Arrived here from Barcelona and was impressed at how easy it was to disembark and get through the main lobby of the station and out to the parking area where I got my Uber to go to the hotel. When departing Seville, arrived at the station about 45 minutes early and about 30 minutes before scheduled departure, they announced the gate for the train to Madrid and very effectively herded all the passengers down the ramps to the trains. Note here that security scanning of bags took place on the platform itself. In Barcelona, you scanned your bag before entering the waiting area. The station was very clean, staff was helpful, there were plenty of shops to get food, drink or souvenirs. Definitely one of my top 10 favorite train stations!

The music was rhythmic, the dancing was entrancing, and the dance attire was beautiful. The performance space is quite intimate (roughly 75 seats on 3 sides of the stage), and drinks are available for purchase prior to the performance. There was no audience participation component--thank goodness. Check out the gift shop on your way out; there are a number of good finds here.

There are so many places in Seville that offer Flamenco demonstrations that it was hard to know which one to choose. After extensive research, I choose the Museo del Baile Flamenco. I liked that they supported the art form, and I was also interested in seeing the items in the museum. The beautiful performance definitely didn't disappoint. It was in a small venue and lasted an hour. The museum was great, and the dresses were absolutely amazing.

If you don't check the schedule and bus platform on your way through the main station then you will probably have to go back up again to learn where to find your bus. On the bus level smoking is rampant and the no fumar signs are never enforced. Today every bench had a smoker. There is so little consideration for the passengers, in spite of the long term renovations still in progress. Why not fix the broken electronic schedule boards at the bus level before replacing, at great expense, the unbroken seating at the main level?

The rooftop has a nice view of the bell tower. It was quite noisy with the church bells ringing every 10 or 15 minutes at times, especially in the night, but if you can sleep through that, it's a great location. The cost was also quite reasonable (just over $100 per night). We stayed for 4 nights and got a deal through Capital One Travel for a discount.

It was a gorgeous hotel and beautiful room, situated a couple blocks away from the main Poeta, right in the heart of the city center. When we checked in, they gave us a welcome glass of cava in their beautiful courtyard. Our apartment had a large bedroom with queen bed, big living room with two twin beds off that room separated by a curtain, balcony, huge kitchen, and they provided a large bowl of fruit which we re-stocked during our stay from the local markets. Rick Steves says Poeta "captures the essence of Sevilla," and is "timeless elegance, in the heart of Santa Cruz, an old 17th century family mansion; tucked away among cobblestone streets; 17 rooms surround a tranquil central patio where guests relax and enjoy free evening classical guitar concerts. We enjoyed the classical Spanish guitar in the courtyard each evening while enjoying a glass of wine or cava. Absolutely recommend and would love to stay here on every future visit to Sevilla. The next day, we had an issue w/ our tickets to the Alcazar, and Jose helped us retrieve them, too. Our bathroom was beautiful, but the floor of the shower was very slippery. We informed the front desk, and they sent someone to our room when we were out. My younger daughter, who does not speak much Spanish, let him in, but did not understand what he was saying. He proceeded to pantomime someone slipping. She woke up our older daughter, who speaks more Spanish, and said a man with a clipboard was in the living room. She told him: "Mi padre es loco," he laughed and put some non-slip strips down in the shower. Great stay.

An archeological museum, Antiquarium, was located underneath which contained Roman ruins, mosaics and it was free to enter by showing your Alcázar ticket. At the ground level were restaurants but we did not enter. One level up was the more popular spot with the "I Sevilla" which attracted more people than we saw walking above on Las Setas. There was an admission to walk on the parasol but due to the rain and overcast weather we skipped it. Overall quick stop if you're visiting this area of Seville.
