understand every step. The exam rooms are clean and top of the line with a TV where you can choose Netflix or music to stream. I had to have a pretty intensive procedure, and they were very transparent about how much it would cost, the pros and cons, and how long it would take. Everyone I interacted with was kind and friendly, especially Dr. Battier, who is the least terrifying dentist I've met (and I don't like dentists). What's really striking is how hard they've worked to make going to the dentist an enjoyable experience. They've installed movable TVs in every room with Netflix, and they provide ear buds. I normally loathe the dentist. It gives me such anxiety, you're stuck in a chair for an hour hearing nothing but your teeth being scraped at and drilled into while awkwardly staring at your dentists face. But this dental experience was so far from the norm, everyone was so nice and hospitable, even the decor wasn't the usual stale and stuffy environment that you see at normal dental offices. I sat getting my cavity filled and watched Netflix the entire time, it completely took me away from the dreaded drilling and I actually at one point compared it to a spa for me teeth to my friends. This has got to be the best dentist's office in the world. I was never a keep-up-with-the-oral-hygiene type, but I'd always gone to the dentist, like, consistently, but the minimum amount necessary. It never felt like there was much point. Like, you go, you maybe have a cavity, they fill it later, we all move on, you go back when you absolutely have to. This is the first time I've ever gone to the dentist and they were like, ok, we're going to take a full look at every part of your mouth, starting from square one as if no one had ever tended to it before, and then we're going to tell you what kind of shape you're in, tell you what problems you have, and give you a road map from where you are to where you need to be to have as healthy a mouth as you can. So they do that - a bunch of x-rays (included in the cost of the initial consult, if I recall correctly), go over all your teeth and all the improvements that could be made. They develop a treatment plan proposal, including ACCURATE quotes for (1) total cost, (2) amount covered by your actual insurance, (3) total out-of-pocket cost for each service, each appointment, and the full course of treatment. They discovered what I'd already suspected - I'd had some crappy dental work (mainly cheap, poorly fitted fillings) on a number of molars. They were all coming loose and the whole thing was a mess. Not surprising - like I said, I'd never gone to any dentist that had given me any real confidence they had a plan, and so I just didn't go to the dentist much. The dentists I went to were cheap. So they laid out a plan for the course of like 18 months (scheduled around my insurance limits to minimize my out-of-pocket expenses) and we got started. I just had four teeth basically gutted and re-filled today, and this is the first time in years that these teeth have felt normal, like as if they're as useful, healthy and reliable as the teeth that had never had cavities. Next steps will be caps, a thorough cleaning and stain removal (lotta plaque, lotta coffee and red wine, not much flossing) and a cancer screening (I smoke cigars). Even if this practice weren't orders of magnitude better than any other I'd ever been to (and it is) this would still be the best dental practice I've ever seen. First of all, their facilities are IMMACULATE - this is the cleanest office of any kind I have ever seen. Second, their prices are eminently reasonable, despite this whole thing being like some sort of luxury spa-like setting. Third, everybody there is just noticeably friendly and nice, without being ingratiating. After my first appointment, they all remembered me and called me by my first name. They offer you cookies, water, soft drinks, juice, coffee or tea at your leisure in their waiting room. All of their consultation rooms have a Roku, so you can watch Netflix or Hulu or ESPN or just listen to Pandora while you're having your work done. They humored me while I put on a whole set of Guns 'n' Roses while I got my rebuilds done. They bake homemade cookies IN THE OFFICE. That's a REAL thing they do. Their bathroom looks like it belongs in a luxury hotel. They have the most interesting sink I've ever used. And I'll be honest - and here I will stop to re-emphasize that every member of the staff exudes competence and professionalism, and that the biggest, first, and last impression anyone in that office will get from these people is that they're clearly on top of everything, very skilled and thorough and great at what they do. BUT - that being said - I would remiss if I didn't note that it doesn't hurt at all that pretty much every single employee there is young, female, and gorgeous. Some of their patient counselors and hygienists look like they ought to be making their living modeling instead of rooting around inside my mouth and being like over-the-top nice to me. It's crazy. My wife recommended I go to this place or UC Dental (we're new to Cincy). I called UC dental thinking Seven Star was probably a little more expensive than necessary. I got a voicemail there informing me that they couldn't come to the phone (this was like 2:30 on a WEDNESDAY) but if I left a message, they would - and I am not making this up - "try" to call me back "in about three business days." Imagine my level of faith that they'd follow up, have an appointment, or even take the time to do a good job. Maybe they would've. But I gave this place a shot instead. My wife had said, amused, "someone on Yelp actually called this place a 'life-changing experience.'" So, of course, when I got out of my first consult, wifey asked "so, was it a LIFE-CHANGING experience?" tongue-in-cheek. I was like, "You know what? As crazy as this sounds, it kind of was." Because now I feel like my dentists know exactly what they're doing, will do every job right, have a big-picture plan. So, now I'm going to go to the dentist regularly and take care of my teeth - and you know what? That kind of DOES change your life a little. read more

I went here the first time and really liked the place, it was the only place that my insurance covered that had good reviews. I went there again 6 months later and they told me I needed a crown, and to get my 3 fillings redone because they were old. 6 months after that I was able to go back to my old dentist that I've had pretty much my whole life. I told them what seven star said and they looked at me like I was nuts. I definitely did not need a crown, and my fillings should last me a lot longer and do not need to be replaced anytime soon. Every time you get your fillings replaced you lose more of your tooth. I really think seven star just wants money for unnecessary procedures, don't care if they are sawing down your teeth more for no reason. read more

What a GREAT experience! After several co workers of mine raved about this dental office, I decided I had to give it a try - I am mean who honestly can rave about the dentist? Well, much to my surprise this place was amazing. First, it's clean and well kept. You are welcomed with enthusiasm and immediately given a tour of the office. Then, you sit down in a conference room where you talk to one of the girls simpy about who you are, where you're from, and what is bringing into the office, whether it be a check -up, cleaning, cosmetic, or if something is bothering you. Then you go on with your appointment - Dara was my hygenist and she was a doll and GENTLE. After that they take you into a private room to talk about billing and maps out what insurance will pay and what you will pay. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. Last went to 7 star dental in November of last year (will be going again this spring for cleaning) and had a cavity filled and a great cleaning. It's a great office with a great Dr. and a really good support staff. The communicate great with the patient, are clear and open about the problems they find and are pro-active in dealing with insurance and billing. I can say that with this last cleaning I have had very little build-up on my teeth which was very different with the last two clinics I have visited. I attribute this to getting a thorough and complete cleaning by the DENTIST or a VERY highly trained and capable hygenist. This dental clinic is a jewel in the rough compared to the two other clinics I have been to in the Cincinnati area. Both my wife and I are professionals (D.V.M. and Ph.D. who work in businesses with service-based requirements) and I can say with authority that this clinic excels at addressing the needs of their patients. -update--Went again this spring (2015) and if I could increase my rating, I would. Buyer Beware - this is not the same practice. I was very happy going to Seven Star Dental when it was under Dr. Battier. Dr. Bustamante has now taken over Seven Star Dental. The prior dentist gave me a veneer on my eye tooth that she had to file down because it was bulky in my mouth causing the porcelain to come off. She said she had to order a glaze to restore the finish. She then passed away suddenly. Every visit after that, I asked when they would get the glaze. The techs kept saying they didn't know what to order and would investigate. Now Dr.Bustamante takes over the practice and says there is no such product. I paid $793 for the veneer. She said she would replace it for a discount of $500. This is unacceptable. I will not pay $1300 for one tooth! She should honor the mistakes made by her predessor if she has kept the business name!! Absolutely the best practice in Cincinnati. First to make you feel more comfortable you can watch Netflix, listen to Pandora, anything you want on the roku. I was also offered heated massage seats and chapstick before my cleaning. I can honestly say that Seven Star Dental treats you like you are the MOST important person they have ever met. The friendliness of the office staff is unparalleled to any dentist I have ever been to. From the moment I walked into the contemporary and comforting waiting lounge I was at ease. The virtual fish tank and the wonderful classical music playing makes you feel that you have entered an establishment you want to spend time in. The welcoming and soothing tone you are greeted with allows you to release your anxieties about visiting a dentist. I absolutely LOVE how you are taken into a comforting conference room to have a 1 on 1 with a staff member. They want to know about your past experiences and about you. They want you to ask questions about what you are expecting. You really feel like you are coming into a place where friends will take care of you. The professionalism of Dr. Battier is amazing. She talks to you and makes sure you understand what is going on. If at anytime you have a question, she will stop and TALK to you. She wants you to be comfortable and feel good about what is happening. After your consult you get to meet with Jeremy. He is a TRUE advocate for making sure you get the most out of your insurance plan. He is someone that you realize is on your side. Not on the side of the insurance company. Being a college student in Cincinnati who is originally from Cleveland, I was nervous to try to find a dentist down here to start visiting. A google search lead me to Seven Star Dental and I nervously scheduled my appointment, not knowing what to expect despite the rave reviews. Well, the reviews certainly do not lie! Never in my life have I left a dentist's office smiling and in a great mood until I came here. This is hands down the nicest dentist office I have ever been to in terms of both the people and the environment. The second I walked in the door, I was given a warm greeting by the woman at the front desk and immediately felt at ease. Every single employee I came in contact with in this office was genuine, caring, helpful, and extremely knowledgable. They were also all very patient with the millions of questions I asked (being a confused and apprehensive 20 year old without parental guidance) and made me feel completely comfortable about the decisions I was making regarding the care of my teeth and all of the care they provided. Also, all of the cleaning and procedures I had done were cheaper and covered by insurance more than my dentist at home (bonus!). I cannot say enough about the professionalism and high quality dental services I received at Seven Star Dental. I loved that during my first consultation visit, they did a thorough review of my oral health, developed a step-by-step plan to address concerns, and worked with me to prioritize treatments as my insurance would only cover a portion of the total work that they recommended. Dr. Bustamante is fantastic, compassionate, and clearly an excellent dentist; over the past year, she has helped me with a root canal (totally painless!), two porcelain crowns (love that they can make them in office), and replaced an old filling that came out. The staff (from dental assistants, oral hygienist, and front desk/ support) are likewise some of the most caring, friendly, and professional I've come across in my many years of visiting dentists. I love the option to watch Netflix or listen to music while you are getting a procedure done (each room has a Roku TV), and their facilities and equipment are super high-tech, quiet, and spotless/ clean. They validate parking if you park in the garage next door (Macy's). Also, they offer free water and snacks in the waiting area, as well as a bag of complementary goodies (floss, toothbrush, mouthwash, etc) after your teeth cleanings. If I wasn't moving out of the area, I would continue coming back to Seven Star Dental for all of my oral health needs for many years to come! read more
