John went above and beyond for me and the group of 5 other veterans to ensure we saw all the sights ( goats, puffin, eagles, whales, orcas, otter, sea lions, glaciers, waterfalls) while moving between fishing holes. Limits for rockfish in the boat in 8 minutes!!! Rarely went 5 minutes without a rod tip being bent down by a huge Cod or halibut! John knows his stuff. The boat was clean and roomie even with 8 total people with a comfortable latrine. I cannot recommend a better captain or boat in Seward! The Inn (Kenai Fjords Bed & Breakfast) was awesome as well. It was just fully renovated with comfortable beds and amenities very clean and gorgeous new private bathrooms with marble tiles, Very easy to get a good nights rest after a full day of action in the water!

Bill/Stan do a great job of exploring the fjord. Saw mountain goats, holgate glacier, sea otters, humpback whale, sea lions, Orcas. Great scenery. Nice Narratives. informative, but not non-stop babbling which we experiences on other excursions. It can be cool, so dress appropriately. They suggest a waterproof jacket and pants. Helpful to stop the wind, and in case it rains. There was no splash from the waters. The rain pants are not a necessity, however a waterproof/water resistant jacket is (unless the forecast shows no rain), but I doubt it. Overall very enjoyable, worth every penny. You won't be bored over the 9 hour span. Our cruise had 5 passengers so it was nice to talk with Bill/Stan and the other passengers. Highly recommended whether you are a cruiser, or just doing a land trip.

Within minutes of lines going in the water, fish started coming out. The entire boat caught their "overs", and most of us caught our "unders" by 11AM. Manny moved the boat to new spots to find rockfish, salmon and smaller halibuts. The deckhand Bora was quick to help with the tackle, and cleaned the fish on our way back to shore. My wife was horribly seasick most of the day. Manny and Bora were quite helpful. Luckily, she still managed to pull in a few halibut. We'd highly recommend Puffin Charters!

Our guides Porkchop and Clint did a great job in showing us how to maneuver them and how to stay safe. The trails were absolutely amazing, the sunlight shining through the moss and trees felt out of this world. It was a lot of fun and I even drove my own ATV. No anxiety, just excitement. We even found some moose poop! Seward was an amazing place to visit for our family and we all agreed this was one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend! The ATV I was given appeared poorly maintained, with obvious signs of wear that should have been addressed before customers were put on it. When safety concerns were raised, the manager was dismissive and rude rather than professional. Adventure activities always carry risk, but customers should never have to question whether the equipment has been properly maintained. If you're considering an ATV tour in Seward, ask detailed questions about their inspection and maintenance procedures before you ride. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience.

In a small town that struggles to survive through the long winter like Seward, this shop does something remarkable. They also sell Native Made goods CHEAPER THAN ANCHORAGE. I am an advocate of selling as much local, native made goods as possible. I had a conversation with the buyer at the store and he was telling me with each passing year there are less native carvers and artists because elders are passing away. They have some incredible pieces of art in the store. For people that don't have large sums of money to invest in art pieces, they have some local pieces of jewelry, Alaska themed shirts and hats, stickers, mugs, magnets, books and cook books, etc. They have also have a whole aisle of toys for out-of-towners who are desperate to satisfy a whiny kiddo during a trip. They even have ponchos, backpacks, umbrellas and other immediate need items that are often very hard to find in a town this size. Honestly, don't judge and book by its cover. This place has you covered.

He set up the day for Ling Cod first and we immediately landed legal fish. We motored about 15-20 minutes away and hit the Halibut spot which we obtained our limit with nice size fish in about 45 minutes. He moved to a third spot and we cranked in the rock fish as fast as we could throw in the line. Joe was a great guide, he knew where the fish were. He knew what to use and how to use it. Paid close attention to our needs. If you like structure and discipline in your day Joe is your guy. I will use him every time possible if I'm fishing the ocean out of Seward.
