If they quote you more than $500 in work, get a second opinion. I did. Glad I did. Nice people on team though.

PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND READ MINE AND THE OTHERS REVIEWS. Very similar. If I could've don't…read morethat before I went there I would have and would have SAVED my teeth. At All Smiles Dental, I was initially told I needed four crowns. However, on the day of my appointment, they informed me that only two temporary crowns would be placed. They began numbing the side they planned to work on with a numbing gel, but when the dentist arrived, she started giving me a numbing shot on the opposite side, which hadn't been numbed yet. I raised my hand and told her that side wasn't numb before she injected me, and one of the hygienists mentioned that only two crowns were supposed to be done. The dentist responded that all four crowns were going to be done. So, they numbed the other side. After some time, the dentist returned and began working on my bottom tooth. She completed that tooth and moved to the top tooth above it. During this, I had difficulty breathing due to nasal problems and they kept spraying water in my mouth while working on my teeth. The dentist paused and mentioned the bottom teeth were easier to work on or something to that effect. She left the bottom tooth half-done and moved on to the other side. When she started drilling, I immediately raised my hand because of intense pain. She gave me more anesthetic but immediately resumed working on the tooth, without giving the numbing time to take effect. I raised my hand again, still in pain, and she gave me more anesthetic. At this point, I was crying--not just from the pain, but also from the discomfort of the shots. She was visibly frustrated and huffed, saying, "I already gave you X amount of anesthetics." Eventually, she stopped working on that tooth and began working on the upper one instead. I was struggling to breathe and crying uncontrollably, so I told them I was done. The dentist stopped, and the hygienist began preparing my temporary crown for the first tooth that was fully worked on. One of the hygienists was very sympathetic and kindly told me, "Next time, don't let them do all four teeth at once." I left the office with three untreated teeth, one temporary crown, and a temporary filling. I scheduled a follow-up appointment for two weeks later. However, once I got to my car, the front desk called and said there had been a mistake--they couldn't fit me in for the next appointment, as they thought I was getting permanent crowns, not more temporary ones. The new appointment was set for January 29th, a full 44 days after my first visit, leaving me with bare teeth. Not willing to go 44 days without coverage, I scheduled an appointment with my previous dentist to complete the temporary crowns on January 7th, even though they don't accept my insurance. I had to pay $300 out-of-pocket. A week later, I called All Smiles Dental to ask if there were any sooner appointments available, but they said the dentist recommended I go back to my previous dentist. I explained that this wasn't an option because I couldn't afford to pay $5,000 out of pocket. They promised to speak with the dentist and get back to me. After hearing nothing, I followed up later that day, only to find that the dentist had left for the day. I called every day after that, but no one answered. On Friday, January 17th, I called again, and once again, I was told the dentist had left for the day and that I would get a call back by the end of Monday.

Seriously above and beyond any other place I've given a Yelp review for…read more The last time I went to a dentist was when I was in elementary school; my parents couldnt afford health insurance, and government sponsored healthcare rarely covers dental work. I looked up Afinia via Yelp, Google, and every case sounded like mine. I let my Wisdom tooth decayed and relied on orajel for years because I had no health insurance and was so scared of dental work. The staff at Afinia was super patient with me and I absolutely adore every single person I've interacted with. Customer service effort is SPOT on to the point that people treat you like family. New patient registration was so easy for me: I actually booked through yelp and then someone called to follow up. Patient intake forms are done online, so no extra waiting at the office! This place is great for people with a lot anxiety. Because its been so long, i had a whole dental wellness exam and found i had a myriad of cavities, along with gingivitis, and needed all of my wisdom teeth pulled. I was adamant on getting IV sedation, which even with my UC employee awesome healthcare, makes all of that super pricey. However Cara (Kara? So sorry cant remember) was fantastic with the financial counseling/planning and determined what would be my best options. Worry free there too! Dr. Voris was great with triple checking what I had to get done, and the communication between staff is awesome because Dr. Heck tagged team and made sure I was good to go with IV sedation. Earlier today i took the oral sedative i was prescribed and it really helped with the anxiety. 12 hours later im sitting in bed half loopy with zero recollection of what happened during my three hour procedure but writing this review feeling loads better. Might forget to do so otherwise. Tl;dr best anxiety-free dentist. Staff, Dr. Heck, and Dr. Voris are great.

Weakness personified in the profession. Some of the front…read moreladies are OK... the travesty happens behind those closed doors. 5 years, and at least 2 years awaiting specific dental work... Nope, we are going to harass you and then say you threatened a dentist... but if you have all those films of whatever, then you should have the audio where I threatened the dentist... They are a bullshit organization and couldn't get work done in 3 years of the 5 years. They just wanted to get paid to remove all my top teeth and never come with a solution. First dentist was great, second took my last 6 on top and left... saw a woman I didn't know and she necrotized my tooth for no reason and it scarred the rest of the teeth I have. Willing to do menial work to obtain that insurance payment like my cleaning today where "Dr." Mobley looked at my mouth for 3 seconds and STILL poked me with the picks after being requested not to do so just to ensure that insurance payment. If you feared me so much then why would you take a chance on sticking dental tools in my mouth? Same dentist, only dentist who came in and because I already knew the plan from THREE other dentists at that location, changed it and started talking waivers I would need to not follow her plan in lieu of the established plan that was in my records. WAIVERS? I'm old. I've never heard a dentist so deeply attached to waivers... most want to fix the problem and worry about legal later. Not much confidence in your skills... Insurance said they pay for dentures constantly but these people were coding in extra stuff not needed for dentures. Amazing how many thousands of complaints against these people are out there. I should not be penalized and given substandard care because I am paying a sliding fee. Taxpayers may be picking up some of the tab but unscrupulous dentists defrauding taxpayers with bogus claims isn't a good look. Your assistant doesn't reserve the right to take me to an unlit room and berate/chastise me for nothing that had anything in the least to do with her, then laughed at me and asked if I wanted to reschedule... then when I went to the front and asked for my money back she freaked out and had to make up a story about threatening the dentist. She also threw away my prints/plates in less than a month for no reason. Seems an assistant is allowed to make a lot of executive decisions that can have a business in deep trouble. Those are my medical records and I had a right to be notified about their disposal. Disabled and needed dental care... needed my dental care to be near home. I'll drive. Spinal surgeries/fusions. Thyroid dead, stenosis and several other bone diseases. It took a few friends a month or so to obtain what it has taken me over 3 years to sniff due to one step forward and three back when a new dentist shows up. Not even BBB accredited at their size what does that say? Now on to find a real dental group to hopefully actually care for me.

I went to take my daughter for her appointment today & was denied service because I had my two youngest children with me. When scheduling the appointment I was never told only one or two people could go back, or no siblings. Nothing. I pulled my daughter out of school today & showed up 30 minutes early for paper worked as instructed, then I was told that I could not have all my children with me for the appointment. I asked "Are my kids just supposed to not get dental care because I am a single parent?" to which the person assisting us said "I guess not". I think you could see smoke coming from my ears after that! Absolutely ridiculous. I had to go back in to get an excusal note for school & the receptionist that is balding & I kinda got into it because my tone was obviously that of someone who was frustrated they wasted their time coming to a place for dental care & only to be denied because I had my children. I have never been so disappointed with a healthcare experience such as this one. I contacted social work at Cincinnati Children's and even they were appalled but not surprised as they have always heard horror stories.

My Husband has had his appointment cancelled and pushed back a total of 4 times. We also went 2 years with lack of dental care with the dentist that works here. The lady middle aged woman. I could not find any bad reviews on here to my surprise. Another lady up front claimed I was super smart to bring a mirror to check the quality of my cleaning cause all few times she did a horrible job. Last appointment before my previous one the dentist here left calculus rings around my back teeth and stain's on the two front teeth. She also ordered that my teeth were healthy no cavities at that time. Since that appointment 2 years ago I need 12,500.00 of work on my teeth, so she says. I will be having a second opinion here. This appointment I went to the dentist told me my whole entire bottom row needed crowns but couldn't give me tooth numbers to tell me which ones. Or give me reasonings to why, when I asked. She told me I needed 5 fillings on top and she did 10 when I came in. Now I was on Medicaid at the time, but just because I am poor does that give her any right to treat me like trash. She didn't make this any more comfortable, by jiggling my face while she gave me my shot. Looked me in my eye evilly, and shook my face. While doing so caused me great pain. And she could tell I had anxiety about this. I said owww and she wouldn't listen. So I said damn it. And she said I needed to calm down In front of her other patients. As if we aren't in a doctor's office where things might hurt, and she wasn't listening to my cry! She didn't soothe anything. Made me so terrified to ever go back to a dentist. Matter of fact, she fails to do routine check ups every 6 months recommends them once a year or every other year. Also she fails to educate on how to care for the teeth properly. Least with me she didn't. And after her year off for maternity leave has decided to start to crown every tooth I have in my mouth. Just throw a 1300.00 crown on them all, that'll do it. I felt taken advantage of. I feel like she didn't take good care of me at all. I bought a tool off Amazon and cleaned my own teeth way better than her. I wanted to try to give her the benefit of the doubt, but when she was doing my fillings my back tooth hurt a lot. Something popped. It has never gotten better or stopped hurting. I 100% think this place should be investigated by the board or something. I didn't want to write a bad review out of anger so I've waited to see how my teeth have held up. Seems like every back tooth (all four) have been left without care for a while. I wonder if there's something to that? Like a more bang for your buck type of deal. I guess all the crowns she offers will replace for the lack of routine dental care available here. And the year long maternity leave. I will never ever be going back here! If I could, I'd give them a -10 stars! And I'm not angry anymore. Just confused why a medical professional is involved in this type of behavior.
